Good morning everyone. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Today its time for a new Hobbycutz Challenge which has been chosen by our Wendy and its. . . . .Not A Card. Our sponsors this week are A Day For Daisies.
A little while ago I showed a card I made for Nesta's niece after she had a baby girl (peek here if you want to see it). Well, this is the pressie I made for little Anya.
Its a 8x8 pink box frame and the filigree section is foam mounted so a photo sits inside (I didn't include the photo as obviously she's not my little un and you have to be careful these days)
I didn't want to make it babyish as I would like to think she would want to keep it (or her parents anyway) just changing the photo as she grows. I did stamp her date of birth on it but in a subtle way.
Ingredients
Pink 8x8 box frame from The Range
White card
Pink PMD card
Hobbycutz Butterflies (Versamarked and mica'ed)
SB Spiral Blossom One
SB Foliage
SB Filigree Delight
X Cut Alphabet dies
Tonic flower punch
Card-io Rose Garden and Mum's Garden stamps
Distress Inks
Bling
I was very pleased with how this turned out but I have yet to hand it over as I've had clashing schedules with Anya's Mum and Dad. I did meet up with them at Nesta's party and had a cuddle with Anya (and promptly handed her back when she started to squawk. . . . . . .obviously no volume switch fitted lol!!!)
Lastly, a little gift tag to accompany it made with one of the sponsor images called Little Dancer. Don't laugh at my colouring lol!!!
Hope you fancy joining in the challenge. Would be lovely to see some familiar names in the entries.
Before I forget, a couple of you ladies asked about how I got my bracket borders straight on Dave's get well card. Sorry to disappoint but I just lined them up by eye and hoped for the best lol! I usually have more issues if I start measuring and trying to be too precise.
Had a great day with John on Thursday. The craft cave is a treasure trove but I didnt pinch anything, just borrowed a stamp (with permission) and a couple of bits of bling.
We actually did more chatting and cooking than crafting and had a real laugh.
Ita, sorry, I didn't take any notes; I'm not a gal who kisses and tells hahaha!
Have a great Sunday folks. Singapore GP for me today but sadly, only highlights so have to keep away from the news or anything that will give away the result lol!

This is a wonderful gift that I'm sure will be treasured for many years to come! I'm actually with you when you say you do it "by eye" - whenever I start measuring up you can guarantee things start to go wrong and everything ends up skewiff. HAve a good day. Christine xx
ReplyDeleteReally pretty Ang.

Ang. A beautiful keep sake gift, a one off to which makes it extra special. I am another "by eye " crafter, more things go I the bin if I measure. Glad you had a good day with John. Patricia and I meet up with Rita ( RMG creations) yesterday in Glasgow and had a great day. Hope the GP goes how you want. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gift. I'm sure it will be treasured. I started a birth sampler for my son once. Still not finished and he's now 23. I might actually finish a picture - although I think I would struggle with a baby boy! Now there's a challenge for you! Best wishes, Anne O
Morning Ang, love the box frame. A lovely keepsake for the family. Just to let you know I met John yesterday at ally pally. I watched him doing his demo, which he did really well, but I could see he was nervous. Have a good day. Janice xx
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous project and a definite keeper - luv it xx it will grow with her and what a fab idea to be able to change photos as she grows xx enjoy your GP xx GailT xx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Ang, what a super project and I love the idea of changing the photo as the baby grows. Met John yesterday, what a lovely chap, and he did a great job both on the stand and doing his demonstration. Bit tired today as it was after 10 when I got home last night having gone to the Tower of London to see the poppy field after the show. There were hundreds of folk there and the poppies made an impressive sight, just a shame it was so dull and overcast. never mind GP today though as you say just the highlights so no TV or radio until then!! Best wishes Jackie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Ang!!! really lovely project lots of huggles Sue xxx
ReplyDeleteI think your colouring is fantastic! This frame is gorgeous and I love that you made a little photo pocket that they can switch out every year, it's very genius my friend!! OK, I know I'm always asking questions, but what is "Singapore GP"? big hugs :)

Hi Ang, saw the end of the F1 whilst over at Damian's house, Don't know if LH is your fav or not, Damian was happy he'd won.

This is gorgeous Mrs Duck! What a fabulous keepsake and a brilliant idea to have the picture frame so that the parents can change the photo. Had a look at the card that you mention and it too is delightful. Michelle x
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeletewhat a fabulous and superb creation.
Love it.
The little girl in question will treasure this as years go by.
You were quite right not to add the photo.
Loved the superb card too, don;t know how I missed that one.
Perhaps I wasn't blogging that day.
Perhaps you should join us in the Oldie for Friday, and show some of your other older creations.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful keepsake And as others hav mentioned can be used for different photos for years to come Like Jackie Durrant I've been to see the poppies It's a very moving tribute and well worth a visit I was extremely lucky to know that two of my great grandfathers survived the 1914-18 war and can't imagine the hell they faced Thanks for comment re lining up etc Perhaps that's where I go wrong I measure too much PS the colouring is lovely
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous keepsake Ang I can see that becoming an heirloom. Love the roses must get into making more flowers used to do this all the time with punches but getting lazy in my old age.
ReplyDeleteThanks too for the comment re lining up. I can always see it is out once I have done it but danged if I can when I am doing it.
