Good morning dear blogging chums. Hope everyone is good. My head is better, thank you. As for work, I'm playing that one by ear!
A big splashy welcome to The Pond to Rocky, Lilian and Valerie. Thanks for following the fun ladies.
Now, today's card is my very first DT card for Moving Along With the Times Challenge (MAWTT). I was kindly invited by Hazel (Didos) to join the team before Christmas and here is the first challenge of 2015. Hope you can all pop along and have a peek at what my talented team mates (including our Wendy) have created and even better, if you can join in.
This challenge, as chosen by Carole, is a photo/colour inspiration . . . . .
And I went for both, the flower in the picture and some of the colours too.
Peachy shades are not usually my cup of char but I did quite like the way the colours look on the finished card.
I decided to try something different (for me) with a gatefold card (a sheet of A4) with an aperture cut from the centre, going up a size on the top layer.
Ingredients
Cream base card (Ross)
Rich cream linen card (PMD)
Biscuit card (Lidl)
Peach card (Lidl)
Brown card (Lidl)
SB Labels 28
SB Ivy (D-lite) love it!!!
HC Delicate Asters
Docrafts flower punch
Tonic flower punch
Couture Creations Compassionate embossing folder
Distress inks (Bundled Sage, Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge, Victorian Velvet)
Memento Dew Drop inks (Bamboo Leaves, Rich Cocoa)
Crafters Companion sentiment
Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Golden Green gilding wax (Thank you John!)
Copper Krylon pen
Pearls and bling
Phew. . . . . . . . . that's quite a list!
This is the first outing for the Ivy die and I'm in love with it. Each leaf is a separate die and you get 2 different stems as well. Its a shame you can't really pick up the sheen from the gilding wax (boy, does that stuff whiff!).
Well, I hope that you all like my first MAWTT DT post. I look forward to having fun with the rest of the challenges to come.
I am also entering this into Darnell's NBUS challenge No 3 (as I've used my Ivy for the first time)
And Try it on Tuesday's my favourite things challenge as my favourite things to use are dies and particularly flower dies.
Just a couple of messages before I waddle off (still have Christmas weight to shift lol!!!).
Mrs B, I will do some pics, of how I do the banner, for next week.
Elaine (nattyboots) enjoy your travels, hopefully somewhere warmer than here.
Sue & Sue, great news about the NEC. Will the ASBO be expired by then lol!!!
To everyone who has tried the Thank Crunchie its Friday recipe, glad you have enjoyed it and apologies to your dentists (mind you, the dentists will be happy as it will be funding their yachts!!!)
And as always, thank you for your kind visits and comments. Back in a few days with a pic of Karen's (karenlotty) terrific card.

Wishing you belated Happy new Year Mrs Duck!!! I'm hoping i can now get down to some crafting again. I love your card . I haven't done a gatefold for a long time, although I have done something similar to this in the dim and distant past when I was a novice. If I did it again it would be more professional now - hopefully. The flowers and embossing folder tie in beautifully. Hugs Christine x
ReplyDeleteHi Ang. This is definitely deserving of a big WOW. I love the peachy shades and the whole card is so beautifully done. I will definitely try to emulate this one if I can. I know quite a few ladies who would love this as a birthday card.

ReplyDeleteHi Ang. This is gorgeous, I love it. I'm also not usually a big fan of peachy colours but you have used them to wonderful effect. I will have to have a go at this. Your new MAWTT design team mates have a hard act to follow : ) Thanks in advance re: the banners : ) Have a good day. Take care.

ReplyDelete{The Journey is the Start – my personal blog}
Good morning Ang,
ReplyDeleteWell i don't know whether you will be going "Oh NO, she's back " or "nice to see you back" but i'm over for a paddle in your duck pond. What a gorgeous card with the beautiful daisies on it and the prettiest wee tiny apricot flowers as well(they are so cute). The daisies i think you would have a hard time finding more realistic than what you have made as they remind me of real ones or gerbera's. Your work of art shows that Lidls are not just well priced for groceries but for card also(hee hee). I hope you win Darnells NBUS challenge as you deserve to with your work of art.
Well i will paddle off back home as it is a bit cold under the feathers today for paddling and getting my bits wet, but see you soon.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
Hi Ang. I just love this card. I like the way you have done the aperture I must have a go at this and the colours blend so well Beryl xx
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Ang I buy the Llidl card and paper when it's in the shop and never seem to get around to using the yellowy shades I will definitely have a play with them now thatvI can see what shades will go together I love the bling you've used on the Petal Pair punches I have all of them and struggle to find bling for them Where's yours from? Thank you for being so kind about my card Looking forward to seeing it in "print" And it's fillay coz there's only one "l" You could possibly pronounce it fee-ay too!
ReplyDeletePS it's the bling on the asters and small flowers In photo they don't look like pearls but more like gems without facets... All of the cards on MAWTT are amazing
ReplyDeleteHi Ang. This has to be my all time favorite card I have seen on your blog. Stunning is the word that comes to mind. I love all those gorgeous flowers and the beautiful gatefold with the cutout. Loving the ivy too. Congrats on the new design team. Can't wait to see more from those challenges. Have a great day.

Well, if that's a card, what I make must be scratch paper. Duckie, child, this is sensational, magnificent even! Not a card, but a table top decoration to leave out always!
