Good morning my dear paddling chums. Hope everyone is on top form or as near as they can be. Hello to the new visitors who kindly left a comment on my last post. Hope you can visit again soon. And to my friends who have been missing, I hope you are ok.
A mega thank you to you all for your wonderful comments on my last card and also on my cards being shown on the TV. I started off watching, very excited then at times, I could feel myself going pink and being a bit embarrassed (silly, I know).
A big thank you to John for his encouragement and for designing these gorgeous stamps as without him creating them, I wouldn't have been able to make these cards.
As for me appearing on TV, no, not me. I've said before, I've got a great face for radio hahaha!
Now, I know the title of my post makes it look like I'm advertising for the local Chinese takeaway but it relates to the look of today's card. As soon as I saw the Cherry Blossom stamps, my first thought was the beautiful blossom trees in Japan and a sort of Mount Fuji background with the flowers almost silhouetted against it.
This is another of the cards that appeared on the shows and seemed to be very popular, so much so that John demo-ed his take on the technique. I was very surprised as I thought it may look too simple compared to some of John's creations
Lucky John had that fabulous transfer tape to mask off the "mountains" but I'm afraid mine was just low tack masking tape, ripped paper and a die cut circle lol!!!
Ingredients
White card
Black card
John Lockwood Cherry Blossom Elements Stamps
Spellbinders Classic Oval die (for the sentiment aperture)
Dusty Concord DI
Black Archival Ink
Staedler Triplus Black Fineliner (for colouring in the branches)
I hope you like it and the rest that follow (as there are a few lol!!!). Also I will be using these stamps on many projects as they are a joy to work with and I'm not a stamper lol!!!
I must say thank you to Jackie D for emailing into the show with your lovely comment and Sandra give the bokeh a go. . . . .what's to lose but a piece of card chuck!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Beautiful Ang and what an achievement having your cards on the television. I'll have to watch it online! Apologies for my absence recently, my son is starting his exams next week and I feel more stressed than him!xxx
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ang, gosh I'm first here today. Up early to see the election results, anyway I love this card, I saw it on C&C and knew before we were told that that it was yours that it was indeed yours, why, cos of the purple.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous design and you've done John's stamps proud, hugs Kate x
Hello Ang, love the design of this card, very evocative scene with the purples, looking forward to seeing more. Have a great day. Bx
ReplyDeleteLove this card so much, it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeleteStunning card, don't lower yourself so, you should be proud, its beautiful and John did a good take on it, makes a change from the other way round lol! I did send in an e-mail commenting how lovely your cards were but it wasn't read out, at least I don't think so! They are beautiful stamps but sadly cannot afford all so I chose the Daffs & Daisies.
Looking forward to viewing your others, I loved the Black & Gold one lol!
Have a great day
Love & Hugs

Absolutely fabulous Ang! Helps that it's purple .... lol! That cherry blossom stamp is definitely top of my list. I love it! Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Ang,
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning ANG, absolutely stunning. I hope that this was one of the ones that John showcased on his show on C&C as it deserves air time. It has my little mine away in that far off land(you realise i have never been) and can smell the lotus blossom and looking across the valley at the mountains in the distance. The sun setting or the moon rising playing it's part to show their beauty up in all its glory, ahhhhh. Thank you Ang for a gorgeous card and firing up the imagination that goes on in my little brain up there.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
Good morning Ang and thank you back for your comment! You may say you only used torn paper etc but it just goes to show you don't need all the gadgets to achieve wonderful results and this card is wonderful. All being well I shall be sitting and watching John up close tomorrow and getting lots of ideas. Bye for now and enjoy the weekend's racing. Pity it is only highlights. Love from Jackie xx ☺
ReplyDeleteA lovely elegant card, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely card Ang. It's always good to see different takes on the same craft item. That's why we are crafters, not copiers. It's great to get an idea and put your own twist on it. I'm sure John likes that with you. (plus you are not afraid to offer creative criticism)
ReplyDeleteSure we will see many more of your cards on TV
Cheers

I have zoomed in, zoomed out, scanned left, scanned right, and I'm still sitting here with my mouth open and my eyes bugged out! GORGEOUS!!! No wonder he cased you and put your work on TV, smart man! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Ang, I saw this card on c&c with John, giving you a mention !!. Well deserved as such a beautiful card. Just as good as John's so never doubt yourself. Have a great day. Janice xx
