Good morning one and all. Hope you are all behaving in your bit of the pond. Thank goodness its warmed up a bit. At one point, my feet were colder than a penguins chuff. I bet it was nippy round the trossachs for the Scottish Posse.
Thank you so much for your kind comments on my HOC challenge entry. I think the winners are announced on Wednesday so fingers crossed. Thank you to the HOC DT members who have left lovely comments too and especially to Donna (http://craftycolonel.blogspot.co.uk ) who has become a follower. Welcome Donna. We're a lovely bunch at the pond and hope you will paddle again soon.
Wilma, I've been lucky enough to visit Singapore a few times, when visiting family in Malaysia and I love it. I've had a Sling in Raffles (and got the glass) and next time I want to have Tiffin.
Patricia, I hope you were joking you naughty girl. There is a speed limit in the pond for Health and Safety (or in Kate's case, Elf and Safety lol !!!) reasons.
Hope folk who wanted some, managed to get some of that lovely Lidl card/paper.
Now, today's card was me trying to be a bit minimalist. I have seen lots of lovely CAS cards about and I thought I would try to pare back and see what I could do in a similar vein.
The base card is 6x6 white linen card. I ran the card front through the GC with the That Special Touch Fancy mask then inked through the mask with Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed distress inks.
I cut the SB Medallions Eight out of some more white linen card and inked this with the same distress inks and foam padded it onto the centre of the card.
The sentiment was stamped onto more white linen card with Spiced Marmalade and heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear embossing powder and voila !
I have managed to suss how to do my own watermark in a program I already had on my laptop. Its not anything fancy but it will do for now. I will try and fancy it up when I get a bit of time.
Hope you have a fabulous day, whatever you're up to. I'm at the charity shop today so I shall see if they have any more boxes for me to jazz up (coming to a blog near you soon ;-) )

Good morning Ang. A beautiful CAS card from you today. Naming days are popular up here and have been for a few years, I think they are the choice of people who don't do church (if you know what I mean). Yet can be really big affairs.

ReplyDeleteGood morning Ang,
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card, I love how you have done the shading of the colours.
Not one of my colours but will certainly have a wee go at thie technique.
Sorry, I am the "Ducky" that races round the pond, it is hard for me to slow down.
Weather here been great for paddling, my feet are not too cold this week.

Hi Ang. What a lovely happy card and definitely reminds for of the sun.
ReplyDeleteYes thanks, I got my card from LIDL yesterday and it's great.
I'm off to my first Ti Chi lesson this morning. I did Zumba until quite recently when I damaged my shoulder so hopefully this will suit me better.

Hi Ang, hope you are keeping well. Back from mum's and thank you, yes, she is as ok as she can be. Freezer defrosted and restocked, windows and washing done, garden pruned quite considerably etc etc and now for a few days rest!! I'm off next Wednesday, 3rd October, on a cruise to the Azores, Madeira and the Canaries so I'm hoping for a few rays to equal your lovely card. I'm also sure you will be receiving at least an honourable mention for the card you posted yesterday, really nice. Thank you also for the tip about Lidl. I will pay them a visit on Thursday and see if there is any card left. I see we have a new comment box format but presume everything else is the same!! Best wishes Jackie
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeleteI do admire your way with words. Loving all your warblings . lol.

Lovely sunny card Ang. Quite a difficult subject but you have come up trumps. Christine xx
ReplyDeletePS Our farmer neighbour came round the other day - they had lost the whole herd!!! Thankfully they hadn't come visiting the Harrops! Lol! I think it's high time they got that field fenced properly!
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteLovely bright and sunny card to cheer a gloomy foggy Sussex morning. Hope the yellow stuff will show its face layer.
Went to Lidl before flying over on Monday, husband furious! No card sadly only the paper but I did manage to find 2 stray packets of greeny marbled card which suited me fine. Making charity card packs in the village. Have to keep them less Christmassy as they don't send cards as we do in UK, more a 'have a good year' type of message.
Happy Wednesday
