Snowflakey Swirls. . . . . . . .

Good morning one and all. How's it hanging today? If you've got any sense, you'll keep whatever is hanging under wraps as its a bit nippy round the trossachs.

Just as you think its safe to ditch the winceyette liberty bodice, you get icicles hanging from exposed apendages.
My pal Davey, who is a weather aficionado, has forecast another cold front next week. I tell you, my front couldn't get anymore cold if it tried.

Well, I went to hospital to have my nuclear scan.........and there was no scan!
I was injected with some radioactive molecule and then had to have blood tests at 2 hour, 30min, 30min and 1 hour intervals but no scan. Now, I may not be the brightest light bulb in the pack but the consultant did say he was referring me for a scan and described what it would show.
So, I shall be getting in touch to find out if there is another delightful visit to the hospital on the cards for an actual scan.
I've ended up with bruised and sore arms from all the needle action but I shall resist the deep urge to make a joke about small pricks.
I note that the WART commando unit have kept away under fear of being irradiated. There is a Ready Brek type glow around Chateau Canard so I think its safe until that dissipates.
I did worry at seeing a flash of red in the sky but thankfully it was that blood moon rather than Maureen's inherited bloomers.

Now, back to the card (for those who haven't nodded off). I'm back in my Christmas 2016 folder again (Sorry Wendy A, the last card was 2016 too so I am not in the least bit organised lol!!!.........and, the remains of the Mr B drone were deposited in the neighbours litter tray and are now on their way to the tip). Jayne, please keep your friend under control even if it takes a poke with your crutches.

White card
Silver mirror card
CE Frosty Swirls embossing folder
SB Snowflake Pendant 2013 dies
Silver Krylon pen
Pearlage

I know its a simple card but simple can be good, as I tell Mr D on a regular basis.

I did mean to thank Suzzie Q for advising me about the article you posted, much appreciated, and thank you for all of your kind comments about my foray into Foamiran.
I have added some new products to the website (including the new Izink Metallic Pigment ink pads) and am hoping there is a delivery of Foamiran today so that can be added too.

Thank you for your visit and kind comment Welsh Dors. Hope you can drop by again soon.

That's me for now as Mr D is off today and I will try and drag him shopping as John and I have the workshop on Sunday so its a busy weekend.

Enjoy your Friday.

  1. Morning Ang, oh poor you, expecting a scan and to then have the blood tests. I don't know if I could manage that as I have a serious needle phobia. You would not think that with 3 tattoos though. Hope it gets sorted and the results at least show something. Love your card, very elegant and using one of my favourite embossing folders, I had used it on my cards last year. Anyway, take care and enjoy the shopping, hope the workshop goes well too. Have a good day everyone. Bx

  2. Morning Ang I love the C AS of this card . I might have to replicate it and try something similar. I want to get organised and start my Xmas cards early - but I say that every year lol. You survived the hospital I remember my daughter having the radioactive scan when she was young the monitor was a lovely neon green colour. Have a great weekend xx

  4. Good morning Ang sorry you were disappointed at the hospital but perhaps the scan follows the blood tests if it is needed? Now ever since I was a girl I've adhered to the saying "ner cast a clout till May be out" so you are being a bit premature ditching the bodice yet!! I'm doing one of John's workshops tomorrow so we'll send him back in good form for Sunday and hope you have an enjoyable day. Love from Jackie xx

  7. So stunning! You have the most amazing collection of embossing folders, but this one is definitely one of my favourites! It really creates a sense of motion with the flurries and the flakes, such an amazing texture pattern for a winter card! Your layered snowflake is beautiful, love the pearl center on the silver topper! I've searched everywhere for foamarian in Canada, we are such a non crafty country, it's hard to find anything local!! sending healing hugs to you :)

  8. Hello Ang,
A really lovely card. I do like it a lot!
I seem to have missed one! That’s typical of me! Sorry!
I’m glad all went well at Hospital but I wonder what happened to the Scan! I’m not a fan of needles either!
Did you know Maureen has a “ chronic”paper cut on her finger!!
    Love Myra xx

  10. Your snowflake design is lovely. I am having another snow today even though the last snow is still laying around my yard and driveway. Big winds and COLD, too. More snow to come on Sunday and next week. So sorry the medical team can not seem to get their act together. I pray you do not now have to get the scan. If you have some vitamin E oil, liquid or capsule, if you will apply the liquid to your bruised pricked places the vitamin E oil will help clear up those places. My husband used to be a pin cusion, too, and this is what I used for his bruises. It seemed to help him.

  11. Hello Ang,
Only you could go for a scan and end up being used as a pin cushion. I did notice and eerie glow in the sky over the duck pond, but just thought it was Brusho powders! I hope the Hospital have done all they need to do and that some answers and remedies are in the pipeline.
Take no notice of Myra, she's jealous because my little finger paper cut has mystified the Medical Institution and has even been written up in The Lancet!!! (Or is it that I should be in a Medical Institution ha ha.)
Take care, keep breathing and enjoy the workshop with John, don't forget to keep him in order.
    love Maureen x

  13. You do make me smile Ang Your story about the blood tests reminded me of a friend who whilst training to be a biochemist spent some time in pathology Oneday he was working in the antenatal clinic This young pregnant girl cameinto the cubicle He uttered the words”just a little prick” to which she replied “that’s what the boyfriend said and now look at me” He changed his script to “sharp scratch” after that
This is a beautiful card Ang I love that embossing folder xx

Hope you weather is going to warm up soon as I really don't want to find snow hanging around when I get there in late April. weather is crazy here last weekend we had over 30 degrees followed during the week with one day of 16 would you believe.
Sorry to here the vampires have been at you again drawing blood. Lets hope they have found some answers to you health issues this time.
    Enjoy your weekend.

  16. Hi Ang, fabulous card but I have to say that you are a bit late for 2016 Christmas, it must be all this nuclear treatment you are having perhaps it has flipped you back in time.
Do hope that your results are good and you can get the treatment you need to get you back to your sane(?) self.
    Hugs Wendyx

  17. Hi Ang,
this is such a very super card and your embssing is so gorgeous.
    Love the snowflake also.
I too have a mountain of last years Christmas ones to show too that I didn't get chance to show.
My that sounds rediculous all that injections and no scan.
I do so hope you haven't got to go back.
I remember when I hade to have a scan on my eyes now this was to be done at Canterbury Hospital which is about 20 miles from me.
My appointment was for 9AM and I had to have drops in my eyes every 15 mins for an hour before I had the scan which they injected iodine in my hand to look at the back of my eyes so it all shows up.
Well we had to leave the house at 7 AM to get there and sit and hour putting the drops in my eyes each 15 mins before my appointment.
I tell you that was a big pain in the butt not the eyes. LOL, and then I found out they could have done it at my local hospital I was not a hppy bunny I can tell you.
Love and big crafty hugs from my house to yours. Jenny L.

  19. Did you ask them at the hospital about the scan and tell them that your doctor told you it would be a scan. You know people do make mistakes and they could have had someonelse's orders. I am sorry you had to go through all that and not have results from a scan.
You are so funny Ang - you do make me laugh. Sometimes I don't understand your use of the British language but that's okay - I have a good imagination!!
Your card could not possibly be any more gorgeous - One very beautiful card!!!!!
Do keep us up to date!!

  21. Haha, simple! You're a hoot, Ang! That is not my idea of simple! That's my idea of sophisticated and sensational! I hope you felt good and had a great time with your busy weekend!

I'm so sorry about the scan. I can't say what I think about the situation on a public blog. We're supposed to think all these things happen for a reason even if we can't image what that is, so deep breath and carry on ... just as you're doing! I'm very proud of you and your sense of humor and your stamina!! Hugs and love, Darnell
