Snow At The Doodahs. . . . . . . . . . . .

Good evening everyone. Hope you are all ok.

I know its unusual for me to post in the evening but I thought, why wait until tomorrow.

Its not often at the moment that I have had time to play as the website has been keeping me busy along wit the hospital appointments and tests..........more on that later.

Now, I got all unnecessary when I managed to get hold of some craft snow, like John has been using lately.
Mine is not from the same wholesaler but it is the same type (so may be the same manufacturer) and I managed to get it cheaper, which means that I can pass on those savings to my lovely customers.

Also, I had one of those "I wonder if............" moments and decided to try stamping onto it. You have to rub the "snow" onto your sticky sheet well, like you would with glitter to get it flat. I would recommend using the waxy carrier sheet that you peel off the double sided sticky sheet to rub over it as its a nice smooth item to use, rather than your fingers.

Well, slap my thigh and call me Betsy, it bloomin well worked!!!

Ingredients
White and blue card
Silver mirror card
John Next Door Snowflake Circle embossing folder (available on my website)
John Next Door Winter Trees stamp set snowflakes (available on my website)
Snowflake die - part of a set of 4 (available on my website)
Fine Craft Snow (available on my website)
CE Double Sided Adhesive sheet
Memento Dew Drop Bahama Blue and Danube Blue inks
Teeny silver bling

I love the texture of this stuff (you can really see it in the photos) and the fact that you can still stamp on it.
I can't honestly comment on whether you can stamp on the exact one John has been using as I have not personally used that particular one.
What I would recommend is that you spread a sheet of kitchen roll over it when you have stamped and press over the stamped area to take off the excess ink. It is polyester so the ink will take a little while longer to dry otherwise.

I have a feeling, I will be using this product a lot on my Christmas cards this year.

Now, onto my current round of hospital pokings and proddings. My cardiologist referred me to a respiratory consultant to run tests on my breathing, pulse and oxygen levels during sleep. He doesn't  think I have sleep apnoea but wanted to check these other areas.

This is what I had to wear overnight...............

There was a strap across my chest, a strap across my stomach, a wrist monitor, finger pulse monitor, and some tubing that went around my ears and 2 things up my nose, all connected to another monitor clipped to my nightwear (Good job I wear something to bed or goodness knows what I would have had to attach the clips to..............).

Well, Mr D looked at me with a tight lipped smile and a tear in his eye..........I could tell, at that moment, he was remembering the reason why he married me and was stifling his emotions................

Will be fascinated to find out the results as I didn't get a wink of sleep in all that paraphernalia. Velcro sticks to some very unnatural places, I can tell you!!!

All this necessitates 4 hospital appointments. One to see the consultant, one to collect the equipment and be trained on how to use it, one to return the equipment and another to get the results...........and they wonder why waiting lists are so bloomin long!!!

Well that's me for today.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'm off to play in the snow again.

  1. Hi Betsy, I now have that imaged engraved on the back of my eyes - not pretty! I, too, am glad you wear something to bed because the image would be worse ... lol! At least you cheer us up and give us a laugh. Great card and well done you for your experimentation - and I am talking about the snow and stamping now! Li does look good on the card though. Hope things are otherwise well with you. Take care. Christine x

  4. Well that's some contraption, if I didn't know better I would think it's something to do with M&S...no I mean s&m. No wonder you couldn't sleep. Seriously though I hope you get results that will help you.
Your card is stunning, love the frostiness and the snow looks brilliant.

  10. Hello Betsy,
Fantastic use of the "snow" but why didn't you have this in stock when I placed my order a few days ago!!! It's useful to snow that it's "stampable" (there's no such word but you know what I mean).
Well, that's one bit of sexy kit there Madam. Could you please post a picture of you in the outfit as I need something to put at the window to keep burglars away ha ha.
I hope all this is totally unnecessary and the Hospital find out that they are wasting their time and yours.
    love Maureen xx

  12. I'd never have thought to stamp over the snow, what a great idea! Love the card. My Dad had sleep apnoea for many years and had several sleep studies done. He used a CPAP machine for many years, but was finally 'cured' when he lost loads of weight whilst fighting bowel cancer. Don't recommend doing that though, but he's still going strong! Hope all goes well for you xxx

  13. You are so crafty clever thinking one could possibly stamp on pressed snow on one's card design. Love all the texture you created on this card. Regarding your CPAP experience - interesting to say the least. Makes me wonder what issue the doctor is trying to rule out. Hang in there girl - you can do this!

  14. Oh Ang/ Betsy!
It isn't funny but you did make me smile! You are a good story teller as well as an excellent crafter!! I'm sorry you are having to go through all of this and I hope it is well worth your effort and loss off sleep! I love what you have done with the snow! A really lovely card. Thank you.
    Take care,
    Love Myra xx

  16. I'm so glad you have fun snow to play in after all the latest poking and prodding and wearing of torture equipment, Ang! I'll be interested in your results, too, as my doctor wants to check me for sleep apnea, too. (Although, oddly enough, I haven't snored since I had my lady bits removed. Don't even go there!! Ours bodies are ridiculous!) I love your card and love that you had the idea to stamp on the snow and discover it works brilliantly ~ and for less money!! Hugs, Darnell

  17. Morning Ang, well that takes spicing thing up in the bedroom to a whole new level, not sure I like the image I have in my head though.
Your card is lovely, and great to know that you can stamp on the snow.

  18. Wow, what a beautiful card Ang!! Dang, that snow is awesome, looks like I'll be placing another order sooner than I thought because I'm gonna need some of that amazing stuff!! There is so much texture on this card, and the colour palette is perfect for a frosty theme. Love that silver snowflake, so festive and elegant!

That's quite the contraption you had to wear while you're sleeping, I'm not sure I would get any sleep at all mugged up like Hannibal Lector!! lol. sending hugs :)
