Good morning my little blogging chums. Hope you are all happy. To the Scottish Posse, best of luck today. Be careful though, if its "Yes" you may need immigration clearance to get to the NEC in November lol!!! I can just see Patricia brandishing a pokey tool if they won't let her at the craft goodies hahaha!
Thanks for the lovely comments on my HOC card and gift box. Have to say, I was grateful for that particular photo inspiration so that I could use that paper. . . . . .its one that would have stayed in the pad for a very long time, otherwise, as its not one of my favourites (much as I love First Edition pads (34 at last count, is that bad?), there are odd papers within the pads that I'm not keen on).
Now, today's card is the get well card sent to our pal who had the heart attack last week. I think some of you may have thought Dave is a young fella. I'm not venturing an opinion on whether 60 is young (I'm not that daft lol!!!) but that's what he is and although a manly ex army, he's not been the fittest of guys in the last few years so I think this was a warning shot across his bows, so to speak. He's doing well at the moment bless him.
Ingredients
White card base A5 in size
Navy Blue PMD card
Jus Cutz A4 Rectangles
SB A2 Bracket Borders
SB Classic Ovals
SB Botanical Swirls and Accents (the moustache shaped die(I'm sure that there is a more technical name for it lol!!!)
Crafters Companion sentiment
3mm white pearls in corners(just had to as it looked bear without lol!!!)
Versamark
White detail embossing powder
That's quite a list for a simple looking card eh? There is quite a bit of depth to the card as the layers are recessed in the centre. . . . . . . . it was deep enough to attract a large letter postage, eeek!
I know I couldn't resist the pearled corners but they are only tiny ones and I still think that the card looks "butch" enough, just lol!!!
Allrighty, got a few days off and a list of jobs that could fill a roll of wallpaper but today I'm off to John's to play in his craft cave. I think he has had one of those detector things fitted on the door that will bleep if I try and half inch anything hahaha!!!
Hope you have a super day whatever you are up to.

Love your card, just perfect, I really like the effect. Your friend will love it plus the fact you are thinking about him. Hope he is on the mend.
Boys here, mum night shift and dad away till tomorrow. Will take them to school then cast my crucial vote.
Have a good day

Loved your HOC card gorgeous colours and then this fab one now tell us how you got the Bracket borders to line up. When I try things like that I always seem to be a centimetre out despite measuring twice.

Good morning Ang. Yes I will have to make sure that sister of mine is dearmed before setting off if it goes that way. Yes putting that cross on that bit of paper will change things one way or the other.
ReplyDeleteLove your card, great colour and still manly with your little pearls, glad your friend is on the mend. Enjoy your time at Johns - no drolling!!! Hazel xx
Morning Ang,
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, love the design and use of dies. I am like you have a few First edition pads , like most but there are always a few papers that you don't like.
Enjoy your day at Johns, I can see today is going to be filled with not much craft but loads of laughs lol!

ReplyDeleteGet well soon Dave - the card will boost you, I'm sure. I wish I was coming with you to John's, I'd get to meet you both, and look at his cave. Enjoy your day, and ignore the roll of wall paper, you can always buy another one to extend it, if necessary.

Hi Ang
ReplyDeleteLovely card! I like depth in a card and it's nice to see it through an aperture - even though it costs more to send. Have a lovely day with John.

Those dies are stunning Ang. Great choice of colour and a perfect card for your friend, I hope he is on the mend. Michelle x
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Ang, a simple looking card (but takes ages to complete !!!) very suitable for a male. A warning is always preferable I feel. Wish him all the best and take things easy. Have fun with John today, hope he's not feeling too nervous for Ally Pally. I am trying to organise myself to go Saturday. Janice x
ReplyDeleteHi Ang! What a great masculine card and I think the little pearls are just fine! So many wonderful inside out layers?? Ya, inside out layers. I send my get well wishes to your friend Dave! Have fun at the craft cave! big hugs :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeletefabulous male card today.
I love your super design of this great card.
I do hope your friend Dave recovers fully from his problems.
My DH had one when he was working in 1994, and he was 55.
He now has 5 stents in his arteries to his heart, and has been on an even keel for quite a few years now.
So it's really wonderful what they can do now.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Hi Ang this card is Spectacular,I love the way you used the Dies.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit to John, take notes,so you can advise all of what he is up to.

ReplyDeleteYes it's a big day up here, it's the sort of thing that is so momentous that you'll remember where and what you were doing the day we got independance, a sort of Kenedy, Elvis, moon Landing moment. But what ever happens, we can still waken up in the morning knowing that we are not hit by bombs or raging killer viruses, unlike other countries. Hugs Kate x
