Good morning everyone. Hope you are all ok.
Still playing catch up with my blog visits as its been a busy week, as you can imagine with bookings emails etc.
Welcome to new followers Marie B, Deborah G and Sandra G. Thank you for joining our merry (not in a drunken way ...... except a couple of the regulars lol!) band.
Spent Thursday at John's too sorting out the finer points of our Ansty workshop. I am helping out doing the bookings for the Swainby workshop but I'm not the organiser of that one.
You may have noticed, I've had a re-vamp of the blog. I thought it was looking a bit stale after 4 years and needed a bit of a zhuzh up. Hope its not too in your face after the previous pastel tones.
After my initial tweak, I've re-organised the layout so the duck is back (it had done a runner on my first attempt) and changed the text colour from pink on pink lol!!!
Mr D has also been on pulling duties again and the name out of the plant pot for the Paddle Prize offered here is. . . . . . . drumroll. . . . . . . . .
LYDIA
Congratulations Lydia. Thank you for comments and support. Please email me at lockerscrafts@gmail.com with your details so that I can post out your prize.
Apologies to everyone else but thank you for joining in.
Now, today's offering is a box. It was a fiddly beggar to do but something I had wanted to try for a while. Now I've got it sussed, its not so fiddly and I have prepped a tutorial if anyone is interested.
If you look closely, all the corners are inverted rather than squared off (I like to be different).
How to do the lid was a poser but I came up with a solution and it worked so hurrah!!!
Ingredients
A3 sheet of white card
SW Delicate Adornment die (cut twice as mirror images into the sides of the box)
SB Medallion One die (cut into lid)
Presscut Circle die
Tonic flower punch
Purple satin ribbon
Pearage and teeny pearlage
Hope you find it a little different to the norm. I went for the minimalist look with embellishments so as not to hide the unusual corners.
If you would like me to blog the step by step for this, I'm happy to do so.
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my reflections card. It was one of those that I thought "Yup, I really like how that turned out".
I must, however clarify one point. When I said "I went commando" I did mean straight into action without fear of defeat not thinking of the other meaning lol!!!
I can assure anyone of a sensitive disposition that I wasn't undieless in my craft room, mainly as the chair is leather and I wouldn't have fancied peeling myself off it after half a hour of my butt sticking to it.
However Andrea, if you have any success trying the "technique" please share as I'm sure we'd all give it a go (with a cushion in place to prevent the butt peelage situation). . . . . . . . in fact, I shall mention it to John for his next Hochanda appearance. I'm sure that it would increase the viewing figures, if not the sale ones hahaha!!!
Anyhoo, that's me for now, all set for another GP weekend hurrah!!!
Have a fab weekend, whatever you are doing and be good.

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ang, yes love the new style blog. The bos is brilliant. Havent tried the commando technique yet, but I am sure of one thing, no viewer of Hochy would want to watch me demoing it- crafters would be turning to other channels (perish the thought) in their droves- have a great weekend.

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteI do like your new blog look.
I think mine needs a overhaul after nearly 5 years, but I am afraid to muck it up.
Next month it will be 5 years old, and I will be offering candy to regular commenters.
Your box is ace and such a very clever design.
The inverted corners are very unusual, and quite unigue.
Lovely and beautiful design to the sides and lid.
Love and big crafty hugs. Jenny L.
Hi Ang, Lovely box. I am liking the new look blog.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Lydia

I like the look of your re-vamped blog. Good job. Your inverted sided box is awesome. Yes, please, do a tutorial of your fantastic looking box. I don't think I want to go to the vison of "going commando' on the leather chair. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteYes please to seeing the tutorial for your gorgeous box otherwise we will be forever scratching our heads saying 'how'd you do that then'? Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous box, Ang. love the new look for the blog.

Hi Ang, what an interesting box design no wonder it was a bit of a faff to get it right first time so a tutorial would be great. Thought I'd come to the wrong place at first, bit "in your face" when you are bleary eyed first thing in the morning when my eyes don't work so well!! Lovely coloured background though. My congratulations to Lydia. All set for this afternoon?? Looks as though it may be a red weekend. Bye for now, love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful box Ang Love the new blog but I am struggling to navigate around it on my phone

Hi Ang! Just managed to get through all the blog posts I missed while I was on vacation. Love all the cards you did for John's new release! The autumn one was my favorite as I love metallic embossing! Hope you are now up to speed on Windows 10. Have a great day!
