Orchid. . . . . . . .

Good morning everyone. I hope that you are all fine.

Well, we have had snow this week. Thankfully not enough to cause much concern but my, its been cold. I've had to try and keep my extremities warm (steady!!!).
Fortunately, there have been no further sightings of the family Flash this week.

Now it comes to something when you've only shown two samples from John's shows on Monday and Tuesday and he's back on TV again. His shows are at 10am and 2pm if you are able to watch. The lovely orchid die will be making its official appearance.
I really enjoyed using this as I still love my orchids (now have 18, I think it is).

Ingredients
White card and dark green card
JND Orchid die
Thick and thin florists wires
Florists tape
Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade distress inks
Rosebud Memento Dew Drop ink
Versamark
Clear embossing powder
Pearlage

I hand cut the leaves and embossed them with clear embossing powder to give them a nice shine.
I stuck some dry florist foam in the bottom of the glass pot and pushed the stem in. I found that a glue dot or foam pad sticks better than trying to use glue, whether normal or hot glue.
I then topped it up and filled the gaps with orchid compost (after I took the photos lol!!!).

I sent a photo to Davey before he jetted off for a Caribbean cruise and he actually thought it was a new real orchid I had added to my collection.......how chuffed was I lol!!!

Well, that's me for today. Just a pic of Molly to close with. Her first ever steps in the snow (she only saw it from indoors last year as they weren't allowed out at the time),
I think the expression says it all lol!!!

  1. Morning Ang, wow, wow, wow is what I can say, you have made these orchids come to life, brilliant. I have ordered the die and stuff so hopefully when it arrives I can have a play, mind you it will not look anywhere near as good as you have done.

We had a little flurry of snow the other day but it was just a tastier I think of what may come our way. For the past 2 years we have been snowed in for a week, that was horrible, I love the picturesqueness (is that a word!!) of snow but it is so treacherous and dangerous, but hey ho, it is the nature of the beast.

John's shows were brilliant, I video'ed them from my PC - as I have windows 10 the video facility is built in to it, all you do is hold the window key down and press G and it comes up with the video option so you press the record and away you go, you can't do anything else on the PC whilst you are taping though. Brilliant idea.

well best get on,, just had a lovely breakfast, so now got to make a box for a commissioned card I have been making, bye for now.

Oh Molly's expression is a picture xx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  6. Hi Ang this is stunning it looks so real. I did see it in person yesterday and it looks even more fabulous up close and personal. John told me that you are very good with orchids and have revived some of his. I would welcome any tips as I usually kill mine and I was given a very nice one for Christmas. We haven't had any snow but it is cold. BTW I did buy the orchid die and the matching stamps and some other bits. Take care. Hugs Jackie

  7. Hello Ang,
This is fabulous, it took my breath away (bet you wish it actually did!). We had a rather nasty couple of days with snow and ice so what Molly would think of it I have no idea - but I love her expression in your photo. George often looks like that when I discuss World affairs with him ha ha.

  14. I don't know anything about orchids and wouldn't dare bring a live one in my house as it would die on the spot. Yours could bloom undisturbed for ages even without water, sun or plant food. I can kill most plants even cacti.
I agree with Molly. Away with the white stuff and cold. Let's have an early spring.
