Walk Like an Egyptian. . . . . . .

Good morning everyone. Hope this finds you well.

Welcome to J.Ward the latest paddler in the duck pond. Thank you for joining us.

Its been a manic couple of weeks here with 2 lots of samples to make and all the blog posts, a trip to Hochanda and sorting out the bookings for the workshop.
The venue wasn't available to add on the Sunday as well so we are looking at other dates or possibly another central venue for those of you who missed out.

Now, I'm back to John's samples today (I will alternate with Daisy's for the next few posts).
I don't do inky or messy fingers as a rule but it had to be done when I saw the tree stamps.
I will add again, that I don't have the media plates or a stamp press (though that may be obvious lol!!!) so all stamping was done commando and without a safety net.

Ingredients
White and brown card
John Next Door Winter Flowers stamps
John Lockwood sentiment
Variety of Memento and Distress inks

In case you were wondering about the title of this post (apologies if you weren't lol!!!) I hadn't got the pyramids in mind when I did it, just mountains or hills at sunrise/set but when I was in the Green Room watching John last Tuesday, a fella from a jewellery company who had been on earlier, asked me if I had been to the pyramids when the card came on screen.
I still didn't twig when he asked (dense or early start. . . . . . could be either or both lol!!!) so I said no and that it seemed an random question.
He then pointed out my peaky mounds. . . . . . . . stop right there those of you with rude thoughts lol!!!
I can see it now so I don't mind if people want to imagine here, Egypt or anywhere as long as it looks ok.

Mr D will be performing his pulling duties again today so watch out on the next post for the winners name.
Also, if there is any update on the extra workshop situation, I'll let you all know.

So for now, be good.

TTFN
Ang x

Ps.....Thank you Barbara. Mr L has told me he has the pate. I should be seeing him Wednesday so I'm hoping he hasn't scoffed it all by then lol!

  5. Good morning Ang, As far as I remember I don't think there are trees or water by the pyramids but I can se what he means!! The reflections you have created are wonderful. In fact, I think you should be arranging a limited print and selling framed pictures of it. How about that for a new venture!! Love from Jackie xx

  7. Absolutely wonderful Ang, and Jackie is quite correct there is no water or trees there, nor would they be lined up like that. I just love your colours and those reflections. Off to watch CB on Hochanda now with my granola, Kate x

  9. Morning Ang, a fabulous card and so clever to do it without a safety net. Wish my stamping turned out as good as yours, commando or not.
Take care and remember to sit down and relax as Wendy L has said stress is not good for you.

  10. Yep I did wonder and hadn't noticed the hills till you pointed them out. The colouring etc is very Egypian but alas the trees would need to be changed for palms. However, its still a very pretty card, so just call it artistic licence.

  15. Lovely card as always, I dont think you need a stamp press. I wonder if going commando will improve my lining up abilities, cant work out how taking my knickers off will help, but hey ho, anything for research-lol.

  18. Your art today is remarkable! I shake my head in awe that you did not have a stamping platform or the media plates to do this design. Tell John I think he needs to give you these items - not that you need them. Your sponging is perfect. I am pleased that you have been able to be so busy. I am positive that John is pleased you are so helpful to him and his new business. Wishing you a lovely week.

I don't often wax quite so lyrical but I do like this a lot!!
    Thank you.

  24. Wow, Ang, this is sensational! A true work of art! I've never been able to make one of these mirror image images, so I'm mighty impressed! "As for the pyramids," she says, cocking her head, "lots of lakes around there then?" Lucky you to still have peaky mounds!! Hugs, Darnell

  25. Hi Ang! This card has such a beautiful soft look to it. The reflection stamping is right on! I would however, like to point out that "going commando" has a much different meaning here in the US. I hope you were wearing your underpants LOL!!! Have a great day!
