Good morning my paddling chums. What a fabulous day yesterday. Its so good to feel the Sun on the old feathers and we have been enjoying salads for tea ( with rather yummy home made carrot, radish, apple and walnut coleslaw. . . . . Mmmmmm).
The wisteria and lilac smell sweet outside the kitchen and last years geraniums and begonias, that survived the winter, are already in flower.
Mr and Mrs B, the resident blackbirds, have had their first brood and yesterday, Mr B came into the kitchen and sang through the living room door to get Mr Duck's attention for more grapes. No mean feat as he hopped about 12ft across the kitchen. When Mr Duck went to sort him, he just turned tail and hopped to the back door, left a present on the floor and hopped out again and waited for his grapes! The joys of wildlife eh?
Before any further ado, I'd like to welcome Lorraine Taylor to The Pond. Hope you may like to jump in and comment sometime but thank you so much for following.
Thank you all again for your kind comments as usual. Well Jackie, the Mercedes boys did have it all their own way last week. Seems to set the scene for the rest of the season methinks. Val, my commiserations for Liverpool but good to see them on the rise to former glories. And how exciting, the Scottish Posse will be winging their way south in November for the NEC again, yay! Hopefully, the Harvester won't recognise us from last year. I think the staff may be out of therapy by now lol!
Now, today's card I made some weeks ago for a colleague who was leaving to have a baby (its due in a couple of weeks). I downloaded the pics and forgot about it with all the both bits and bobs going on. Hope you don't mind me showing it now.
A list of ingredients, as I'm sure you can see how its put together. . . . . . . .
White card (base A5 in size)
Baby blue card
Docrafts New Arrival topper
Crafts Too Baby embossing folder
SB Scalloped Ovals die set
X-Cut Alphabet die
Tumbled Glass DI
John's Pearls, coloured with Metallic Blue Promarker.
Simple but sweet I hope. I wasn't in for Lauren's leaving but I did have a few colleagues come up to me and said she was thrilled with the card and pressie (2 pairs of Mickey Mouse jim jams for the little fella) and they loved the card too. Its nice to have ones efforts appreciated.
Now, I have to get stuck into several cards for the coming couple of weeks; both design teams, 3 birthday cards, a diamond anniversary (the one I did the acceptance card for last week) and a ruby anniversary too. . . . . phew!
Hope you all get some time out to enjoy the good weather. Just makes ya smile to feel the Sun on your cheeks. . . . . . . the ones on your face, hahaha!
Be good.

Fab card Mrs D - simple but luvly - not surprised the card was loved xx I have a tail about colouring pearls!! I used a 'grass' green coloured pro-marker to colour some pearls for a card that will be on my blog soon - well when I looked at them in the daylight I was not impressed as they looked streaky so tried colouring them again in situ (say no more) so the card was deconstructed (a nice word for pulling the topper away from the base) I have made another card now using the same topper and I actually prefer the second one xx think it was because I coloured the largest CE pearls so it shows up more - I coloured some smaller ones and they look fine xx thanks for the tip xx GailT xx

ReplyDeleteGood morning Ang and what a sweet little card for the new arrival. I do find your blackbirds amusing though I don't suppose you find their "present" so. Had a lovely day out with our U3A gardening group yesterday and sitting and admiring someone else's garden while having afternoon tea made me feel as if I was on holiday it was so warm and pleasant. My diamond anniversary card went down well and with the ruby anniversary for someone who lives in the village coming up soon most of the ruby cards I have made have been sold. The main problem was making different styles even though the recipients know "I'm the only card maker in the village" - well, not really but probably the main one!! Anyway, enjoy the sunshine, best wishes Jackie
ReplyDeleteLovely Baby Card Ang, the embossing is so clear it looks lovely , have fun splashing .

Hi Ang. What a cute baby card. Especially love the embossing. Never seen that stencil before. Your little Blackbird family sound really bold. How lovely that they feel secure to come in (and poop) in your house.
