Good morning everyone...........................................It's me!!!
Never a dull moment at The Pond. Allsorts going on and I am sorry to have worried anyone (had a few messages wondering if I was ok 😊)
A few health issues but I am sure that you are more bored than Mrs Bored of Boredsville about reading about which is the latest bit that is dropping off me so I will spare you lol!!!
I have also just completed my final exam for my FHP course (10 piggin hours, thankfully in 3 stages) and have passed my theory with distinction. I start my 2 week practical training next week (hopefully as have not been great these past few days). I have done dummy runs to the college clinic by car and public transport and I don't like either lol!!! Car takes around an hour each way, if the traffic in Birmingham is moving. By public transport, its 2 buses and 2 trains and an hour and a half each way but, someone else is doing the driving and there will be loo facilities most of the journey.
Now, I am rambling on and nearly forgetting that its time for another challenge at MAWTT and my turn to choose the theme so I have gone for...........................
Use Acetate
I am sure that you all have a bit of acetate knocking about in the craft room so dig it out and get entering.
This was one of the last lot of samples I made for John before taking my sabbatical. I don't do shaker cards usually but this one just popped into my head as these things do.
Ingredients
White card
Blush pink mirror card
Papermania Confetti vellum
JND Sams Starz dies
JND Christmas Rose die
JND Elderflower Leaves dies
JND Ivy die plate and matching stamp
JND Sentiment stamp
Presscut circle dies
Seed beads
Its an 8x8 card.........had to be to accommodate everything lol!!!
I cut the Sams Starz out of the vellum and then stuck that to the acetate after cutting a circle out of the centre of both. I then foam padded all the way around and also around the centre circle so that the sentiment stands alone, unbeaded.
I usually rub a bit of talc around the sides of the foam tape, on the inside where the beads are going to be, to stop them sticking to it.
Would probably make a lovely wedding card too.
Anyhoo, get yourselves over to MAWTT and join in.............you know you want too!!!
Before I scoot, just to announce the winner of the paddle prize from my last post to celebrate 200 followers.
My glamorous assistant Monsieur Canard pulled a name out of the hat (well, bowl) and he chose....................................
MYRA - woo woo!!!
Thank you everyone else for your wonderful comments and yes, I am more than happy for anyone to take any inspiration they like from my cards.
I know that Maureen will be bitterly disappointed that Myra has won but Mr D did ask if "that's the funny one?" I'm not sure if he meant funny haha or peculiar but I thought he meant Mrs Killen anyway.
Congratulations Myra, you have won the following......................................
Hope that you enjoy your prize which will be winging its way to you in the next couple of days.
Well, enough from me today, so happy Thursday and be good.

Hello there!
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased your back and it's good that you're still breathing. Congratulations on passing the theory exam with distinction. The travelling for your two week's practical is a bit of a downer, and I hope you are fit and well so as to take it in your stride, car, bus or train!!
You are very kind to pick Myra out of the bowl to win the giveaway, at her age any little extra is a good thing, I just hope she knows how to use them and that her eyesight doesn't give up halfway through a project ha ha.
At first I thought the beautiful birthday card today was made especially for me (Kylie & Jason), but I should have known better (the Beatles)!!! - Stick around and I'll get a few more song titles in this post.
It's gorgeous, I love the star die in the middle, the colours and the composition so you can rest easy now that I approve!!
love Maureen xxx
Congratulations Ang on passing your first part of your course and with flying colours. Two weeks travelling every day is a pain but it is only two weeks and you will reap the rewards in due course. I didn't realise the card used Sams Starz until I read the description. I just thought "what pretty colours". Congratulations also to Myra on her win. Bye for now Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteHello Ang
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise!!! It’s very kind of Mr D to choose me ! I shall enjoy using those and look forward to their arrival!
I’ve had a strange day today so this cheered me up! It started well as I went with my granddaughter to update my rather ancient iPhone!! BT have been happily taking my only since January but I can’t log in as they only recognise my husband’s email! I will sort it out eventually!
Your card today is beautiful! To me it almost looks quilted!what a lovely effect you have achieved. I rather like Sam’s Stars hmm!!
I’m sorry you have been unwell but I’m very impressed with your pass with Distinction. Hope you solve your travel problems for the Practical.
Re: Mrs K - definitely peculiar!!
Many thanks ,
Love Myra xxx
Oh dear - should read taking my money! X

ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeletewhat a very superb creation I love it.
Such an unusual shape for the shaker and so gorgeous and stunning.
Love your flower and the ivy.
So glad things are looking up a bit health wise.
Congrats on your passing the theary test.
I am having trouble with my blog face can you help in any way.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Hi Ang! Gorgeous card - I love shaker cards. My sympathies on your long commute. I did a drive like that for 8 years before I retired (1 hr going, 1 1/2 hrs going home). So glad I don't have to with how much worse traffic is now. I vote for public transportation. At least you can read books, or youtube craft videos on your phone (LOL). Glad to hear your are still crafting! Take care!
ReplyDeleteDonna
Morning Ang, so pleased to see your post on fb last night, I had been worried about you, I knew about the studying and the health issues, but thankfully you are back, understand that you are still busy with lots of things, but at least we know you are OK.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on passing your theory.....drum roll....and with distinctions as well, brilliant. Now the next part is not going to be tough, all that travelling is going to knacker you (well it would me) but hang in there, the end result is going to be worth it, good luck.
I am loving this sample, and I recognise that backing card as I have some the same, not used it yet, too good............but I will have too I know. I do the same as you with regards to the talc, it does work. What a wonderful card to give to someone to treasure.
Congratulations to Myra, I do so enjoy all the banter between her and Maureen, they both have the same sense of humour ha ha xx
Best get on as hubby is cooking my breakfast and my tummy is telling me I am hungry, take care now, don't go doing too much, pace yourself. and special hugs. xxxx
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Congratulations Ang on passing your theory with a distinction no less! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe travelling sounds a nightmare whichever way around you do it and both have its own merits Would it be too expensive to stay near the college or what about student digs for a few of the days....? Just a thought
Take care and hopefully you’ll be well enough to be able to do it
Fabulous card Ang and like others I’ve missed your ramblings!
PS Congratulations Myra
DeleteCongratulations on your finals. We knew you could do it and even a blow out. Good going. Hope you figure out the best way to go for your practical. Only two weeks and you will be enjoying yourself once you arrive.
