Good morning dear blog chums. Hope you are all well.
A warm welcome to June. Thank you for your lovely encouraging comment and for pressing "follow". Much appreciated.
I have had an enjoyable few days meeting up with friends for coffees and lunches........along with chasing kitties. I have bought some harnesses for them so that first foray into the garden will be under my control.
I thought I would have a trial run with Molly yesterday, as she is more placid and less likely to put me in A&E with my hands savaged (must check when my tetanus is due for renewal) but it didn't go quite to plan.
I managed to get the harness on her but then she shot off with the lead trailing behind her with Lily in hot pursuit. Lily then pounced on the lead stopping Molly in her tracks and nearly garroting her!!!
I did manage to get her outside, where she had a little sniff and then ran back indoors.
Today will be Lily's turn so the gauntlets will be on.
I need to get them both outside asap, now they have had their Ninja training, so they they can be WIFFED (Wisteria Intelligence Furry Friend Elite Defence).
We are having new fence panels at the bottom of the garden as a Wisty defence measure but the Feline A Team will be on patrol.
Anyhoo, back to the card.
Now, I hadn't shown anything floral for a while so here we have a flowery ensemble.
I made this as a sympathy card for a dear blog chum whose brother passed away last year so I am hoping that she won't mind me showing it now. I sadly had a few sympathy cards to do last year.
Ingredients
Cream and rich plum card
HC Delicate Asters dies
SB Camellia Border die (cut into both layers to create a shadow)
SB Ivy D Lites dies
Other foliage dies
Tonic flower punches
Pearlage
Spectrum Noirs
I usually keep sympathy cards fairly simple but thought that the florals would be appreciated.
Apologies Maureen for not putting the full name of the embossing folder on my last post. It is the Craftwell A4 Checkered Argyle folder which I was lucky enough to get for £1 in a craft show bargain bin (I can often be seen with my head buried in a bargain bin, legs in the air......).
Karen, you scratch away chuck but if its in an inappropriate manner, don't do it in public.
I also never thought about my last card looking Native American in design but I suppose it does. I like to be different lol!!!
Another kitty pic to sign off.........
Don't be fooled WART members.........they are primed and ready to attack lol!!!

Love floral cards , Ang. You have some really amusing tales to tell about the kittens. Good luck and wisteria preservation at all costs! (Mine are budding up nicely).

Morning Mrs Duck, thank you for the mention. I am really liking todays sample, the flowers are lovely with the colouring fantastic, yes unfortunately we all have to make sympathy cards from time to time, I did a parchment one recently which had the Carla lily on it for a dear uncle, I always find it difficult to create something, but we plod on and keep trying don't we.
ReplyDeleteThe Cat patrol will be in full swing once they get used to the harness - but please take care because you don't want to injure yourself and be out of action - that is the last thing we want to hear.
Anyway must get on, so have a wonderful day and please be careful.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Morning Ang, a great blog post this morning. I can just imagine the fun and games trying to put harnesses on the little felines. Please take care and be careful. I remember when we had kittens and because we moved house, bought them harnesses until they got used to the new area, and it was like waging war to catch them and put them on. Love your beautiful floral sympathy card, it is very special and I am sure was much appreciated. Have a good day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning Ang, Kate x x

Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteYou always make me smile with your “ Tales of the Unexpected! “ we seem to have a lot of those here too - without kittens!
Your card is beautiful and I’m sure was much appreciated, especially made by a friend. As someone else said we make more of them as we get older!
Thank you for sharing your lovely card.
Love Myra xx
Hi Ang, hope all is well with you after your kitty forays. Such lovely comments from everyone about the card suffice to say the picture doesn't do it justice and it is really most beautiful - in fact it is still sitting on the unit on display even now. Just back from getting mum more or less sorted before I go home again on Tuesday this time to bring her up to me to go "on holiday" to a nearby care home for 2 weeks with a view to a permanent move there. Somehow think I need to go in for respite care!! hey ho the sun is shining today so its not all bad. Love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeleteYour card is a real work of Art. It's really beautiful and I love the colours.
I'm so pleased to hear about the kittens again. I can just imagine their antics.
I'm still not walking really well and getting very worried about my other joint problems that seem to be joining in the fight, so your kitten story has cheered me up. Thanks. I hope you are doing well on the health front xxx
Beautiful card, Ang. A cartoonist would have such fun drawing the kittens antics!

A beautiful card Ang. As has been said we seem to have to make a lot of these these days. Always difficult to know what sort of card to make but yours is perfect. Thank you. Looks like your Wisteria is safe with the kittens looking after it.
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteI'd have those little darlings eating out of my hand in no time. I always wash with Tuna scented soap ha ha.
The card today is beautiful, a work of art and so appropriate somehow. I hope you are keeping better at the moment, we wouldn't like to take advantage and attack while you are not 100%.
love Maureen xxx
P.s. Thanks for the info on the embossing folder. Not content with suggesting it's out of manufacture, you had to rub it in and say it only cost £1. THANKS!!!!

Beautiful card Ang, artistic and just stunning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words re Thye, another dog would never replace this 'human' labrador.
You asked me recently about good photo pictures, I have found a free download called Photoscape, and it works so good, especially now our days here in Aussie are ending for daylight saving and lighting is essential for photos....here is the link, free and have downloaded it for my self... Let me know how you go...

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Ang and I bet it really was appreciated
ReplyDeleteYour story about the kitties really made me smile You really ought to write a book with them in The way you write is so clever and imaginative
I will try not to scratch in public!
Your card is stunning, Ang, and I'm sure it brought (and continues to bring) comfort to your friend. While we all come here for the card art, I for one am going to keep coming back for The Kitty Tails! (You see what I did there?) You can add literary skills to the list of many talents you have! I'm glad they are keeping you busy, sometimes irritated, wildly entertained, and out of the ER!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteReally gorgeous Ang. I'm sure it was well received. Like you I don't keep this kind of card on hand either but sometimes it's a bit of a rush to get them done as quickly as I would wish. Christine xx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, such a beautiful card, your flowers are amazing, and I'm sure that it will have been much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the kittens.
