Good morning dear paddlers and my goodness isn't it paddling weather?
Thank you for your ever lovely comments on my last creation and for your kind words about little Cid. We're none the wiser as to what happened to her. She was found in a neighbours garden but with no visible signs of injury. Still bringing tears to my eyes so will move on to happier words.
Had a wonderful day at the NEC Thursday with Nesta. She enjoyed looking around the gift stalls and also bought some sequins to embellish some tops she has (I'll make a crafter of her yet lol!)
Met up with the lovely Christine Harrop and also this time the equally lovely Anne Oliver and her sister in law. We all had a fab chat over coffee/tea.............thank you Anne for my coffee. Next year its my treat, no arguments lol!!! Did look out for Ann from Northampton but didn't spot you chuck.
It was strange not seeing the Scottish girls but had a lovely long chat with Kate on Tuesday to try and stave off the withdrawal symptoms lol!
Now, it was during our chat at the NEC, that I remembered that I hadn't yet posted the card I made for Nesta's birthday, which was back in August.
So here it is but apologies for the quality of the first photo........or it may, hopefully just be my screen not doing it justice. Its 8x8 in size.
Ingredients
Cream card
Lilac card
Sissix Square dies
HC Delicate Asters dies
SB Foliage dies
Tonic and Papermania flower punches
Crafters Companion sentiment stamp
Card-io dragonfly stamp
White gel pen
Selection of distress inks to colour the flowers and foliage
Pearlage and blingage
I used the white gel pen to highlight the centres of some of the lilac flowers to give them some definition.
Nesta did love her card and, bless her, she keeps them too. I did enjoy making this one as I love my florals.
Not much was purchased by me on Thursday. Mr L was busy demoing on my local craft shop's stand (Daisy's Jewels and Crafts stand D30) and one of my purchases was a bar of chocolate for John lol!!! He is demoing on their stand again on Sunday if anyone is going then (Think Jan from Northampton is?)
I will pop on a snap of the purchases next time but its quite minimal for me. Nowhere seemed to be selling Spellbinders, which seemed rather odd to me and to be honest, not much in the way of dies in general.
Lastly, I have reached the dizzy heights of 300 posts now, hurrah!!! I shall be offering a little pressie to a commenter/follower. So anyone who is a follower and leaves a comment on this post between now and 21st November will go into a draw for a thank you gift.
I am enjoying a few days off so hope everyone has a great weekend.
TTFN and be good.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off Ang. This card is gorgeous, xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely card and I know Kusum loved it. Yes we had a great day on Thursday at the NEC. Like you I didn't spend a great deal but I did get one small Tonic die that I have had my eye on but they are all so expensive. This however was greatly reduced so I snapped it up. If Anne (Oliver) reads my comment thanks for my tea! It will be a fight between Ang and I who will get to the counter first!! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteStunning card, no wonder Nesta loved it!

Ang, love Nests's card your whole design is lovely. Yes very strange not to have been down this year, not that there arent other times. I wouldn't have made it anyway as I have been bad with a nasty cold/flu bug. Ok again but wouldn't have been up to the trip. Patricia will have to get up to see Kate, it's just fitting it in with other things that are on. Hazel xxx

Hi Ang
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to meet you, Nesta and Christine. Carole and I enjoyed our visit to the NEC immensely. We did loads of taster sessions including zentangle, a colouring session and fabric printing! We came home with a few goodies, including the new spellbinders wacky Christmas tree trio! Oh, and some glitter! LOL!
I love the card you made for Nesta. A card can never have too many flowers in my view! It was lovely to meet. Best wishes, Anne O

congrats on your 300th card, and belated birthday wishes to Nesta. Wish I was at the show, but I 've just come back from the biggest quilt show in the world (Houston, Texas) so I am all spent out! Perhaps next year.
ReplyDeleteAng this is exquisite! Your flower arrangements are always brilliant. I have trouble just putting three roses together with their leaves! The colours too are fabulous and no wonder Nesta keeps your cards, one just couldn't throw this away. Congratulations on 300 followers! Michelle x
ReplyDeleteLove this card - all those gorgeous flowers.
ReplyDeleteSpent quite a long time chatting to John on Friday when I was visiting the show and he gave me some chocolate - dead cute! - which he told me you had given him. Loved the poinsettias he's was making so have produced quite a lot since.
Well done on 300 posts - look forward to many more.enjoy your break.

ReplyDeleteThat is stunning! Love this card, it is beautifully embellished with those flowers. I wish we had some craft shops nearer, I really miss the independent ones as they always are better than Hobbycraft especially the stamping shops.
