Sorry I have been missing for a bit. Time just seems to have run away with me recently and I feel like I have been chasing my tail (and Lily and Molly's!!!)
The vet visit went well. He is very pleased with how they are doing and they were very well behaved (for a change!!!).
He did suggest having separate toilet facilities for them as they get older but I advised that Mr D and I do not have separate toilet facilities so they would just have to get on with it.
He also asked if they have a routine so I said "they eat, they sleep, they wreck the house.............and repeat!!!"
Anyhoo, welcome to Scrappy Scatty Jan and thank you for pressing "follow". Very kind of you to take time to come and have a look at my lil' ol' blog.
Before I forget, someone asked (think it may have been Karen) how I scratch the scratch board. There are special styluses you can use but I use a small bradawl that came in a mini screwdriver set. I have used a pokey tool but sometimes its a bit too sharp.
Now, I had got the last of my John samples to show but somehow, I have managed to chop the edge off the main photo so I will have to re-photograph it when I get it back from John.
Meantime, I had purchased the Ribbon Threader die set (it would have been rude not to as it was my suggestion lol!!!) and made this card for a friend of ours who was celebrating his 70th birthday recently.
Ingredients
White and red card
Checkerboard embossing folder
JND Ribbon Threader dies
CE Stitched Bunting Numbers stamps
Presscut Square dies
Blue and red satin ribbon
You all know that I like to be different so I decided to use the Ribbon Threader dies in a more unusual way so it wasn't just straight lines of ribbon so I snapped how I did it above and as follows......
If you measure and pencil in the lines as per the photos, it makes life easier for lining things up.
Pattern cut, then did the embossing and lastly, threaded the ribbons through.
Something different, as I say and I think its a way of using ribbon on a male card without it looking girlie.
That's me for now folks as I am trying to type this with 2 kittens chasing each other and jumping all over me.

ReplyDeleteMorning Mrs Duck, I must comment on this creation, I think it is brilliant, ideal for a man card, I have to make one this weekend and was scratching my head trying to come up with something and you have provided it, so I am going to have a play, I have heard so much about you from John (what a smashing man he is but don't tell him I told you ha ha), and to see the wonderful samples and things you have made for him too, well they are amazing. You certainly made me laugh about your comments to the vet regarding the toilet requirements. Anyway take care.

Your name rang an immediate bell as I know Wendy and a fan of all things JND.
I had gathered that the regular blood results for CKD can be a tad unpredictable as the phlebotomist discarded one sample last week as the blood came out too slowly saying that can alter results. I was Stage 2 in December and for some years which they say is par for the course for a diabetic, but to then be one digit from Stage 4 so quickly rang alarm bells for everyone.
I've not heard of the Nuclear Medicine GFR, although did have similar for my Parathyroids last year, but will certainly be requesting it when I see them tomorrow if there's no improvement.
My thanks again and I hope your own issues stabalize.

What a wonderful idea! Sandy mentioned it reminded her of Native Indian designs and I have to say, that was my first thought also. Very clever to incorporate ribbon into a masculine card. You certainly think outside the box and I love it and your instructions are very easy to follow. Thank you.
