Good morning everyone. How is everyone doing?
Its been lovely driving again and I was almost in ecstasy being able to hang the washing out yesterday........that's what passes for excitement in this household at the moment,
Sadly Jackie, whenever I mention "having a drink" its not the alcoholic variety. Since the A/Fib diagnosis, I have been off the pop as it can be a trigger and also because of the tablets I take. Now with the kidney issues too, its a definite no no...........the irony being, when you keep getting bad news, a couple of bottles of prosecco would go down very nicely lol!!!
Hence the excitement being found in the pegging out of my smalls (Maureen won't know what they are).
On that note, I would like to advise WART that their Mr B drone has been identified and neutralised............the one time I have been grateful to find a deposit from a neighbourhood cat!!!
Barbara has gone into a Wisteria Protection Programme to thwart any kidnap attempt and is now a man called Dennis living in a kibbutz in Scunthorpe...........oooops, shouldn't have said that, we'll have to move her again now.
The knitted duck has also been moved to a place of safety.
And Littlelamb, it wasn't just a card its a calendar card so I'm happy to show everyone ....Maureen is just jealous as she doesn't have one.
Now, back to today's card. I was going to show another sample from John's last shows but can I find the other photos, can I eck!!! So, on my travels amongst my photo folders, I found some Christmas cards from 2016 I don't believe I have blogged (I'm not putting money on it though). This was one of my favourites that I made.

Its still relatively flat, even with the layers.
Well, that's me for now but for those of you coming to or thinking of coming to the workshop on Sunday (there are a few spaces left) the venue has changed as per the poster on my sidebar.

Ps.......One of my lovely pals sent me a Foamiran kit for my convalescence, which I didn't use at the time due to not being able to lift my GC (but then discovered you can hand cut the blooms - doh!!!). I didn't photograph the kit for the last blog post as sheets of foam don't really look very interesting lol!!!

ReplyDeleteI was just saying to George that Christmas is less than 11 months away (we have exciting conversations!) and lo and behold you join in and post a beautiful Christmas card - spooky ha ha. The flowers are lovely and I know you will have enjoyed doing them. As for hanging the washing out - did it dry? Is it ironed? Would you repeat the exercise?
I'll have you know that I do know what smalls are, they are the opposite of my red silk, down to the knee type bloomers!!
So sorry that Mr B has been de-activated but have you found the hedgehog, a good WART operative always has a back-up plan,and I know Wendy is also fiendishly plotting.

I keep seeing foamiran mentioned but not being into flower making have not thought about trying it but your first attempts look expert to me. Love from Jackie xx

So you think that Mr. B has been as you say neutralised but as the the top secret workings of said Mr. D are now inside said neighbours cat we now have a larger spy system. Also as Maureen said we always have a back-up plan which I cannot at this time reveal ( haven't thought of it yet!!)
So pleased that you are getting out and about but do take care and do not try and do to much as we don't want a relapse, as we do need you out of the house for obvious reasons.

ReplyDeleteYour going to have to hire a body guard soon in addition to Mr D! It all sounds a bit scary to me.Its a good job you can de-stress and make beautiful cards and flowers.
I know what you mean about the little things. After the hospital got things wrong for me, treating me just for arthritis when it was a torn ligament and cartilage and leaving me for 12 weeks I'm finally beginning my recovery!
Today I'm feeling excited as I'm allowed a five minute walk outside today!Yay!
This news and your cheery post has kept me going.

Hi Mrs D, lovely card. I have seen foamiran kits advertised, but assumed that flowers made of foam would be bulky, yours look so realistic. Gorgeous.

A beautiful card Ang and I love the colours. Also love the formiran flowers. I have some so must give it a try. Bought it at the Newbury Craft Fabre. My son has bought me a book for my birthday called 100 Simple Paper Flowers. It has all the templates so am wondering if I can use the foamiran for them. Most of them are made with tissue. Will give it a try. Glad you like the Calendar card and thank you for your kind comments. Perhaps I will have to make Maureen one if she promises to leave the Wisteria alone.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you have got behind the wheel again Ang! Paul has passed all the criteria for this 'super' drug and he is climbing Mount Everest as I type!!!! LOL he has to have 2 iron fusions in the coming weeks and hopefully that's it for awhile besides normal blood tests! Flew back into Brum last night - Tuesday- been a lovely few weeks away , sad to say goodbye to my family. Really looking forward to the workshop on Sunday. Jet lag just setting in....

Wow Ang, this is simply divine! The aqua is so perfect for a wintery card, it has such a frosty icy feel to it, especially when combined with the mirror paper! The embossed pattern is fantastic, like snowflakes blowing around in the winter wind! The sentiment die cut is a show stopper with the intricate design and the wee aqua pearls! Absolutely love this!! Beautiful work with the foamarian, the flowers are gorgeous! hugs :)

ReplyDeleteWell Sugar - I have premature ventricular contractions (PVC) which ordinarily is not a problem but I have too many of them. Had a heart cath last week and fortunately I do not have any blockages and do not need a stent. They are talking about doing a heart ablation next. The two worst things are anxiety and alcohol. I love a good cold pint and enjoy some scotch. Looks like I can no longer keep alcohol at home and only when we go out have a cold draft beer. I will have to talk with my doctor about my anxiety - the medication that give me for that does not work worth a crunch. I feel young at heart but my body says "wait a minute Sandy - you are no Spring chicken!"
