Best Wishes . . . . . . . to you all

Good morning* duckadees. Here's hoping that you are well and if not, I hope that you get better soon.
I send particular best wishes to Val in Spain. Poor Val has lost her precious cat Bertie to illness so big hugs to you chuck. I have passed on folks kind words from my last post to Val.
Welcome back to John from his sojourn across the Med, hopefully minus an eyepatch and a bandana.
Work is still busy but I guess its the time of year. Its just a shame its causing a physical condition called Craftus Interruptus. I think you can get a cream for it lol !!! Its also playing havoc with my Brazillian F1 Qually session tomorrow. Thankfully I'm not working Sunday for the actual race or hysteria may have set in. If I get get taken on permanently, I will have to supply them with a race calendar for 2014 and tell them to work around that. . . . . . . should go down well eh?

Now, today's card is one that I'm entering in the HOC Classic and Elegant Challenge for November (see here). I know I usually work with a muted colour pallette (snigger) but I went for the dramatic using the options given. . . . . . .

color nature

It is a cream base with layers of black and orange card topped with a piece of First Edition Noir et Chic paper from a 6x6 pad (love this pad) and some orange organza ribbon.

Sentiment stamped onto the cut out second smallest SB Decorative Labels Eight, inked with distress inks. Couple of bits of peach bling in the corners and voila !!!

Hope its not too left field for folks but wish me luck.

Have a wonderful weekend all and keep warm.

  1. I love your take on the challenge. The black really makes the orange stand out. I got a laugh out of the medical condition "Craftus Interruptus." I have the same symptoms it seems. Thanks for joining us at House of Cards. I love seeing your cards.

This is so gorgeous, I love the colour palette, just beautiful. The papers and ribbon are fabulous too. I like this die, don't think I have seen Labels Eight but I do like it!

I fully understand how work can cause Craftus Interruptus, I am having big trouble with that myself of late lol!

Oh do get them a calender they will so love you for it lol!

Take care, enjoy your race this week.

  6. Good morning Ang, think I'm needing the cream too, just can't get into Christmas and have only made one card mainly due to circumstances....after being without hot water and central heating for the past two weeks it was lovely to get up this morning without shivering and have a lovely hot shower and warm towel - no more kettle boiling to have a wash or knocking on friends' doors to ask to use the shower! So I must really get down to things this week. Got practice on at the moment so hope you have the tape set for quali - or am I alone in using a VHS recorder......anyway enjoy the race and make sure you sort things out for next year.

After all my ramblings, your card I love, "delightfully understated" I think is the description, love the colours and the design and if I was judging you would win first place again. Have a good weekend, best wishes Jackie

  7. Hi Ang. Love the card. Such pretty colours and the organza bow is beautiful. Thanks Ang and ladies for your sympathy especially Kate, Shirley and Wendy.
Pretty chilly over here in Spain in fact I'm sitting here with my coat on. Oh for carpets and central heating - only in the winter of course.
    Have a good weekend.
    Love Val x

  14. Hi Ang,

You don't need any luck, the card is lovely and a winner but just in case the judges need new specs, I have everything crossed.

Been out all day today so haven't a clue about the qualifying for F1 but will make up for it tomorrow for the race.

    Much love,
