Please do not adjust your sets, normal service is resumed.............

Howdy doody folks. How's it hanging with everyone? I have been hot and sticky but now feel refreshed after a cool shower........the Duck needs to keep her feathers in pristine condition you know!!!
A warm, well very warm at the moment, to Anne. Thank you for following and feel free to leave a comment as and when you can and Patricia, I'm intrigued as to what an "Altered Cheese Box" is.

I bet you knew all was back to normal when you saw this zingy baby pop up on your screens just as you thought it safe to put those Ray Bans back in the drawer. It was a bit of an odds and ends experiment kinda thing.

Now, I saw Sue Wilson do some double embossing but she did use a much bigger stamp with a bigger embossing area. I thought I would give it a bash with some smaller stamps.
I started with a 5x7 cream card base and for the first layer, Versamark stamped and clear heat embossed a rose from a Kanban set.
I then inked over this with Mustard Seed Distress Ink and wiped over the embossed areas with a dry wet wipe. Make sure that this is dry before you go any further or your next wafting of embossing powder will stick to the damp ink as well as the stamped areas.
Next, I stamped a chrysanthemum type flower over the base with Versamark and clear heat embossed. I then inked over the whole card with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. I wiped over the embossed areas again.

I had three spare offcuts of one of the SB Elegant Labels Four dies. I chopped the tops off of them and stamped little flowers on them using the same two distress inks again. I also inked around the edges.
I stuck these to the base card with foam pads, leaving a gap to thread the orange organza ribbon through, which was then topped with a finger tied bow (can't remember who I was thinking about when I had my two fingers up this time hahaha!!!)
Topped each of the offcuts with a Britannia Rose die flower, then added the sentiment.

It was a bit of fun messing around with the inks and embossing and I was getting luminous withdrawal symptoms.
NASA have been informed in case it gets picked up on a satellite. LOL !!!

Have a great day folks.

  1. Well first of all I think Patricia's altered cheese box is one where the cheese has gone off? Or is empty?LOL!

Today's card is lovely and summery fortunately the shades were to hand after dropping Libby at school.

Seriously though it is not that bright just cheerful. I am so glad your double embossing worked for you as I tried three times to no avail but I have thoughts on why. I used a background die with too small a pattern!I will have another go when I have more time.

But this is a lovely example of the technique and I love these two inks as you will see soon:)

Y'all have a nice day now!
