Good afternoon folks. Today is the March House of Cards CAS/Classic challenge, which is add a button (or 20 if you like lol!). Click here to have a peek and hopefully you will have a go.
Also, happy St Patrick's Day to anyone who is celebrating.
Been a busy few days with work, MOT and service on Shaun (my car . . . . . passed thankfully) and sorting a leaking inlet hose on the washer dryer . . . . . Thank heavens for next door being a plumber. Would have done it myself (I did plumb our dishwasher in by myself) but our kitchen stopcock would not budge, even with Mr D's brute strength so we had to call the cavalry. Hoping this lovely warm weather lasts to dry out where its leaked.
Now, today's card is a A5 cream card base, layered in black (before I thought about the felt tip trick) and fuchsia pink PMD card.
I then took a layer in cream card and cut each edge with my Super Striplet, using only half the width of the die.
I topped it of with some SB Delicate Asters in cream, tipped with pink ink and their leaves inked with Bundled Sage and Shabby Shutters.
Now, you all know I'm not a button or twine kinda gal so I had to go out and buy buttons. These caught my eye as they were flower shaped and had the diamante centre (brings out the magpie in me)
Just to show you they are buttons rather than embellishments, this is one on my pokey tool.
I popped the buttons onto the centres of my asters and was happy with the effect.
To finish off, I added the sentiment on one of the SB Fancy Framed Tags One and a bit of bling underneath.
Hope you feel inspired to enter the challenge.
I'm feeling a bit better but still tempted by the Dyson lol! Wasn't massively impressed with these new F1 cars. They sound like souped up lawnmowers (with a similar reliability factor by the look of them) Yes Jackie, does make for an interesting season.
Have a great week folks and be good.

Ang. Your card is stunning I love everything you have done, that snippets die is lovely. Glad you haven't gone down the dyson route, but I know how you are feeling. Hope you are feeling better soon. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Ang, I love everything about it, especially your blooms with the lovely little buttons.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a menthol steam inhilation, maybe you've given that a go though, but if not it might help you. However, take care of yourself, hugs Kate x
Gorgeous card Ang and the buttons look perfect. xxx
ReplyDeleteOH my word, where did you get those fabulous buttons?! LOVE this card, friend! Gorgeous colors and a super fabulous use of buttons! :) HUGS and have a great week! Mynn xx

ReplyDeleteLoving everything on your stunning card.
Your Aster flowers are so pretty with the wonderful buttons.

Hi Ang, sorry you are still feeling a bit under the weather. yesterday's GP probably didn't help, found it all a bit boring. Need noise when cars go by!!! Not boring though is your card, pretty and bright and I see the striplet is out again and I love the buttons so I'm sure you will do very well in the challenge. Best wishes Jackie

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Ang. I had to look up the Striplets - no idea what they were until I googled them lol! I love the flowers, want/need that die lol! A really beautiful creation.
ReplyDeleteThe cars are not as noisy this year but I am hoping things will improve as the season gets in full swing. It was a bit dull yesterday though - methinks more oomph is required! x
I just enjoy reading your blog posts - bring out the Magpie in me, haha!!! I would have fallen for those pretty buttons, too! Those flowers you created are gorgeous, Ang!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty buttons which finish off those gorgeous asters beautifully. I really lurve the aster die. Lovely card. Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang
ReplyDeleteLovely use of the striplet die. I've been dithering about these two dies - each time I see them used, I like them more and more! Sooooooo disappointed about the gp - ugly noses and lawn mover engines. The commentators all seemed to be putting a brave face on things, but I didn't believe them! Still good to see a different line up on the podium
Best wishes

Hi Ang. Your Asters are gorgeous! Love the buttons you found, perfect finush to your flowers. OK, for the Yankee here... please explain GP and cars? Maybe a race of some kind? Thanks and have a great day.
ReplyDeleteHi Ang! Your not the only one who likes men in fast cars! Dear Hubby races the quarter mile track near our house at 90 miles per hour in a Chevrolet Vega(muscle car). An expensive hobby to say the least. But he loves it so I let him as long as his insurance policy is paid up, LOL.
ReplyDeleteWow awesome card here, love the buttn's and asters. Hope your weather is better, ours is till hottish, enough to still swim.xx
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous Ang, love the design and the flowers are gorgeous especially with those lovely buttons.

Hi Ang, what a beautiful card, the flowers are gorgeous and made even more so with those amazing buttons! Love the colours, perfect for a Springtime card! The decorative edge on the white panel is so pretty and feminine! Ruth x
ReplyDeleteLove the card! Why is it that my button box has absolutely nothing in it that would look good in the middle of Aster flowers?
ReplyDeleteHi Ang - just popped over to have a look at your blog and saw this gorgeous card. Love the aster die myself and those little blobs on the end of the petals are brilliant. I did try to become a follower but I think there is a problem on the Follower thingy - 'cos I can't get on anyone's follower button. However, I will keep trying. Hoping we meet each other on Friday - woo hooo
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Sue Pxxx
