When is a Birdcage not a Birdcage. . . . . . .The Sequel

Good morning everyone. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Thank you so much for your kind birthday wishes on my last post.
Apologies for being missing again. I don't know where time goes these days. I am all behind (in more ways than one) again with my blog visits too but have been trying to catch up.

Now, back to the "When is a Birdcage Not a Birdcage" series from the samples that I made for John and today's answer is.............when its a Christmas bauble!!!
Mr D did comment that it looked like the thing that Joe 90 sat in but I think that he is showing his age there lol!!!

Ingredients
Cream and red card
Gold mirror card
JND Birdcage die
Crafters Companion Christmas Jumper embossing folder
Dovecraft sentiment die
2mm Jonquil diamante chain (on my website)

Its probably not clear on the photos but I foam padded the forward 2 baubles with 0.5mm and 1mm foam tape to give dimension.

I hope that these ideas are showing how versatile this particular die set can be.

I also wanted to clarify from my last post that John did not make my birthday cake, it was part of my pressie. It was either Mr Marks or Mr Spencer who obliged with the baking.lol!!! And very delicious it was too!

That's me for now. I hope that this coming week treats you kindly and you have lots of warm sunshine.

TTFN
Ang x

  1. Morning Ang, what a superb use of a birdcage die to make a Christmas card (I am already starting to wonder if I will get my cards done this year). I have to agree about time flying by, I seem to be behind on everything lately, partly due to work, which ends up with me sending belated birthday cards. Hey ho, the bills need to be paid. Have a great day everyone and take care. Bx

I have made a few Christmas cards so far this year, mainly with candles on them but will have to check out this idea.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  6. Clever Very clever! It makes a very elegant Christmas card I wish I had ideas like that The dies are what they are whenever I use them
I couldn’t see it at first but as I must be a similar age to Mr D I can see where he’s coming from!

  11. I loved this idea and that you saw so much in the dies in the first place. I think that when someone receives this Christmas card, they will only see baubles and not bird cages.
June is here and I hate to see summer rushing as I am not a fan of cold weather. We will be going on vacation soon and I thought Christmas was barely behind me.
    Everyone, have a wonderful Monday,

  19. Hi Ang

Belated birthday greetings from me and Mr F. I'm only just getting back to visiting blogs (I've already said that on the musical post/wisty teasing post)

I love being able to adapt a die for something completely different

    Take care
