Good morning chaps and chapesses. . . . . . .Brrrrr, brrrrr and brrrrr again!!! So far resisting the central heating but my Shaun the Sheep blanket is poised and ready.
Thank you so much everyone for your kind comments and congratulations on my challenge win. I really enjoy seeing what everyone has to say on here and on your blogs (those who have them). It warms the heart, if not the feet lol !!!
Glad Hazel has finally made it over the big pond. I bet the scenery and wildlife in Canada is stunning but here's hoping Hazel doesn't get a bear behind. . . . . . . ahem!!!
Now, back to a festive card today. Before I start, I must say that the swirly background card is a sheet of Hunkydory Adorable Scorable that I thought looked nice to photograph the card on.
The card base is an A4 sheet of white hammered card (PMD) I matted this with a smaller sheet of gold mirror card (gutted in the middle. . . . . .yes, I do squeak when I walk lol !!!) I then took another piece of white card to and stamped a Dovecraft Christmas Borders stamp in Versamark along the bottom and heat embossed with gold EP. I then stuck this onto the gold mirror layer.
Next I used the GC to cut the middle SB Elegant Labels Four and 2nd smallest Decorative Labels Eight dies out of red card and the smallest Decorative Labels 28 out of gold mirror card. I then cut the same Decorative Labels 28 die from the middle of the Elegant Labels Four piece to make a frame.
I had already cut a gold mirror Elegant Labels Four previously and kept the "bits". I stuck the "bits" of gold card into the apertures (I know I could have just stuck a whole piece of gold card behind but I wanted the dimension from the "bits"
I foam padded this to the base card and then stuck the gold label 28 flat in the centre.
The sentiment is Indigo Blu stamped onto the Labels Eight piece with Versamark, and heat embossed with Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder. I then rubbed Indigo Blu Chariot of Fire Gilding Flakes onto this (if you're reading this Jacquie, its the stuff I mentioned on your post yesterday) and popped it onto the card. . . . . then, Bob's your Auntie's husband!!!
By the time this post rears its head, I will have been up one hour and 15 minutes (4.45am roll out of my pit) watching the Japanese GP qualifying session. . . . . . .more of the same for the actual race tomorrow too . . . . . .fuelled with caffeine.
Mr Duck was actually at McLaren's HQ yesterday to do with work and bought me back a "gift". . . . . .a map of the site !!! Signed photo of Jenson Baby? No. . . . . Photo of Ayrton Senna's car? No. . . . . . a bloomin map !!! That's why I do the Christmas shopping. The man's perception of a "gift" is not the same as mine.
Have a great day folks. Keep warm and well.

I have a guy who is exactly the same. Definitely at the end of the queue when imagination was given out - in fact I think he had probably gone to the loo and missed it altogether! He's pretty useless at the gifts. Anyway, back to your card. The red and gold is great and the border is a great idea. And why would you waste all that fabulous gold card hidden behind something else? A girl after my own heart - I do it too. Have a good day - a great day for you here 'cause I reckon I'll be swimming to the shops today! Love and hugs from Christine xx
ReplyDeleteHello Ang, love your card such a gorgeously bright and festive design. I loved how you do the fading out frame around them.
ReplyDeleteI remembered one Christmas I said to my dearest, I wasn't really wanting a present, but we girls know that's code for I really want something special, well on the day, he gave me a can of Tango, a bag of liquorice, crisps and a small box of his favourite chocs. It was a very frosty day.
Enjoy the F1, my son will be glued to it too, hugs Kate X
Morning Ang, You have made me laugh today! Typical man eh? I hope you frame the map and stick it on the wall lol!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful, must say I thought before reading your comment that the Red background was part of the card, silly me! That would have looked great too.
Love the boarder too.
Thank you for the info on the embossing powder, can't say I have ever heard of it or saw it, must keep a look out, thank you. Glue is rather messy I had gold fingers by the time I had finished and still so in the morning when I went to work as it would not wash off lol!
Have a great weekend.
Love & Hugs

ReplyDeleteDo not get the name if Granny Whizz for nothing
Loving your beautiful card, that image border looks really effective.
Men!!! Where in heavens name do they get their so called "imagination" from??? Mine was in the same queue as yours I think. No that should be yours was in the same queue as mine. Mine is a lot older and they certainly have not improved the "imagination" formula in the years between.
You really made me laugh reading about Mr Duck. . Remember he was thinking about you!!
Have a great week
Hugs
