MAWTT May Challenge

Good afternoon all. Hope that everyone is well.

I am 5 days late with this post (Apologies Wendy and the MAWTT posse) but its been a rough 10 days.
Went into hospital then for a procedure, which went well at the time but then, started feeling rough 3 days later and tested for Covid after another couple of days, which was positive.
Apart from feeling rubbish, I was gutted as we had managed to swerve it for the past 4 years, even having been in hospital a few times during the height of the pandemic.
It was in a private hospital (not paid for by me) with my own room but I still dealt with about 10 staff, most them during the procedure, when I wasn't able to to wear my mask.

So, sadly, thoughts of the blog had gone right out of my head but, here I am, feeling slightly better (as is Mr D) and apologies again for being AWOL.

As mentioned, this is a MAWTT challenge post and this month, the challenge is ..........

As you all know, I am partial to a flower or two so this was right up my street.

Ingredients
Plain and linen card
Brown card
SB Carnation Creations dies
Fern dies (Not sure what brand I used)
Cherry Lynn Sweet Christine die
Circle die
The embossing folder is an A4 one, but the labelling has rubbed off. CE maybe.
Distress inks
Versamark
Ultra thick embossing powder

I've done a couple of vase style cards and I enjoyed fiddling around with them.
For this vase, I cut a circle out of some plain brown card, then chopped off the top and bottom.
I then embossed it with the folder and covered it in Versamark, ultra thick embossing powder and heat set it. This gives it a glazed appearance. If you want a very shiny glaze, add another layer of powder.
Give it a bit of dome and raise the central area on pads.
Hope that makes sense.

Well, that's me for today. Please pop over to MAWTT to see what the rest of the guys have come up with and of course, it would be fab if you entered the challenge.

Have a good week and hopefully see you soon, Covid free!!!

  1. What a lovely card; I'm sure your team mates will forgive any lateness. Great to hear that the procedure has been successful but sad to hear you got Covid. Same thing happened to my Hubby when he had his pacemaker battery replaced - caught it at the hospital (although it wasn't a private one). He missed his 75th Birthday as he was so poorly. Hope you're feeling a lot better now. WakeyL
