Good morning everyone. Hope you all are well. I apologise in advance for any spelling, grammar or other mistakes as I'm typing this at stupid o'clock, having been out most of the day, so this is scheduled for morning.
Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my foray into the unknown with coloured pens and here are a few quick replies. . . . . .
Firstly, Selamat datang to Asmah. Semoga anda dan keluarga anda dalam keadaan sihat selalu. Hope I have said that right as my Bahasa is limited. For those who don't know, this Duck is half Malaysian and Asmah has kindly become my first Malaysian follower. Hope you keep popping by Asmah and terima kasih.
Sue (Snowqueen) fortunately Mr Duck has no interest in home decor and unless he vehemently disagrees with something, he just lets me choose.......good lad!!!
Jackie, love the comment about the lack of safety net. . . . . . think it was more without a parachute lol !!!
Lydia, its not at all cheeky to ask. Fortunately I did crack it on the first attempt. I did go a bit long on one of the door panels but just turned it over and rubbed the extra bit flat again. The Hougie really came into its own that day.
Claire, thanks for the link. I shall have a look at a more decent hour.
Finally Val . . . . . . be strong and hold hard !!! Don't let em fob you off gal.
Now, today's card was a bit of a play with two of my new dies.
Base card is a 6x6 cut from PMD white linen card. This is matted with a piece of green card (origin unknown, just found some amongst Mr Duck's papers and pinched some of it . . . . .half of what's his is mine hahaha!!!)
I then took a slightly smaller piece of white linen card and wrapped some lemon and some green organza ribbon around it as shown.
On a blank piece of white card, I inked some Mustard Seed and Shabby shutters Distress Inks over the card, then took a piece of moist sponge and dabbed it over the card to give it a mottled effect.
After this dried, I cut the largest SB Delightful Circles and also the SB Die D-Lites Medallion Eight out of this card, at the same time. I also cut a piece of green card with the outer cutting die from Medallions Eight and attached that to the back as a contrast. I stuck this atop the ribbon on foam pads and then foam padded the sentiment underneath.
Another bright one but blame John for showing that lovely yellow card yesterday lol !!!
Hope you all have a happy day wherever you are in the world.
