Good morning guys and gals and Happy New Year!
Hope that you are all well and recovered from the festivities. We had a quiet Christmas and tackled the EEC turkey mountain.
We popped into Lidl on Christmas Eve, just before closing, to grab a loaf of bread and some salad and ended up being given a 3kg fresh free range bronze turkey crown for free!
They were just emptying the fridges out so I was in the right place at the right time.
It was very nice but I don't think that I would have stretched to the £40 it would have cost. Of course, we already had turkey sorted so I cooked it all (thank heavens for 3 ovens lol!!!) and ate lots, froze lots and The Girls had lots.
Anyhoo, back to the matter in hand and its time for the first MAWTT challenge of 2019.
Wendy has chosen the theme and its..............................................
Music
So, get those creative juices flowing after the Christmas break and lets see your music cards.
This was a card that was sent to Kate's husband, Alistair for his 2018 birthday.
Ingredients
Black and white card
Crafts Too Musical Notes embossing folder
JND sentiment stamps
JND Christmas Music stamps
Black Archival ink
Black blingage
A simple piece (the card, not Alistair) and ideal for a fella who likes fiddling (the musical instrument rather than the taxman).
So, dust off your craft gear and lets see you heading over to MAWTT to join in.
I hope that 2019 is a good one for you all, with good health and happiness.
For those whose 2018 did not end as you expected, I am thinking of you.
See you soon.

Morning Ang, a truly beautiful card, elegant personified, love it. I want to make one like that too.
ReplyDeleteWell you certainly were in the right place at the right time regarding the Turkey, what a treat that must have felt like. I am never that lucky, mind you apart from visiting our son for Christmas lunch I have not ventured out of the door, been snuggling up in my craft room wondering how to get a thingy??? into a pint pot .... or something like that the saying goes. I need to get it sorted but haven't got any room, what should I do.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Happy New year Ang. A lovely card to begin this year I am sure Alistair loved it xx
ReplyDeleteWell Molly has been sleeping in our tree we wondered why there was a hollow in part of it ... xx

ReplyDeleteAnd Happy New Year to you, too, Amg! Your card for Alistair is fabulous! Your execution is flawless, as ever, and I love all that white! I'm quite surprised to hear that Alistair is 2018, however! He looks so amazing for his age!! Happy New Year Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteI would never make a joke about any of your comments like Darnell, well not very often ha ha. The card is brilliant and most suitable for an elderly gent!!!
Your turkey mountain and mine would probably make a good representation of the Alps!! We buckled under it and gave our son in law the carcase and about 10 lbs of turkey so he could make turkey curry, turkey chilli, turkey and pasta, and any other turkey dish he could think up!!
I hope you've been well over the holidays and that the kittens have not destroyed the decorations.
love Maureen xx
Lovely card Ang and pleased to hear you had a good Christmas. Very quiet here. Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, and a very Happy New Year to you too, may you have much improvement in your health and continue being crafty and inspiring others. Glad you had a good Christmas, wow sounds like you had loads of Turkey. The card made for Alistair is absolutely superb, and has given me an idea for one I need to make, sharpish. Have a great day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteGreat card. As I was away over Christmas, no turkey leftovers so I may be scrounging some or inviting myself to dinner!

Love the card, Ang. I see that John has got some dates on his workshop list that say "Ang". Do Jan and I need to put these in our diary? I do hope so.

A lovely card Perfect for men that like to fiddle!
ReplyDeleteSomething similar happened to me years ago when in Lidl In my case it was duck!
A very happy sing song birthday card!
ReplyDeleteThree ovens - WOW! Do you think you have enough ovens!
Did the expensive turkey taste better than the ones you had????
Have a wonderful 2019 Ang!!
Sandy xx

ReplyDeleteAnd three ovens?! lol.

I am catching up after Christmas company & busy-ness. I see that everyone had plenty of turkey (my favorite meat) and there was much creative use of the leftovers. I only had some smoked turkey breast my brother in-law fixed along with smoked salmon (kitties would have loved hanging out here as did the dogs).
ReplyDeleteI still have the tree to take down. I always hate that part of Christmas.
I hope that 2019 is a better year than 2018 and that everyone has good health and happiness in it,
Stephanie K
