Good morning blog chums. Hope you are well.
We have had a lovely few days in this neck of the woods. Had a trip round some lovely gardens on an NGS open gardens event with Nesta again yesterday in glorious weather.
It was a bit parky early on so I had put a short sleeved jumper on but then regretted it half way around the gardens when I was sweating more than a turkey at Christmas.
One of the houses also makes excellent homemade cakes so we go there first, reserve our cakes and then return there at the end to have the goodies. The coffee and walnut cake was delicious.
I am still waiting for my exotic tomatoes to arrive, I did chase it up with the grower but there's been a delay due, apparently, to the "Beast from the East". I'm really not sure how Delia Smith can affect tomato growth.
Now, we are back to John's samples and this time the Bee Balm Frame.
Ingredients
Cream, black and purple card
JND Bee Balm Frame die
JND Ribbon Threader die
JND sentiment
Purple satin ribbon
Black bling
As you can see, the frame can be extended by slotting the die in further along your piece of card.
Had a lovely catch up last week with Davey (the hairy Judith Chalmers) who had returned from a trip to Taiwan and Borneo. He had been to see the Orang Utans at Sepilok and thankfully, they let him back out again lol!!!
We re-bonded over my hot tacos and his crispy churros,
Also met up with another friend, Andy, who used to volunteer for me at Barnardos and we have kept in touch. We met up at a Morrison's cafe (very impressive decaff cappucino) and I ended up coming away with 2 beautiful orchids to add to my collection, otherwise known as two more things for the kittens to knock off the window ledge!!!
They are both twin stemmed an only £5 each...................bargain!!!
And as its been a while since I showed some gratuitous kitty shots, here are our little minxes...................................in quieter moments.
Hope this week is kind to you all.

ReplyDeleteI'm really liking the 'bee balm frame' and your colour choice is very decadent
Good to hear about your social life too, hope it keeps that way
By all means let the kitties know Auntie June is asking them, with no ulterior motive of course!

A lovely card Ang and just my colour. Glad you have been having a good time.
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteFabulous vibrant card and wonderful match of the ribbon and card, you'd think you'd planned it.
I'm pleased you enjoyed your day with Nesta and pre-ordered your cake, it would have been such a shame to miss out on that. But as for your hot tacos, please put them away as it's too much for us of a delicate nature!!
Don't mention orchids to me, they are the bane of my life as people keep giving them to me and they won't die, and I couldn't deliberately ignore them. One is 16 years old on my birthday in September but it's starting to look a bit gnarled - like me ha ha.
Keep well, one us has to fight the good fight!
love Maureen xxx
Oh Ang Hello!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your Post I thought - Maureen will have something to say about the orchids!!! I’m not often right but was on this occasion! I am not great at keeping them alive - 5 years is my limit !!
Now - on to your lovely very card! The design is lovely as are the colours used! I need to use the ribbon threader dies more ! Looking forward to new things this week and your take on them too!
Such docile kittens!! Maybe not!
Love and thanks Myra xx
Hello Ang, love your card, purple has to be one of my favourite colours. Glad to hear you are out and about, and thanks for sharing the photo's, the orchids are beautiful and the felines are peaceful (must be planning their strategies). Take care all. Bx
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang, a really beautiful sample from John's new collection, I am sure he is going to get another sell out with these. The threader addition to it here is brilliant and set's it off to perfection.
ReplyDeleteThe orchids are so beautiful and yes the kittens will, I'm sure, be trying to play hide and seek in between them, lovely photos of them, they look so angelic, butter wouldn't melt in their mouths.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
A beautiful card Ang. I love the colour and design. The orchids are beautiful I am sure the kittens will guard them and hopefully not knock them off the window sill xxx
