Good morning my little ducklings. I hope that you are all well and enjoying the warm weather.
A few messages before I get stuck into the card, if you don't mind.
Firstly, a very warm welcome, or should I say una muy calida bienvenida, to Wendy who is now swimming in our little pond. Hope you enjoy having a splash with us!!!
Secondly, to dear Ita, I have managed to get as far as becoming a follower but it still won't let me comment. I will persevere but meantime, your sepia card is lovely.
Lastly, hi to Patricia and Hazel our Turkish Delights. Hope you haven't got caught in (or indeed caused) any riots. Hope your'e chilling and thank you for popping by whilst on your hols.
Right then, I've titled this purple peril as I'm not 100% sure about it but its done so there you go.
The base is 8x8 white linen card from Paper Mill Direct (PMD).
I matted this with some silver linen card from C&C. I then cut a layer out of PMD purple card and cut the Spellbinders Butterfly Magic die out of the left hand side. I also cut the butterfly area of this die out of silver card and popped this on top of the original butterfly.
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
I did then also heat emboss two stamped butterflies at the top and at the bottom but I wasn't happy with them so I stamped and embossed some different butterflies on separate card, cut them out and stuck them over the originals. I added dots for the "butterfly trails" (I've yet to see any real butterflies leave dots in their wake but they seem to feature on everything!!!)
My old faithful Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes provided the floral element down the side in white and lilac PMD card.
I then foam padded this to the silver mat and added a bit of bling to the flowers.
Still not sure but I can live with it.
Have a good day chaps and remember, if you can't be good.....................blame someone else !!!

Good Morning Ang
ReplyDeleteI love the layout of the card but it is coming over as magenta on the screen here rather than purple. I think, offered as a suggestion, it would have been better photographed on white or a complementary colour to the card as I think the background does not do this beautiful card justice it would have a shown it to a better advantage just a thought. :)
I love the layout and design you have used a lot of thought has gone into it. Lovely.

Hmm, it has come out a bit bright hasn't it. In real life its definitely purple. Funnily enough, it was actually the two butterflies I wasn't sure about.

ReplyDeleteOh dear Ang we are thinking you it was something else you weren't pleased with not the butterflies, never mind everyone see things differently. Your cards is lovely, and also the layout. We both had a laugh at your " if you can't be good - blame some one else " that's great.
Still enjoying chilling out.
