Good morning folks....................Yes, its me. I know that its been a while but I hope that you haven't forgotten me. Well, once seen and all that eh?
Humble apologies for my absence but its been a manic few weeks. I've had a hospital appointment, samples to make for John, a new weekly workshop of my own that I have set up and , the exciting news I alluded to, I have started a college course.
I should have explained that it was nothing crafty, rather than having you wondering what was going on.
I am studying to become a Foot Healthcare Practitioner. I usually put my foot in it so I may as well make a living from it lol!!!
Its been intense getting my head around studying again and you learn about the whole body, not just the foot so its been like doing my Biology and Chemistry A Levels again lol!!!
I did think that I should get into the student vibe by getting drunk and eating Pot Noodles (other noodles are available) but I don't think my body could take it anymore.
I have passed my first test with flying colours so only another 11 modules and a 2 week practical clinic to go lol!!!
Now, there you go. That's my exciting news which I suppose is a bit of an anti climax lol!!!
So, back to business and what better way to come back, than with one of John's samples from Monday/Tuesday's shows.
This is a picture heavy post I'm afraid, as I tried to capture it from every angle.
Ingredients
Ivory and cream card
JND Peony die
JND Oakham Lattice dies
JND foliage dies
JND sentiment
Various inks
I modelled the flowers on a peony that I have called Bowl of Beauty, Its such a pretty flower.
As you can see, I made the inside of the lattice look as neat as the front. It did take some lining up but I got there lol!!!
Well, I hope that it was worth the wait.
Apologies again for being AWOL. I hope that I won't leave as much of a gap in future but there may be times that I am tied up with assignments etc so apologies in advance but I know that you are lovely folk who will understand.
Well that's me for now. Hope that you are all well and been behaving whilst I've been away.
Will be back soon.........promise lol!!!

What a wonderful creation. The flowers are beautiful. Great news to hear about your course is it full time or part time ? As they saying goes your never to old to learn. ..lol. xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang, oh so pleased your back and that you are OK and what an amazing reason for your absence, going back to college and such a well worth and interesting thing to take up, congratulations on taking this step...no pun intended xx
ReplyDeleteThis sample is amazing, the flowers look stunning, I am waiting for my dies to arrive to have a play. I am also in the middle of sorting out my craft room, I did not believe I had so much craft, things I had forgotten about for years, and so many things I will never ever use, I think I must have that addiction to anything craft, I could open 2 shops let alone 1. Anyway I am not just putting it back on the shelves but trying to organize and label everything, already gave away loads of stuff to a school for them to use.
Looking forward to the Detling show here in Kent on Saturday, will be seeing John there and lots of others too. Got VIP tickets so get into the show early, my buggy (mobility scooter) is charged and ready to zoom around before the crowds come in, looking forward to that.
Well best go now, hubby has brought my breakfast and I had better start eating it before it gets cold or he will moan. ha ha
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely samples today. Haven’t been able to see John’s latest release as tv hardly been on recently. Been busy myself and other stuff has been taking priority, not least the garden. Wisties look gorgeous.

I check your blog daily and am soooooo relieved to learn that you are well and thriving under new challenges. Beautiful card (which is the norm). Looks like Mr Duck's feet will be pampered to death from now on. WakeyL
ReplyDeleteWow Ang I'm doubly impressed a beautiful card AND going back to school!! Well done you on all counts. Hope it all works out well for you. Your workshops seem to be popular but must mean a lot of working doing them every week. I have enough doing the preparation for once a month though I do have 20 to prepare for each time. Still the devil will make work for idle hands!! Love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Ang.
ReplyDeleteIt does take a bit of time to get the brain working again. When I did my transport exams in my 30's it was very hard, xxx
Stunning card Those flowers are amazing
ReplyDeleteI was beginning to get a little worried - that you might be ill or something So relieved to see that it’s because you are just busy
Well done you and hope the rest of the course is just as enjoyable
Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteThis is a real beauty! I’m not surprised it’s based on an actual peony! They do look so realistic.
Great to hear about your Course and so glad it’s going well! Packages arrived intact yesterday!! Many thanks!
Hope you are enjoying this lovely weather.
Lots of love,
Myra xx
A gorgeous card A g. Thank you for sharing this. The college course and the Craft Groups sound good. You are going to be busy.
ReplyDeleteYou are wonderfully brave to go back to college. I am glad that you are not sick but I fully understand why you have been missing in action for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThe card....gorgeous. These are the prettiest peonies I have seen. John must be crazy about this sample. You did a stupendous job and with all the other projects you have going, its doubly amazing.
Good luck with all your studies and exams.
