Good morning my little Duckadees. Hope you're all full of the joys of Spring. Its been warming up in this bit of The Pond and we have been treated to some glorious sunshine. This is a picture heavy post towards the end, I'm afraid, as I wanted to share a bit of my Spring with you all.
Apologies for the delay since my last post. Mr Duck has been a very naughty boy! I let him loose on my laptop the other day and he pressed things he shouldn't have and somehow ended up installing the horrendous Internet Explorer 8 and altering all my Google and Gmail settings. Consequently, I have spent some time having to sort all this out.
I had a little chat with him on the lines of "silly Mr Duck, don't mess with technology, especially mine" or something similar, I forget the exact phrases I used, ahem!
Anyhoo, more importantly, welcome back Maggie. Oh its so nice to see you commenting again and you are more than welcome to come and paddle whenever you like chuck. Hope sunnier days are just around the corner.
Now, today's card is a nice flat one as its for a friend's birthday next month and needs to be posted. As the Post Office are putting the postage up again (I thought robbery was still a crime in this country) its more of a consideration now.
Its an A5 cream card base matted and layered with black and lilac PMD card. I went down the black layer route as John had done it on a card recently (I think it was John) and it really made a difference.
I cut another layer in the cream card and out of this I cut the flourish from SB Fanciful Holiday on each side and 3 SB Medallion One from the centre. Sentiment heat embossed in lilac embossing powder (25p bargain from work) and a bit of bling.
All layers stuck together flat (no foam pads at all) and voila, simple but quite pretty if I may say so.
Now, for a few Spring pics from my garden. Sorry, there's a few. . . . .
Some of our geraniums, still alive from last Summer |
Our beautifully scented Daphne |
One of our pretty Bergenia's |
And the epitome of Spring to me. . . . . . |
The gorgeous Daffodil, sunshine on a stem!!! |
Hope that you all haven't nodded off hahaha. If you made it this far, thank you and see you soon.

Hi Ang, MEN when will they ever learn to don't fix what is working OK. Glad to hear you were able to undo it. I am not so intelligent I downloaded Chrome and use that for my blogging. Your card is lovely, lilac is such a gentle colour and your design is so sweet.

Good morning Ang,

WOW!!! Your garden flowers are wonderful, we have a few crocus but that's it!! Along the village we do have lots of snowdrops.
The trees are beginning to show buds so YES!!! Spring is coming.
Might even get the UGGS off soon
Have a great day

Good morning Ang
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card today I love these colours lilac is one of my favourites.
Yes spring is definitely in the air. Our bulbs are popping up everywhere even in places I didn't think I'd put them lol!
We're off to Southend to see my in-laws today so better get off my iPad and go and get ready before hubby loses his rag lol!
Hugs Sue C x
Good Morning Ang. Very pretty card and so nice and thin. This is the way to go especially as you say with the postage going up again.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see Spring arriving over there. it´s be a long time coming but seeing the beautiful daffodils must be so uplifting. They are one of my favourite flowers which are few and far between over here. I do have some planted in my garden but they appear in about August and die pretty well straight away as it´s too hot for them.
Enjoy your day.
Love Val x
Gorgeous card Ang, love the colour.
ReplyDeleteI adore daffs, they too are spring to me . xxx
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteLove the card and I have that die!!!! Thank you. A big thank you too for the pics. Oh it made my day seeing the daffs. Ours are still tight buds but having said that I am rural and high above our village so it takes a while longer for our flowers to appear. Cant wait!!
Much love,
Shirley T. xxx
Hi lovely Ang,
ReplyDeleteI adore your flowers, and actually was hoping to see your garden in full view :) We are still having the dry spell and heat wave...hopefully no water ration as yet. The grass on my lawn has turn brown a month ago. I repotted some plants and still going. My little girl is into planting too, her vegie seeds have grown now and I'm going to move them into big pots. Oh yes, your card is so pretty. I wish I have die machine but sadly, it's still in my wish list; hope to get Sizzix one day but you can imagine the price in RM. Glad you can fix the new settings...I never like sharing sometimes...lol.
Hugs and smiles,
Asmah
Good morning Ang and yes, you may so, your card is so pretty, I'm sure your friend will love it. I have a beautiful show of bergenias at the moment, I don't think I have ever seen so many flowers on them and as they cover quite a large area - saves on the weeding - they are really quite spectacular. Add to that the primulas, anemones and all the heathers plus a few daffodils ready to burst and to follow you, if I say so myself, it looks quite pretty!! I trust Mr Duck feels suitable chastised and has apologised in goods as well as words - might as well be a bit mercenary!! Enjoy the sunshine as you paddle, best wishes Jackie
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, gorgeous card, love the colours, bargain embossing powder wow!
ReplyDeleteWe have daffodils in our garden but they are still in bud at the moment, tulips and other bulbs are coming through, I love it when all the Spring flowers come out. Lots of other plants beginning to show buds so hopefully we don't have too many frosts like last night else we might lose some.
I am sure Mr Duck will leave well alone after your little talk, Men and technology ay?
Love & Hugs

Lovely card Ang and glad you managed to get a bargain! Love the flowers, I am waiting for my daffodils to open too and have some colour in the garden!xx
ReplyDeletePretty card, and my daffs are out, like yours (I plant a lot of the little ones, because they seem to flower first). I don't have a Daphne, I've managed to kill three, so I've come to the conclusion that they don't like our winters.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Ang. Another stunning card today and purple which is one of my favour colours, oh dear Mr Duck did over step the mark by messing about with your lap top, I don't think he will be doing that again in a hurry. We have lots of snowdrops and our dafs are in bud. The Canada geese are still here so it is still to cold. It was lovely to see your photos of your flowers. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteOoh, this is lovely and I do love lilac. My geraniums are still alive too and even my fuschia is blooming. The lane up to my house is absolutely covered in snowdrops. I think because it has been so wet it has been good for them because I don't think I've ever seen quite so many for a long time. hUgs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, the multi layers of colour really draw your eye in. Your spring flowers look lovely too, 25p for EP - that's a bargain x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Very elegant! Your flowers are so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the welcome back Ang,
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and delicate card.
Lovely pics of your garden. What a talented lady you are - pretty garden, pretty cards ...
There are two places my husband is barred from touching,my iPad and my handbag. So I am with you on your harsh reprimand to Mr Duck!
Hope you have a happy day.
We leave tomorrow to come to UK - rugby at Twickenham on Sunday. At least I will be able to visit a craft shop (or two) in exchange!

Good morning from Aussie.Angie...what a wonderful and gorgeous creation to wake up to...love all the added beauties and I just LOVE your gorgeous spring flowers...we can feel the change in climate here but I still had a swim as we have solar heating so the pool was warm...lots and lots of rain though which adds the rotten humidity....xxAnnie
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing your comments on Sue J's posts ands my curiosity has finally gotten the better of me. I'm sure I have this medallion shape but didn't realise it would cut like this. Hadn't heard the bit about the Post Office putting it's charges up again either. Think I must have my head in the sand or something. Anyways your card looks very elegant especially with the colourway you have chosen. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeletelove your really great way of thinking when designing your cards. You always think outside the box where the die cit are concerned.

Now what a naughty Mr Duck to create so much of a prob for you on your laptop.
Bread and water rations me thinks. lol.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
