Good morning Ducklettes (this is a suggestion of John's so blame him hahaha!). Hope everyone is well, if not a little damp around the edges.
Thank you for your comments on my book folding. For those who said you haven't the patience, once you're in the zone, its quite therapeutic and relaxing, honestly.
Well, I bought a set of Allen Keys and took the GC apart, again, replaced the popped bolt back into its hole and tightened all the others. Got covered in the black gunk that has been dropping off it but shall send those snaps onto Spellbinders and see what happens.
It appears to be working so we'll see how long that lasts.
I decided to have a play with Sue Wilson's new Christmas Tree Greetings die. I made the gold piece first for another project and thought what great little tree decorations they would make. Please excuse the lighting as I took these at night to try and capture the sparkle from the glittered ones under a light (also, my curtains on the first snap look grey with the flash but they are actually ivory lol!!!)
They are made from 3 layers of funky foam, each cut out with the die and then glued together. Then I cut the die again with card and gilded the one above. . . . . . . . . .
just glittered the blue one above (please excuse the blur). . . . . . . . . . . .
and the red one was heat embossed with red sparkly embossing powder.
I then stuck each top card layer to the triple funky foam base and voila!
They are sturdy little pieces and quite quick to make. You can see the depth of them below. . . . .
Hope it gives you an idea of something different to do. . . . . . . . . . and I've got a tonne of funky foam to use up following my bulk purchase to try John's funky foam stamp idea hahaha!!!
I'll show you what I did with the gold one on my next post.
Anyhoo, I'm off for a few days, hurrah! with housework to do, boooo hissss! and some crafting, hurrah!
An exciting GP at the weekend too but tinged with sadness for Jules Bianchi. Hope Jackie D and Wendy managed to watch. Glad you seem to be doing better Val.
Someone, I think, asked how I twanged my Achilles.I had been standing on tippy toes and felt something twinge. There is a bit of bruising and its still twinging now and again.
Janice, thanks for the tip about Orimoto (wasn't that one of the Wombles lol???)Will have a butchers at it.
. . . . . . . . . . Ooooh, that reminds me, sorry Pamellia and our overseas Ducklettes for using bits of British slang that you're having to Google lol!!! Also, hope your leak gets sorted soon. I'm guessing you're going to re-plaster the walls yourself with your super texture paste!
Maureen, fortunately I've managed to produce some craft stuff so haven't yet had to resort to the pole dancing video. . . . . . . you've had enough trauma recently gal.
Well, that's me. Hope you all have a great week and play nicely!!!

Ps. . . . . . . . this post was supposed to go live at 6am but apologies it didn't. Not sure what happened as the scheduler details were correct but then I've had a game trying to get it to just publish. Hopefully it has now. x
Great project Ang. I have this die so it might be an idea to pinch - I mean CASE of course! Lol! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang! I was so excited to see your thumbnail in my reader, I just knew you could cheer me up with that Brit wit of yours!! LOVE your decorations, I thought they were wood flourishes at first, what a great idea to layer up the foam like that! Seems we both decided to add a new decoration to our tree this week, great minds and all that!
ReplyDeleteMy ceiling is covered with black garbage bags at the moment. Mr J and I have decided to ditch the plans of fixing it up and we are also ditching this entire living environment! This yucky city living was supposed to be a temporary stop until we could find a nice place out by the lake, that was a decade ago!! Now we are finally out hunting for a spot, so keep your fingers crossed for us. big hugs from across the pond :)
Wonderful creations Ang. Love your wit, have a good week, xxx
ReplyDeleteYou are funny Ang! Only you could twang your Achilles by standing on tippy toes Shame we won't get to see the pole dancing video - maybe not!
ReplyDeleteLove the fab little trees I think I must get some funky foam!
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteThese look fabulous, love everyone, though guess the Gold would have to be a little favourite lol!
Sorry was only in Brum for one night so did not have chance to come over to see you otherwise I would have arranged something. Next time.
Love & hugs

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteI really do enjoy your banter, and it looks like our overseas friends do to.
Isn't life great with all this communication around the world.
I bet our ancestors would have loved it too had it been around for them.
Superb crafting of that Sue Wilson die,
Beautiful regal colour choices.
So glad your GC is mended you sound a dab hand at repairs.
Enjoy your rest days, and don't overdo the housework part, there is always another day. LOL.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Ang, wow these decorations are fabulous, such a good idea. Hope your GC hangs in there, and have a great couple of days off, I am sure some of the housework can wait to allow more time for crafting. Take care. Bx

Good morning Ang, just love what you have done with the funky foam. Seem to remember you did something with layers of it before but it is lost in the mists of my mind. Looks so effective though. I had a reply from Spellbinders and they have a repairman in the UK evidently. They are forwarding my name and address to him and I will receive the broken parts via him free of charge. So, if I get stuck putting it together I know where to come for help!! Saw the GP yesterday as I had taped it as I came back from mums and was at a show on Sunday so watched qualifying on Monday hence only saw the race yesterday. Sad occasion but very exciting race. Take care now, no more accidents on your days off!! Love from Jackie xx

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteShame about the pole dancing, I was looking forward to it as I lead such a humdrum life!!!
This is a brilliant idea to use up the five thousand sheets of funky foam I bought about 10 years ago and have never used - now if I can only remember where I hid them !!................

WOW-fantastic Christmas creations! Love them so much that I have now decided I need the die.
