Good morning one and all. Hope you are all fine and dandy.
No further mishaps to report. Fortunately, the shelves are a flat pack free standing unit from Ikea that fix together with an allen key and hammer and tacks for the backboard. I'm not a fan of drilling holes in the walls so tend to go for free standing units.
My shin is still tender and aching and the bruising is more pronounced now than 2 weeks ago when I did it. Mr D thinks I should go for an x-ray but I would have thought I wouldn't be able to walk if it was broken.
Anyhoo on to lighter things.
Now, today's card is another of the samples I mad for John. I think I saw it lurking in the background rather than it being shown. Its mega simple, I know, but perfect for batch making.
Ingredients
White card
CE Brunswick Green foundation card
CE Rich Red foundation card
John Lockwoods 12 Days of Christmas 8x8 paper pad
SB 2010 Heirloom Ornament bauble die
Sue Wilson Frosty Swirls embossing folder
CE bakers twine
CE Christmas sentiments stamp
Cosmic Shimmer Berry Red PVA pearls
Cottage Ivy Memento Dew Drop ink
The paper baubles are glued to some cut from white card for extra stability.
Now, normally, I break out in hives and a cold sweat at the thought of felt or twine. but have to say, I think this called for the twine rather than ribbon. . . . . . excuse me whilst I shiver hahaha!!!
Thank you for your kind comments on these festive offerings. There's a few more to come if that's ok?
That's me for now. Lunch out with Nesta and a couple of other friends today so something nice to look forward to (as well as ogling Paul Hollywood this evening. . . . . . . . nice buns!!!!!!!)
Be good.

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeletewhat a great card.
Fab designing as always, and lovely use of such great craft items.
So glad you have had no further mishaps.
I remember once I had a great big bruise on my left boob, and couldn't remember how I did it, and then after a long time had passed I remembered moving a chair and bumping into the edge of a door frame.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Love the traditional look.

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteSuper duper card you have created, wonderful design.
You could have a fracture or break and still be able to walk, I knew someone who was walking round with a broken foot for months! Best follow Mr D advice for once hun. Take care

Beautiful Christmas card Ang!
ReplyDeleteI hate to tell you this but I had a hairline fracture of my right hip and even though it caused some pain - I walked on it quite a bit never knowing it was fractured. Then one day the pain was horrid - I could no longer walk and the inflammation got worse. That's when I found out that indeed I fractured my hip and was ordered not to walk until it healed. I even had to spend a couple of nights in the hospital and get IV meds for the inflammation. So - I too thought I could walk on it so it must not be fractured. Hmmmmmm

Goodness, Ang, er, Lucky, catching up with you is an adventure! I'm sorry to read that the car door accosted your leg and that you are still suffering. My Mister gets bad bruises like that, especially to the shin (when he crashes his motorbike you understand, not solely from me kicking him) and we found out that there is a thing called "compartment syndrome" which is no joke. You should read about it over at the Googles place. Of course, I hope you don't have that!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the wonderful Christmas inspiration! I am only 113 cards behind in the goal I set for myself in January 2015. Do you think that's a worry? Gulp! Now, thanks to you, I have many wonderful ideas to get me going!! Mwah! Hugs, Darnell
Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteThis is your friendly prophet of doom. I wandered around for 3 or 4 weeks in a bit of pain, and unable to take deep breaths when I thought I'd better get it checked out. Long story made short for the sake of your sanity - vertabra in my back disloged, crunched into wedge shapes and hospital to do anything done about it. GET IT CHECKED OUT A S A P.

Hi Ang well it sounds like we both want putting in a bag and shaking LOL both battered and bruised ..I hope you get better soon and I would get it checked out as well..fabulous card Mrs and lots and lots of huggles Sue xxxx
ReplyDeleteHello Ang, gosh the bruising shuld be going away, I would get it checked out, just incase.
ReplyDeleteMight be a simple card but it's gorgeous, love your design and the embossed background is so lovely, super colours too, hugs Kate x
Hi Ang! Really like the clean lines on this card. Just enough fancy with the enbossed background. Take care and have a great day.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card-love the idea of using patterned paper then diecutting it. The twine is just perfect on the card- doesn't detract form the embossing.
ReplyDeleteI think an Xray is needed-phone your GP today!!!!!!!
Michele
I just love your card Funnily enough I used the Heirloom die today for my first card of 2015 - I much prefer yours to mine! I've never really used the outside edge but after seeing yours I must have a "play"
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else You must get your leg checked out u know you think that after a couple if weeks that they won't be interested BUT they will Go See your GP we need you to keep paddling Dodgy leg and you may not be able to
Really like this idea. I am all for simple with Christmas cards.
