Good morning, one and all. Hope this finds you well. A bit chillier in these here parts and for the Scottish Posse, I bet its nippy round the Trossachs! (have to say, my Trossachs need an extra layer at this time of year lol!!!).
Hopefully, Blogger behaves and this post goes live when it should today.
A warm welcome to the Pond to Margaret. Nice to have you come paddle with us. Also, hello to some new names on the comments. Thank you for stopping by and hope you can visit again soon.
Glad you all liked my first Christmas card (sorry Janice, it is the one and only at the moment) and my bow experiment.
Now, today's card is one I mad for Nesta to give to her niece for wedding part two at the end of October. As always with her niece, the colour scheme was purple and gold, so I ran with this.
Ingredients
Cream card
PMD purple card
Gold mirror card
The Striplet
Sissix Squares
Hobbycraft heart punch
Versamark
Gold mica powder
Pearls
I used The Striplet around the edge, only cutting half which is a little tricksy, especially going round corners but worth it, I think. My, did I have to cut some small foam pads to raise it above the gold layer.
The card was, apparently, well received so you can't ask for more.
I have been eyeing Sue's new Striplets but I have actually bought 3 of the new Spellbinders Borders that operate like a Striplet. Soon as I get 5 minutes (New shifts again!!!) to play, I shall.
I haven't forgotten about the choccy peanut recipe. I will check if it's available on line to refer you by link (its a Nigella so I don't want to get sued for putting it on here)
For any of you who live near the NEC you may be interested to know about the World Duty Free Airport Sale in December. They have it every year and you can get some corking bargains on perfumes, handbags, cosmetics etc. Just visit the NEC website, register and print off your tickets. Its free to get in and so is the parking. To give you an idea of the savings, I've bought Radley handbags for £30 and perfume sets with RRPs of £90 for £25.
Anyhoo, that's me for today. Til next time, be good.

Ang, what a great use of the striplet, I bet it was a lot of work getting those corners. Your card is gorgeous and I could only be well received. Don't go spending to much money at the sale, I bet there are bargains. Hazel x
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, what a great border using the striplets, love the card, and I am sure it was very well received. Have a great day. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang. A lovely card for Nestas niece. I love this striplet as much as you do but I haven't managed to get it to go round corners like you have, that must have been hard work! Well done on making it look so good : ) Take care.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Ang,
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love, your stunning card. This of course just had to be loved and will be treasured. Wonderful use of that Striplet Die. My new SW Dies should be delivered today Yipeeee!!
Not so cold here as WET it's like looking out to sea as you travel along the main road. Thank goodness we are up out of the valley or it would be a boat rather than a car needed to get about. As it is I need to use the 4x4 to get out of the village ...... rural living sure is fun!!
Have all the ingredients for the Peanut Fudge. Decided to wait a little longer before making it otherwise i would have to make more for "gifts". I would have eaten the first lot myself ..... !!!
Have a great day, I won't take up space in the "pond" today thanks, far more water to paddle in right here.
Hugs

Hello Ang, it's not been so much chilly here, more dark, damp and gloomy. Staying home weather really.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning, what wonderful colours together. I would have loved to see the bride's wedding dress, bet it was really wonderful.
The striplets used as a frame looks great, I meant to buy one while I was at the NE C, didn't get around to it though. Hugs kate x
This is fabulous Ang and perfect for the occasion. Hope your new shifts are working out okay. Hugs Christine x
ReplyDeleteWhat! You've managed to get the Striplet to go round corners! Brilliant! I think you need to get together with John and do a tutorial on this I am drooling over Sue's dies and having to resist because I don't sell my cards Hubby wouldn't mind but I'd feel terrible spending all that money So the one Striplet I own is used lots and would love to be able to use it in other ways
ReplyDeletePS the card is stunning!
ReplyDeleteOooer Missus - lurve the colours of this one - what a corker! Sorry to hear your new shifts are messing with your crafting - darn it! It's been quite a warm day here although Blossom has just jumped onto my desk to warm her Trossachs - Donny says he's not sure whether his are cold or not 'cos he hasn't seen them in a while!

ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeletewhat a very super creation today.
Just right for a Asian wedding.
Love your super designing of this, and the colour is wonderful, and all that fab gold mirri is perfect too.
You are so lucky to live where you are, as lots go on there compared to Kent.
Lots of craft shows, are always in the middle of the country or up north.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my post, yes I did get it lol! I have threaded ribbon through cards before but with this one I was not sure whether it would look right as the holes were in all directions lol! John does have some lovely ideas, I love watching his shows as, yes he does talk a lot but its all very knowledgeable, its amazing to listen too!!! never thought I would say that about a bloke lol!!! Shhsshhh!!!
