Christmas Roses . . . . . . . . .

Good morning chaps and chapesses...................... me again.

I know that I have been a neglectful blogger but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, although it could be a train!!!!!
Since I was last here, the naughty tooth has been removed. I had to have 6 shots of anaesthetic, 4 stitches, more antibiotics and looked like I had been in the ring with Mike Tyson.
Its still a bit tender and a wee bit swollen but its still only 2 weeks and thank heavens the bruising has gone.
Scans are next week so keeping fingers crossed that they go ok.

Had a lovely week last week as Mr D had a week off so we went out and about for a few days, including London on Wednesday and out on Friday for our wedding anniversary.

Now, back to the matter in hand. This is actually one of my favourite cards I have made and was a sample for Mr Lockwood's Christmas Rose Hochanda shows.

Ingredients
White, black and Lime Tree kiwi card
JND Stamford dies
JND Christmas Rose die
JND Rose Leaves die
JND Ivy Plate die and matching stamp
JND sentiment
Various inks and alcohol markers
Crafts Too stamens

It was one of those joyous (and rare in my case) moments where you stand back and think "that's just what I wanted it to look like" lol!!! I applied the distress inks with a cotton bud as it gives you more control with the blending.

I don't think I'm going to get this back from John as he asked if he could have it for his birthday card this year 😃.
I'm just glad that I remembered to photograph these ones as, stupidly, I forgot to photograph the samples from the previous release before I gave them to John.............durrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I have noticed that we have reached the 200 followers mark so thank you very much for clicking that button.
As a thank you, its time to have a Paddle Prize so, anyone who is a follower and comments on this post by 19th August 2019, will go into a draw for some goodies (will pop a photo of the prize on my next post).

Better scoot as time for food.
I shall return in a more timeous manner so meantime, take care and be good.

  1. Morning Ang, oh wow what a beauty........yes I am talking about the sample not the hole in your gum - it did have to come out though - anyway the sample as I said is gorgeous, I saw it on John's Facebook Live and the photo doesn't do it justice, good idea about the cotton bud might have to try that with your permission. I am doing an e-workshop this afternoon and will be using the Christmas Rose so do looking forward to that, mind you mine might look like a wilted daisy, no don't laugh.

Happy belated Wedding Anniversary. I was born and breed in London bu very rarely gt to go back there now that I am retired, but when I do it has changed so much, thank goodness for my memories.

Hope the scans are OK. Also pleased that the tooth has at last come out, you knew it would have to happen.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  2. Hi Ang, good to have you back - I do look every day!
Such a gorgeous card so I’m not surprised John decided to have it for his birthday card. The Christmas roses are just gorgeous and the colours you’ve used, divine.
Sorry to hear about your tooth, and hope scans go to plan.
I had my 6 year old granddaughter to stay a week ago - she spent hours in my craft room, learning new techniques. Pixie powders were a favourite!

  17. Hello Ang,
The card is so beautiful, and the Christmas Roses look just like you've picked them - gorgeous.
Congratulations on your Anniversary, and I hope your gum soon heals. A tooth extraction isn't pleasant but it's over with now, although you've certainly been through the mill.
    love Maureen xx

  18. Hello Ang, what a stunning card, your imagination and creativity is really very inspiring, just wish I had more time in a day and less day job work to do! The tooth sounds really painful, hopefully it will settle down now. Happy Anniversary to you and Mr D, have mine coming up this month. Take care all. Bx

  22. You are right this card came out just perfect and you should be extremely proud to have made it. You make many gorgeous cards but this one is exceptional. John is lucky to claim it as his own because I know it is the most perfect example of a card using his Christmas rose.
I am glad/relieved for you that the tooth is a goner and you are on the road to recovery. I don't know how you managed to make beautiful cards, study and do all that you do with a very bad tooth.
My new puppy is keeping me busy. She starts "school" Saturday and hopefully will be transformed into a well behaved little lady. She is actually very smart which can be a problem in dogs. I am not getting any cards made however and I miss that.
Happy Anniversary to you and Mr.D,
