Good morning my little Duckadees. In the interests of diversity, today I shall ask if you are as fit as the fishmongers cat.
Todays creation was a card I made for my best chum to give her niece, to congratulate her and her fella on their engagement. I'm hoping that the card is now with the recipient so taking the chance of displaying it. I am also hoping that it doesn't fluoresce as much as my Purple Peril.
Her wedding colour scheme is purple and gold so that's what I went with. Also, best chum wanted a less is more card so hopefully I achieved that.
I started with a base card cut to 8x8 from an A3 sheet of PMD purple card.
On to this, I matted a smaller piece of gold mirror card which I had pierced around the edges.
The top layer is a smaller piece of purple card. I used a corner punch to round them off, then punched hearts out of each corner, then ran it through the GC with the Pronty Heart of Flower Mask Stencil to emboss it.
I then cut a heart out of using a Sissix heart die and then with the resulting heart I cut a smaller heart from that too.
I foam mounted the top layer to the gold mat along with the small heart I had cut, then punched some hearts from gold mirror card and stuck them around the embossing and on the centre heart.
The sentiment was just stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder, then mounted on to gold mirror card.
I am awaiting feedback from the recipient but my chum loved it. Hope that you all like it too.
Close ups below and thanks for popping by the pond.

ReplyDeleteAng. Great card and colours and if that's their colours for their day they will love it more. It's that personal touch that makes it special. That's where hand made comes into it's own right.

Hello Mrs Duck, or Ang, found you through Hazel's blog and your blog name intrigued me so thought I would pay a visit, and so pleased I did.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful creations you have here, this one is just stunning and aren't they unusual colours for a wedding.
Wonderful design and with such a personal touch, just can't go wrong.
I will look forward to more of your lovely cards, Kate x
Very pretty, embossing looks good, xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang
ReplyDeleteI have to say fishmongers cat suits me better as a fish eating veggie! LOL! Now for the card you have filled the bill perfectly it is well presented and I love the embossing it is lovely but somehow I cannot envisage in any shape or form a purple and gold wedding how that will go with pale summer outfits of the guests in the photos I am not too sure but thank God we are not all alike in our tastes.! LOL!
Sounds like a throw back to the seventies. I remember us painting a house on the outside purple I bet our neighbours were horrified but we just wanted to be different, so that may be the case here! It is definitely that!!
Anyway we can only do what we are asked with orders can't we?

Good evening Ang.
ReplyDeleteManaged to get my head up from Hazel`s order........
Great card loving what you have done with the embossing, I like it.
Heather wonders about a "Purple and Gold" wedding. We were at one 2 years ago and it actually was rather nice even if it was not what I would have chosen.
As far as the guests outfits, that I am sure was the furthest thing from the Brides thoughts when she was planning her day.
Come on Heather they are ................only the Guests...LOL!!!
Have a Great weekend

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheery card - and that's what congratulations are all about really. Bit too bold for me personally but if the friend liked what she saw then well done you.
Best wishes Jackie
Very pretty colors and card design.
