Oldie Friday. . . . . . . . The worst card in the Universe!

Good morning my quacking chums. Hope the Sun is smiling on you.
After Patricia's techno issues, my smartphone has decided to throw a wobbly and I'm having to use its temperamental and lesser feature packed predecessor until I can get to Carphone Warehouse today. How reliant have we become on these bits of bloomin plastic eh?

For your delectation this morning, I think that I have possibly found the most hideous card in my repertoire. This was in the days of being equipped with just a Hougie Board, scissors, a Hobbycraft punch and a naive optimism that this looked good hahaha!

I'm praying that anyone casually flicking through blogs doesn't decide to give The Pond a wide berth based on this creation. . . . . . . in fact PLEASE COME BACK, MY STUFF DOES GET BETTER, HONEST!!!

Worst of all, I did send this to someone (cringe).

Have a great day folks and take comfort in the knowledge that you'll never come up with anything this bad lol!!!

  1. Hi Ang
You are being too hard on yourself! You should see some of my early cards (perhaps some of my later cards too!). Your victim (oops, I mean friend) will have valued a card that you took time to make. That said, it's a bit green for me. LOL
    Best wishes, Anne,

  3. Hi Ang. You really are too hard on yourself, it's not that bad. I have seen far far worse! We all have to start somewhere and this is much better than mine. I didn't think to take pics of my first 6 or so cards that I made, and sent, so have no hard evidence, thank goodness : ) Take care.

  5. Crikey-wish my first attempt at cardmaking was as detailed as yours. I really cringe to think I was sending them out to "friends"!! I think its just the shade of green you have used thats putting you off your card-its a tad bright, but thats not always a bad thing.

  6. Hi Ang, oh you are to hard on your self. I could'nt have cut this syle of card when I started, probably still can't. You flower is super, and I love the colours of your flower. The overall colour mmmmmmm, but nevertheless I am sure it was beloved by the recipient and I think it's great, hugs Kate x

  7. Morning Ang,
If my first attempt had been as good as yours I would have been very pleased, mine looked like they were done by children. Mind you it is a bit green.

  8. Yep! my friend, you are to hard on yourself.
The card design is brilliant, I love that. Colour maybe a "tad" bright but the we live and learn. Your designs and colours of today are more subdued but also very elegant.
    Have a great weekend
    Hugs

  9. Don't be so hard on yourself, I rather like the card - they don't have to have lots of fancy touches, and of course we do evolve, and if you made that, with what you had at the time, it was a great card! (PS, you should see some of my early ones!)

  14. The only reason you feel that way now is because you have progressed to being a master at card making. I have received cards back in the day that did a very slight pause on the way from the envelope to the trash can. Of course when the sender asked if I liked the card I lied and said yes. The look on their face told me they wanted to do what I did with it but but couldn't see wasting the money. LOL. Your card is actually a pleasing work of art. NO LIE.

  15. I like the concept and could never do this type of "stepper" card even now Perhaps the colour is a bit bright but everything else is lovely My first attempts were very cringe worthy

  16. Not that bad Ang, love the design of the card, all the fancy cuts. It shows how far you have progressed over time. My first one was a lot worse I can assure you lol!

  22. Ang, I love green but is just a bit bright, on saying that I love the design of this card. Yes you have come on but I bet even our Sue made cards when she started that she wouldn't want us to see. Oh her new dies are fab. Had a great weekend. Hazel xx

  23. I love the shape of it, and you know I can't make and cut those types of card and I would have been impressed to receive it from a friend. I don't see this as ugly Ang, I think it's really clever. Have been wondering about getting a Hougie to see if I can get over my shaped cards issues or fold card issues whatever it is as I have such a problem with! Have a lovely weekend Karen xx
