When is a Lantern not a Lantern?. . . . . . . .

When its a box!!!

Good morning everyone. Hope you are well.

I must apologise for the photo quality of today's snaps. I have no idea why they look grainy. I did clean the mirror on the inside of my camera so whether that has caused the issue, who knows.
This post should have been on yesterday but I couldn't get the photos to upload.......perhaps that was the laptops way of telling me that the photos were naff lol!!!

Thank you for all of the lovely positive messages about my samples on John's shows. Very kind of you all.

Now, I did flash this one on Facebook, partially completed as John had asked me to pop it on so that was snapped with my phone.
This is the finished version that was shown on TV.
The small lantern was cut 3 times to make the box tall enough to accommodate the can of cocktail.

Ingredients
Cream, pink, plum and purple card
JND Small Lantern dies
JND Ivy die (from The Holly and Ivy set)
JND Mini Star Flowers
Crafts Too 1mm stamens
Gold ribbon
Spectrum Noir pens
2mm pearls
Square pearl embellishment on a roll
Diamante and pearl brooch embellishment (to be on the website shortly)

I think that these must be the smallest fuchsias in the world as they are made with John's Mini Star Flower die. As the stamens are 1mm, you can gauge how tiny they are.

I will be putting several diamante and pearl brooch embellishments on the website. I think that they make fantastic embellishments and also, a nice gift for when the card comes off the mantlepiece.

Well, didn't he do well (as dear Brucie would say)? More sell outs again.

That's me for now. Have got a new TV which is a smart TV (certainly smarter than me) and need to sort out my internet bookmarks to save keep typing everything in.

Hope you enjoyed the shows and thank you again for your kind comments.

  7. Hi Ang, hope you are well. Sorry haven't commented for a while, been as busy as you seem to be lately. You've made some beautiful things for John, as well as for yourself. I've made a few eclipse cards too , and have used foam sheets rather than layers of card behind the letters, as it keeps the weight low and is quicker to do. Hope you are well (health wise) and happy. Janice xx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com

  9. I always look forward to John's shows and seeing what amazing, creative samples you have made to highlight his dies. WOW. I do not know how you come up with your ideas. I love the dainty flowers, so tiny. I'd need a magnifying glass to assemble those.
This lantern die creation really stood out on the show. Good going and good for John on another successful show.

  13. Hello Ang,
This is beautiful and John commented on the Fuschia and gave you a name check on his show. What did you use for a stamen, these really are works of art and tiny gorgeous specimens. I'm looking forward to seeing a card with Wisty flowers as I think it's the nearest I'll get to them!!

I’ve been having trouble posting again! Stop laughing Maureen!
This is my third try - if it doesn’t go I shall email you!! Start praying!
I think what you have made is beautiful! It looks more like china than paper . probably because the fuchsias are so small and delicate! You have lots of patience as well as talent!
    Many thanks,
    Love Myra xx
