Good morning one and all. Hope you are all well. I am writing this from home rather than in traction. Haven't started the Pilates yet as I've been busy with work and had a few things on during the past couple of days. Also, Mr Duck thought it best if he was at home when I started. He maintains that's so he is on hand if I get my ankles stuck behind my neck but I think its so he can have a laugh at me.
I'm not doing it for exercise as heaven knows I get enough of that at work. I just want to tone up my core so I'm less likely to suffer with my ribs in future.
Now today's card is a little play I had with Sue Wilson's Striplet Embroidery die.
Its the only one I have bought so far but I've got my eye on a couple more, especially after seeing what John made here.
It is a 5x7 card base. Another piece of white card foam padded on top after the striplet has been cut from it twice, sentiment and organza ribbon added.
Its a beautiful die and the first one of Sue's that I thought "I must have that!".
I have also made an embossing mask with it by cutting it out of a piece of card, 3 times. . . . .
I have also made a card similar to this too. It does cut beautifully so I'm pleased with my choice.
Look forward to seeing other folks creations with the Sue dies they have bought.
Meantime, be good, keep well and have a super weekend.
TTFN

Hi Ang, what a beauty, love the way you have used the die. Simple but effective. Take care exercising don't push it don't want you out of action.

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeletethis is a really great card. I love what you have created with this wonderful die.
You really do think of clever ways to use your purchases.
The embossing mask is a great idea. I made one after your instructions with the Majestic blooms die so thank you very much for the info.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Good morning Ang. Wise move on Mr Ducks part not to let you do your Pilates until he is around, maybe the two of you could do them together that way you can laugh at each other! Now as for your card what a stunner, I love the way you have used the die. A simple but very elegant card. And great mask to you clever thing two things for the price of one. I made a card and used one of the bow die cuts Patricia gave me the bow looks lovely not so sure about the rest of my card, Have a good weekend. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Ang. Lovely die too, will have to borrow Johns Haha. xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, lovely card. I have seen Sue's dies and they are all beautiful, I need some too!xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang,
ReplyDeleteA lovely classic card, love it. will nick this idea if you don't mind, that's when I can afford the die. Only have the Faux Quilled Blooms so far, they are very pretty.

Lovely card, I am a real fan of Sue, and I like all her dies! (But will have to get one at a time, because of money constraints). Nice to see what others are doing with them, so well done.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have surpassed yourself again Ang, what a super card and Iove the idea of the embossing mask. I didn't pay much attention to the striplet die but I can see the possibilities now. I mentioned on John's yesterday I have bought two sets of dies from Joanna Sheen not knowing the size and found one set rather large so best if you can see the dies before you buy with whatever takes your fancy next. have a good weekend and don't overdo it. Best wishes Jackie
ReplyDeleteFab card and fab mask too - this die was the one that I thought I must have - although I do like a lot of the others too this is the first on my list (not bought any just yet) I can't believe how restrained I am being xx enjoy the rest of your weekend xx GailT xx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang. Lovely card. So love all Sues new dies. It´s knowing which ones to choose. It´s good that I'm seeing pictures of them used in cards by you and John as I´ve got a better idea of how they look.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Love Val x
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteAnother one of your cards I am going to "borrow". A bigger compliment there isn't. I have the other striplet die but I can still use it.
Much love,
Shirley T. xxx
WOW! Ang, this is fabulous, love what you have done with the striplet and making a mask...what a brilliant idea and it looks brilliant. I did find it hard which to choose from Sue's dies and like everyone else could afford very little but its definitely a collection I would love to have, there was so much choice, why oh why do they bring so many out all at once? lol! I eventually chose the Spanish Collection and I have only just got round to making my first card out of it which shall be posted soon. I will have to invest in a striplet though as there is so much you can do with them.
ReplyDeleteThe little kitty is doing fine back with my neighbour, he was so happy to get back home, he was picking up a toy taking it to her to throw then bringing it back again, must think hes a dog! They are both very happy with each others company and that's what matters. She has decided to call him Jamie!!!??? Mmm doesn't suit him at all but its her choice lol!
Love & Hugs
