Howdy one and all. Hope this finds you well.
What a scorching weekend eh? So unusual for a Bank Holiday but very welcome.
Yesterday, I was very lucky to be able to attend a demo session, with John at Sunrise Crafts with the amazing Becca Feeken.
Becca has been a crafty idol for both of us so it was a fabulous afternoon.
Poor John had only returned from Mexico the evening before but I knew that he would not want to miss it.
What a genuinely lovely lady too, as was Christine Emberson who travelled with Becca.
Today, I was out with Nesta at a NGS event in Coventry and it was yet another super afternoon wandering around, feeling jealous looking at other folks neatly manicured gardens in the Sun .....................some cracking wistys that I can supply address for to WART, some unguarded at the front of properties, so easy pickings gals!!!
It was very warm and I now have pink cheeks (shouldn't have worn the hot pants!!!)
Tomorrow, I'm meeting up with my friend PeeJay.for lunch and a catch up so its been all go the last couple of days.
I make the most of the good days.
Now, back to the matter in hand. Today's card is another that was missed in my John's sample folder from over a year ago, using Sue Wilson's Mauritius dies.......I am trying to be more organised lol!!
Ingredients
White card
Different shades of blue foundation card
SW Mauritius dies
John Lockwood sentiment
Blue satin ribbon
Pearlage
The main die has been chopped to make the overlapping pattern. This was one of the cards that I really loved making with that die set.
So, after John had shown the photo on Facebook I thought that I may as well reveal all on here (not literally, you will be happy to know). I think that this will be the first time in all my years blogging that I have shown a picture of me on here. The camera does add 10 pounds and it was a wide angle lens lol!!! I will now have to be re-assigned in the Duck Protection Program!!!

On a sad note folks, I hope that my lovely blog mate Elaine (Nattyboots) won't mind me letting you all know that her dear son passed away on Friday. Andrew had sadly been poorly for some time.

ReplyDeleteI’ve followed Becca Feeken for years too! She makes some lovely things and her Dies are beautiful. What a great photo! Remember you are nearest the camera too! It’s nice to put a face to a name! Glad you enjoyed your day.
Your card is lovely! How quickly we forget the Dies we have.
I had heard about Andrewis passing from Pam who used to comment on Sue’s Blog.
My thoughts and prayers are with Elaine, Helen and all the family at this sad time.

Morning Ang, such a beautiful card, Sue's dies are always a favourite of mine, and to use these colour combinations really makes this sample shine.
ReplyDeleteWould love to have been a fly on the wall when you all got together with Becca, I can imagine John's face beaming all day long, so pleased you all enjoyed yourselves, and it is lovely to see the photo of you all, now I can associate a face with the name.
I too was extremely saddened to hear from Elaine about Andrew, he had been so brave and fighting for a long time. If you are reading this Elaine, my condolences to you and your family again. xx
Need to get myself ready as off to the shops, I wonder what I can find to purchase.........oh no better not because Detling is in only 2 weeks time and I want to get some stuff there.

Hi Ang after all this time it is lovely to put a face to the name, its a lovely picture. So pleased you were able to go with John to meet Becca and Christine. Always inspirational to meet such talented folk. Your card may be a year old but the design still looks fresh.

As others have said please pass on my condolences to Elaine. I can't begin to know her families' grief but I hope it helps to know folk are thinking of her.

Hi Ang, wow, believe it or not I had you down for a white haired old lady - how wrong I was I am pleased to say. We cannot all be skinny chips - the chunky ones are the ones who have lived!!! and I count myself in this category. It's a beautiful photograph of you all. As always your cards are timeless; you would not have known it was a year old. It was sad to read the note about Elaine's son and I too would like you to pass on condolences to her and the family. So pleased for you to have some wonderful outings, especially sharing one on one time with Becca Feeken. I follow her on her blog, buy her Spellbinder's dies and make cards using her style. I am a "Victoian" at heart. She is indeed a lovely lady with grace and so very kind.

My Son has an exposed wisteria on the side of his house so I'm not saying where he is. LOL.
