Hello my little chickadees (or should that be duckadees ?) and how are we all today ?
A big welcome back to the Turkish Delights, hopefully bronzed and well and with belly dancing skills finely honed (and more importantly with houses still standing if the Mr Delights were home alone)
This was the first card that I made with the Spellbinders Elegant Labels 4 and Die D-Lites Medallion 4. I like to cut things out of white card when I first get new dies and with this I just thought "waste not want not" and made a card.
The base is a piece of PMD white card Hougied in half to give an A5 base.
I then matted and layered with red then white card.
I cut the Medallion 4 out of the middle of the Elegant Labels 4 "test" cut. I lined this up on another red layer, without sticking it yet and marked the position of the Medallion on the red card below.
I then lightly glued the marked area on the red card and gilded it with Indigo Blu Chariots of Fire flakes. The label was then stamped with the best wishes, heat embossed with gold embossing powder and glued onto the red gilded layer. This was then stuck to the top layer on the base.
A little red organza double bow was tied and added to the top.
Close up of the gilding below.
Hope you are all having a great weekend and thank you so much for all of your kind comments and suggestions.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, really striking. Great idea to cut your dies for the first time out of white card. i only do that if I am not sure how they are going to fit together with some of the more complicated dies like Adorning Squares and the like.
I love the medallion in the middle!

ReplyDeleteGood morning or maybe afternoon would be better seeing how its near midday.
Ang I love today's card the red and white combo it's great.
Had to laugh at the " belly dancing bit" that would have had every one rolling about the floor. No bronze tones was in the shade and factor 50 slapped on. We did have a great time - always do. House still standing came home to an empty laundry basket too, wasn't he good!! Hazel xxx
Good afternoon Ang,
ReplyDeleteLoving your card, great layout and colours. Would make a great Christmas card replacing the medallion with a Christmas treet. Would also make a beautiful Valentine card.
I do the same with any new Dies, if you cut them out in 160gsm paper they are very usable.
My Mr Delight had the house "spick & span" even did the dusting as well as the hoovering.
Unlike Hazel's mine did not do the washing. To be fair there was not that much anyway.
Amazing what they manage to do when left on their own.
Tell you what!!! He must have missed me this time he is still fussing and making me cups of tea..........long may it continue.
Hugs

You are very alert, yes my 'New Arrival' post did pop up and then I realised I already had a post so moved it to today!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, Home again and thank you for the message in your blog post last week wishing me a nice holiday. More of a change of scene as I take my mum and borrow a wheelchair from the Red Cross so she can get out. I've been catching up with your cards and love the flowers and butterflies that have appeared. I keep seeing designs using these Elegant Labels and they certainly are effective. Best wishes Jackie
