Its Still Christmas. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Good morning lovely folk. Hope everyone is ok?

Thank you for your wonderful comments and for your concern. Staying home and crafting is still fraught with danger. Twice, I have dropped one of the GC plates, sideways on onto my foot and I won't mention the craft knife.

I'm not going to mention any mishaps in future but then again you all think I'm a clumsy duck anyway lol!!!

Now, today's card is one that was intended to be one of John's samples for Thursday but sadly, it never made it out of my craft room. As you can see, there's a few die cuts involved and it was half way through when my pink Princess went bang!!!
I have now managed to finish it with my new teal GC and thought it deserved to share its moment with the others.

I have used Sue Wilsons Quilted Blocks Striplet to create the patchwork effect. I have seen a similar technique in Blogland and I think Sue herself did a tutorial using a different die.

Ingredients
White card
CE Brunswick Green card
CE Rich Red card
John Lockwood's 12 Days of Christmas 8x8 paper pad
Sue Wilson's Quilted Blocks Striplet die
SB 2013 Snowflake Pendant die
Presscut large square dies
X-Cut circle die
CE Christmas sentiment
CS PVA Pearls (Silver and Berry Red)
Rhubarb Stalk Memento Dew Drop ink

This is not a swift card to make (especially when your die cutting machine decides to retire halfway through) but I think its worth the effort and although the centre square is on foam pads, its still a relatively flat card.

Busy times at work again so I will try and keep on top of visiting as best I can and if I fall behind, I will try and catch up in any free time I get. I'm adding some new shelving to my craft space so that involves sorting out my bits . . . . . . . . . . its a frightening activity when you see how much stuff I have and don't use!!!

Hope the coming week is kind to you all.

TTFN

  9. Good morning Ang, saw some of your cards on the show and pleased you got a mention. Shame this one wasn't ready but at least you finished it and it didn't end up in the bin!! I'm a bit concerned to hear you are putting up shelves - you have checked that no water pipes or electric cables are in the vicinity haven't you???? My niece was supposed to be coming for the weekend and in anticipation I had to have a bit of a clear up so she could find the bed - surprising what I found so I'm sure your sort out will reveal a lot of hidden treasures too! Have a good week, love from Jackie xx

  22. Hi Ang,

I am back from my travels lol! Sorry I have missed your posts but have looked back and how accident prone are you my friend?!!! I think you were lucky to escape with just a bruised hand and ankle with that one, hope you are healing? Love your card though, the partridge, pear & tree, fabulous idea, love the design setting, absolutely stunning.
Today's card is stunning too, my o my John had better watch out, your creations are becoming a match for his lol! Such beauty in this one, such intricacy, I can see all the die cutting involved and don't our machine pick the best time to give up the ghost?! Its such a beautiful creation Ang. I have not had time to watch the shows, I hope the second one recorded as the first did not apparently because of the storms we had it knocked sky out!!! I have not checked yet but will later.
The house is just about standing, we still have a leaky roof in the utility, been over a year now, the inside of the roof is just about staying put, still have bits falling off but hey, he doesn't seem to care. He can't find where the leak is coming from so therefore he wont fix it but wont spend money getting anyone else in either! I have four buckets now in there lol! I could write an essay on the jobs half finished round here, the place is a mess I can tell you lol!

Anyhow, enough of my complaining, you have a great day my friend, have you heard any dates for the NEC yet? Would still love to meet up?

    Happy crafting

    Love & hUgs
