Good morning guys and gals. Hoping all is good with you.
Today its time for another challenge at MAWTT. Its Emma's first time as host and she has chosen the theme . . . . . . . . . . . .
That should give you all lots of scope so hope you can join in the fun or at least pop over to the blog and see what the other gals have come up with.
Now, my first thought when I saw the theme was, Teddy Bears Picnic as that's how my weird thought process works (I can think of a lot worse things that could be going on in the woods that you wouldn't want to put on a card lol!!!).
I found this lovely image and worked the rest of the card around it.
Ingredients
White and yellow card
Image from internet (no credit or copyright info shown on it)
Embossalicious Tumbling Leaves embossing folder
John Lockwood sentiment
Memento Dew Drop Bamboo Leaves ink
Yellow organza ribbon
Bling
Simple but cute (a bit like Mr D lol!!!).
It would be lovely to see some familiar names entering the challenge so get yourselves over to MAWTT.
Well, I got in touch with the arrhythmia nurse who said I wouldn't get a follow up appointment for 3-4 months, unless I go back into A/Fib again. When I queried about the continuing fluid and breathless issues, she said things would take a while to settle and to get more water tablets via my GP.
Have to say, she had been tripping over herself to be helpful prior to the Cardioversion (probably as I had been emailing the consultant directly) but now it came across as a "you're in rhythm so bu@@er off and annoy someone else" so I did remind her they were supposed to be monitoring my haemoglobin and liver function (one of the tablets I am on is particularly nasty with its side effects) and I have now had a blood test form from her.
Other than that, I'm still getting the odd rogue beat and with the extra water tablet, my Usain Bolt like dashes to the loo have extended from morning/early afternoon into afternoon and evening. But, there's those worse off than me so I'll only grumble a little bit.
Jackie, I thought that McLaren's new livery was naff until I saw the pink Force Indias.
SuzzieQ, I do try and elevate the legs as much as possible but its not the most attractive of positions and not conducive to being up and down like a yo-yo to the loo lol!!! You and Darnell asked about the salt intake. No one has said anything about that but I try and watch that anyway. I have been munching on bananas to keep my potassium up.
Marion, my goodness you are going to be a busy gal. Click here and here to see 2 golden wedding cards I've done if it helps inspire (or is that me being cheeky poking my nose in lol???)
That's me for now. Be good everyone.

Hope you don't mind me commenting. This is a lovely card. Do like the image. Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card. Now to your arrhythmia nurse - she does not care. Ask Miss arrhythmia nurse if you were her mother, would she be treating you in the manner she is treating you? Keep up the emails to your consultant. I am astonished that no one has mentioned the effects of salt on one's body. Did you know that consuming only 400 milligrams of sodium/salt, which is a single gram of table salt, causes your body to retain an extra 4 cups of water or about 2 pounds of extra fluid to your body. READ all labels - even milk has salt/sodium. Drink more water to flush out that salt. Continue your banana eating. You may however need more potassium than a banana or two a day, especially when taking those water pills. If you have any leg cramps, you need more potassium. Talk to your consultant or doctor about using potassium pills. Wish we lived closer, and I would take you under my wing and make waves on your behalf. PLEASE, keep your feet/legs up!!!! I care about you and you are important.
ReplyDeleteWow! A little cutie of a card today. Keep taking the tablets, as they say in the Dordogne and hope everything get on an even level for you soon.
ReplyDeleteLove your card , the image is so cute with the dressed up bears ,
ReplyDeleteSuzzieQ has said it all Ang , get your e/mail sent if you are worried .
Take care

Afternoon Ang, well this is change of card style for you. I really like that sweet image and what you have done with it.
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at "Littlelamb" hoping you did not mind her commenting. She is a really, really lovely lady, you would like her she is so sweet.
Sorry you are having problems with "the nurse" sometimes they can be a right pain in the b@*t. Hope you get it all sorted out ASAP!!

Hi Ang, what a super image.... teddy bears picnic .....great !! Janice xx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteLove the card, such a clean, uplifting card with the white and lemon and I'd like to join the bears in their picnic.
Littlelamb is lovely. She's everything I'm not, sweet, kind and thoughtful. Patricia, fancy calling a nurse a pain in the butt!!!
Ang, Pet, don't let them get away with not doing their jobs, you keep them on track with bloods etc.
Can you send me some sticky 3d pads? I've had an awful accident, got one of my boobs stuck in my shoe laces and need to hoist it up ha ha,
love xxx
Now I'm singing this !!! But it's a great card and perfect for the challenge. You know, one of these days you'll laugh at all this - well, maybe not. Take care. Christine x
ReplyDeleteIt seems strange seeing you do a card with a printed image but you have really succeeded in producing another special one.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes

When your card popped up my first thought was oh its a where's wally card for teddy bears. I'm a bit put out now that I don't have to do a search for a stripey jumper and bobble hat! Lol. (See your not the only one with a weird mind). Love your card. Such goergoeus colours. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteYour critter card is so warm and cozy cute, Ang! That would be darling hanging on a nursery wall!!
ReplyDeleteI'm am happy to hear that you are still in rhythm, but unhappy about the other tissues that you are still struggling with. You just have to keep researching this on your own, listening to advise, and being an assertive prig when you talk to medical staff. They work for YOU!! YOU!! YOU!! Can you hear me screaming that?! Trust me, dealing with life-threatening illnesses for over 35 years now has taught me that you start out as honey, but you turn to vinegar if you aren't treated with concern and respect! Mind, most medical care folk truly do want to help you.
In the meantime, having said that, I can't believe they haven't restricted your salt intake. It is the number one thing they preach to you over here, so don't just "watch it," cut it out. You really have nothing to lose to try eliminating it as close to 100% as you can - research it, of course, don't just listen to me, lol! It makes for horrible tasting food, but if it means you can get back to enjoying life with vigor, it's worth it, my dear.
Okay, I blinked and lost my train of thought, lucky for you, so I'll let you go tonight. We'll chat soon! Hang in there, duckie!! Love and hugs, Darnell
Hi Ang, back from my little break with mum. We were so lucky, had sunshine all the week and could sit out in the gardens most days. Now, what a super card! Not your usual but hey something different keeps everyone else on their toes. I think it has all been said by others about the salt - I'm surprised your doctor hasn't said anything. I didn't really notice the McLarens I was so taken aback at Force India so they got away with that one!! keep smiling love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card and I can only echo what everyone's said about diet/tests etc You need to keep nagging My son was put onto potassium tabs as soon as they put him on water tablets - as a young child
ReplyDeleteRestricting salt wud be a help I never cook with it and rarely put it on my food, it's not good for any of us Take care xx
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteoh I just love that image of the Teddy Bears picnic.
Your card is perfectly designed as always, and very pretty embossing also.
Yes you are right there is never any follow up done properly any more.
I also take meds that affect my kidneys and liver, and I am sure they should chesck those functions more often than they do.
I always have to remind them.
Love and big hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
What a lovely interpretation of the theme.

Hi Ang what a gorgeous card! love that image. Paul has to have blood tests every month on his liver I wonder if your taking the same pill as him? I was at my heart nurse this week and fingers crossed everything seems fine apart from angina pain I seem to be getting and that bloomin spray gives me a right edache!!! and also found out that I have type 2 diabetes :( so on a healthier eating plan now ..sheesh I used to be as fit as a fiddle once upon a time ...lots of huggles and take care Sue xxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, I love what you've done with the theme - so fun and not weird at all... Lets not discuss the other things! Hahaha! The teddy bears are so cute and I love how you've emphasized the yellow. I'm glad that you are "in rhythm" however that response from the nurse is uncalled for - she should be listening to you and how YOU feel. I hope things settle down soon and the nurse sorts herself out! :) xx
