Good morning guys and gals. Hope all is well with you.
Mr D and I celebrated our wedding anniversary this week. Sadly, the only thing bubbly I could have was lemonade, boo hoo but Mr D did give me a really lovely card and the words he had written in it did make me shed a little tear (No it wasn't, "you're paying for the takeaway" lol!!!).
He is a man of few words, and the few are rarely profound but he can be lyrical when it counts , bless him.
Now, today's card is back to the last show samples I made for John for his new brand launch.
Ingredients
Cream and brown card
John Next Door Autumn Flowers stamps
Various distress inks
Memento Dew Drop Espresso Truffle and Rich Cocoa inks
Versamark
Copper embossing powder
I can guess my wee chum Kate will like this as she is a big fan of Autumn and autumnal shades.
Thank you for your response to my inverted corner box and the tutorial for it. I'm more of a picture gal when it comes to instructions.
Its been a busy week again with anniversary, helping with the Swainby Workshop bookings, my kidney scan (there are 2 and they looked normal so back to the drawing board and sadly more tests as to what is causing a problem), a blood test, a squeezed in meet up with Nesta for her birthday and I've also got to go laptop hunting.
Mine is working fine but I have signed up for a course and the on line element requires a newer version of Windows than my ancient XP..............yes, I did say XP lol!!!
Just hope that Widows 10 works the same way and that I can figure how to get things transferred from my current lappy onto the new one.
Well, best get on. Have to get things done whilst I'm on a reasonably good run of health at the moment. Just wish the weather matched the month lol!!!

This is lovely - right up my street Ang. Will have to create a few in this style.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to hear you're feeling more yourself and able to keep busy.
I'm having a few days with my son and family in Devon. Lovely to be with my little granddaughters on the beach though yesterday was soooo wet.

I have upgraded to windows 10, took me a while to get used to it, still learning.
Glad you got my e-mail second time round. I'm intrigued as to why Mr D would be visiting my neck of the woods, hope it's not at her Majesty's pleasure.

Good morning from Ontario where it's lovely and warm but storms hanging around in the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours on this card, useful for lots of occasions.
Hi Ang, such a lovely card, I am sure John will have been really pleased with it. Glad that the Kidney tests are good, and that you are feeling a bit better, but don't over-do it or you will end up back at square one.

Hi Ang, I seem to have missed a few of your blogs so I apologise. I've looked at the tutorial for the inverted box....and will be making one shortly LOL !! Happy anniversary to you and Mr.D, hope you have a good day. Janice x http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs D, This is just lovely I love autumn too, they say you always relate to the season of your birth and I am September,so love the season the colours and everything.Glad you are feeling well at the moment hope it continues Love Barbara D xxx
ReplyDeleteHappy late wedding anniversary. Lovely autumn styled card. ***Now onto my W A R N I N G with windows 10. When I upgraded to windows 10, ALL of my attached machines to my computer: expensive and really good scanner; 3 in 1 -copier, scanner, printer; and a regular computer printer, NO LONGER WORKED. None of these machines would support windows 10 and could not be upgraded to windowns 10. I have had to REPLACE all of these machines making sure the new machines would run on windows 10 before I purchased the replacements. Big expense to replace all of my machines. I am still "reeling". Good luck!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I got so caught-up in my rant, I forgot to say how pleased I am about your kidney scan.
DeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeleteHappy belated wedding Anniversary to you and Mr D.
Love this wonderful card and the cream and brown is beautiful with the copper embossing powder used.
Now I have had windows 10 for a some time when I needed a new Computer.
I expect you will find that your old Laptop is a 32 bit computer, and newer ones are 64 bits.
I had no problems with my printers or such things.
Hubby did copy everything to a external hard drive so we could put it all back on the new computer.
The only problem I had was some of my older crafting CD wouldn't work.
Then I was asked one day if I wanted to make them compatable which I said yes, and they now all work.
I hated having to move from XP , but it is no different really.
Just sometimes you can't find this PC on it.
Good luck with your change, and hopefully you won't have any probs.
I save all my stuff to Google backup now in the cloud so if anything goes wrong or I crash I have my back up.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Beautiful card, love the copper embossing. So glad you had a nice anniversary even if you were in the non-merry bubbly. Good news that your kidneys are okay, at least you know now that you can sell one to buy more stash if necessary!
ReplyDeleteHi Ang
ReplyDeleteHappy belated wedding anniversary to you and Mr D
Love this card and you're so right with your title. It's rained here for at least 24hrs... playing havoc with my RA!!
Good luck with the laptop shopping!

ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this? Drunk again on milky coffee I hear you say.
Lovely Autumnal card.
Myra is being funny when she recommends me for Windows 10. It's the bane of my life as I'm a complete technophobe and I wish I new what Jenny was talking about with cloud and backup!!!
Maureen xx
P.s. Very belated Happy Anniversary.
