Good morning one and all. Hope all is well with you.
Oh, the horror of having to scrape Shaun for the first time this winter, yesterday morning (Shaun is my car before I get reported to the NSPCC or RSPCA lol!!!) I wonder if my heat tool would work on an extension lead. . . . . . . .hmmmm?
Well, had fun at Daisy's on Saturday afternoon. I took Nesta to meet John and also a friends' young daughter, Megan (whose birthday card I made and showed you here)
John was brilliant with the ladies and as for Megan's appraisal of John?. . . . . . . "He's fantastic" and she had to then watch a recording of his last C&C show when she got home. She is 10 , bless her and has an interest in craft. I bought her some stamps at Daisy's so she can have a play with them (I had already given her an ink pad and some other bits) but after seeing John, she has been well and truly bitten by the craft bug.
When he gave her one of the cards he made at the demo, you would think she had the crown jewels.
Me and Mr D are thinking of paying for her to do the workshop with John, on his next trip to Daisy's, for her birthday, if she is still interested at that point (you know how their interests change all the time at that age).
Now, last time out, I showed you Roxy's 21st birthday card and today its the pressie. It was just a little something which is why I went a bit mad on the box (which she has kept). Apologies that I forgot to photograph the box before I scrawled on the label.
There is acetate behind the Butterfly Magic panel

Great present Ang. A bit like my " A Good Night In". Basket. And she can keep her box along with her card. Poor Shaun! I was so glad I wasn't in to work yesterday, so I didn't have to defost my car. So far the frost hasn't come down. Glad you all had a good day at Daisies. Hazel x

Hi Ange,
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous box to go with Roxy's card...oh and I do love what you put inside. How lovely for you to take young Megan along to see John. no wonder she was pleased to have one of his wonderful cards and that she really got hooked into crafts.
Love Sheila xx
Hello, wow to both the pressies and the box. I have just got the big boxer but haven't tried it properly yet, if I can make a box half as good as your I will be well chuffed.

Oh Wow what a lovely box of goodies. Who wouldn't want to keep a box like that.
ReplyDeleteMy memories of November are hanging out a line full of nappies and not seeing them again for a couple of days for the fog. Then they would all come in and have to be washed again. Happy Days.

Hello Ang, poor Shaun, you'll have to cover him up to keep the frost away.

Treated myself to one of the new dies from SB one of the Gemini dies, hope to get to play with it soon, have a good evening, hugs Kate x
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeletewhat a very superb box.
I love this fab design, and the colour is wonderful.
I bet she was over the moon with this superb creation, and it's wonderful contents.
Wonderful to see youngsters taking an interest in craft.
Good for you and John for encouraging it.
If I pretend I'm 10 can you take me to see John, and pay for me to have a workshop with him. lol.
Poor Shaun, can't you take him in the house on frosty nights, or maybe give him a blanket like we used to do in the olden days.lol.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Lovely craft project-looks great.

Hi Ang, such a superb gift box. I would love to receive something like this. May find the time for one or two specials for Christmas. Well someone so young, should be inspired to carry it on into adulthood, it certainly is the one hobby (well obsession) that has stayed with me. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang. Glad to hear that you all had a great time with John, and that young Megan has been bitten by the crafting bug. The box is beautiful, thanks for the tip about putting ridges of cardboard under the tissue paper! Take care.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gift box and so unusual - Luv it - not surprised Roxy kept it xx yep we have had a frost here for the last two mornings but then it has brightened up with lovely blue skies and sunshine - cold but dry - don't mind that, better than the grey, damp miserly weather we have been having xx hope alls well xx GailT xx
ReplyDeleteHey Ang!!! I just love hearing you foreigners talk - yep, it is foreign to me!!
ReplyDeleteLove that box - oh so fancy!!!!!

What a lovely gift And isn't it great when a young 'un takes an interest in something we have a passion for My own daughter (age 30) never has She is creative in other ways and always had a mum to do the rest! Lucky Megan I think I'd be a bit starstruck meeting John (and you for that matter!)
ReplyDeleteGreat pressie, I'd love it if I got anything similar
ReplyDeleteA really gorgeous creation packed with yummie goodies and these colours are simply beautiful.
