Apologies for my absence but I have been hidden under the duvet for the past few days with a nasty cold (I'm not sure that there is an un-nasty cold but you know what I mean lol!!!).
It was my own fault for opening my big beak at the doctors on Friday.
I had gone to get my last blood test results and was very happy to be told that my thyroid had improved, my B12 had improved, my cholesterol was good, no sign of diabetes and the anaemia was gone..........hurrah!!!
I then asked if I should have the flu jab as the receptionist had mentioned it. After discussion about benefits against risks (there was a potential problem with the anticoagulants) it was decided I wouldn't have it, as I also joyfully proclaimed that I hadn't had a cold for over 12 months..............then it was all downhill from there.
I woke up Saturday morning at 4am with a raging sore throat and by 8am my nose was running like a tap. Needless to say, I didn't get to Stoneleigh (sorry Karen and Anne). I stayed under a blanket watching the GP Qually on Saturday and same on Sunday for the GP. By Monday, I was feeling rougher than a badgers chuff and coughing like Steptoe.
Finally feeling a bit better now and glad that this time I didn't end up in hospital.
Now, on the unwell note, I remembered that I hadn't shown this card that I made for blogging buddy Darnell a couple of months ago when she was having to have another operation. I hope she doesn't mind me sharing it now.
Ingredients
White, yellow and green card
Sentiment typed up on the computer
Foliage die
Lemons made from oval die cuts trimmed into lemon shapes and embossed with a small embossing tool
Sorry about the lighting on this last photo.
This is very CAS for me but anyone who knows Darnell knows that she has an amazing sense of humour and is a very funny lady, so it only seemed fitting that I should send a humorous card.
After the 18 months I've had, its a good mantra for me too lol!!!
Hopefully, that is normal blogging service now being resumed.
Didn't get to see Mr L on Saturday either before he jetted off to Greece. Hopefully its nice and warm and he's making good use of his Speedos.
That's me for now, so until next time, be good and stay well.

ReplyDeleteJust love that sentiment and so perfect for you and Darnell! !!
Good morning Ang, so sorry to read you have been unwell but at least on the positive side your visit to the doctors was positive - got to look at the glass half full and all that!! love the card you made Darnell - me, I'd prefer the gin and tonic with it as well!! Shame you didn't get to Stoneleigh though. I was waiting to see what goodies you bought. However I am looking forward now to the new additions to your web site though I am off tomorrow with my friends for our annual crafty weekend retreat so may be next week before I can look as the house we rent is in the middle of nowhere across the border into Norfolk and mobile reception is a bit hit and miss. Quite a good race after all on Sunday wasn't it. I will have to tape this weekend and hope I don't hear anything about it as one of our party always insists on having the news on despite there never being anything good to hear!! My mind is playing tricks on me now trying to imagine John in his speedos. Interesting vision is all I will say. Anyway take care my friend and have a good weekend love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteLove this card, it appeals to me but I hope I won't need another one for a very, very long time!!
Good to hear that the blood tests results are all good - about time something was good for you - but sorry to hear about the cold.
I am not thinking about John in his speedo's, it's not conducive to my well being ha ha.
I hope I'm on your newsletter list, if not I'll have to do something about it!!

ReplyDeleteHi Ang, hope you're feeling a little better now, I've heard loads of people that have had a cold or felt rough after having their flu jab, so maybe it's a strong strain that they are giving everyone. Glad to hear the shop is doing well. The lemon card is ideal for anyone with a cold LOL !! Janice x http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteoh you must tempt fate saying about a cold.
I did that a while ago and had the same outcome.
Good news on the other hand about your other health probs.
Let hope it all stays on tract.
Love this wonderful card, and I'm sure knowing Darnell it was much appreciated.
She sure does have a wonderful sense of humour.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great card I'll bear it in mind when I need a cheerful get well card. There's a few sayings about Life serving you lemons.... get the gin out!
ReplyDeleteHi Ang! Tempting the Gods by saying you haven't had a cold in a year! So sorry it got you down. Hope you are feeling better now. I love the sentiment and it is perfect for Darnell's humor. Sorry I haven't been around the blog much. Husband retired 4 weeks ago and I must keep him busy or he will drive me crazy! I have him building a deck out back. When that's done I'll have to think of another project! Have a great day.
