Good morning all. Hope things are well with you all.
Thank you for your lovely comments about my photo on my last post though I am worried by the ones who said that I didn't look how they thought I would.....I looked nice lol!!!! I'm sure there is a complement in there hahaha!!!
Today is a new challenge over at MAWTT and the topic has been set by Nursey Harrop and is.................................
Now, I did fortunately get to meet up with Nursey at the MCM show on Saturday. Always a pleasure Mrs H and thanks for the pokey tool!!!
Our Nursey loves a quote and sentiment or two and I thought this gift I had made for Nesta, would fit the bill nicely. She is having a new kitchen (Nesta not Nursey) and I made this as a kitchen warming present.
There was a bit of a goof up with this which actually turned out for the best (or so I think anyhoo). I had masked off and gilding polished the centre, stamped the florals around the edges and sentiment and then intended to glaze over it all with a matt glaze.
However, in my eagerness, I grabbed the pearl glaze instead.
As soon as I started to apply it, I thought "oh dear, ooops" or something very similar but couldn't wipe it off without it taking the ink with it grrrrrrr.
Just had to wait to see what it dried like and I was pleasantly surprised. The pearl gave the florals an almost ethereal look so it was a happy accident intentional outcome.
Ingredients
Slate heart
Stitched Heart dies (on my website)
JND Spring Flowers, Summer Flowers and Autumn Flowers stamps
Kaisercraft Sentiment stamp
Cosmic Shimmer Mint gilding polish
Cosmic Shimmer Pearl glaze
Diamante strips
Black Archival Ink
The stamping does show up more in the sunlight.
So, get yourselves over to MAWTT and see what the other girls have come up with and get your creative hats on and join in.
Before I go, I thought that I would just warn the WART members that my little Ninjas are poised and ready to defend.
When I mentioned WART, Molly showed what she felt about them..................
And my fearless little feline Lily, is now actively on patrol on the Wisty.........................
You have been warned!!!!!!!

The heart is lovely and sometimes making a mistake proves to be a great idea.

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeletebeautiful creation and such a super lovely sentiment.
Love your outcome of the the pearl glaze it looks so stunning.
Kitties look good on patrol forgot to mention my son has dogs to patrol his wisty. LOL.
Lots of crafty love and gentle hugs. Jenny L.
Hi Ang a beautiful gift with a great choice of sentiment words. Love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteI don't for a minute understand how you did this, Ang, but it is very amazing and looks like a brilliant slate heart with a glass sediment insert! I love it! And I love the little furry imp photos, too! They are really making themselves at home now I see and doing a good job of being watchcats!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo
ReplyDeleteI love your heart with the happy accident. My accident yesterday was not so fortunate. I was opening a bottle of acrylic paint and it sprayed all over my favorite top. I am thinking maybe I should sprinkle more spots on it so it looks like part of the material design. The price of creativity.
ReplyDeleteThose two Ninja Kitties really should keep all the varmints away. Wisty thievery must be rampant in the UK but you are well protected.
Have a wonderful day,
Stephanie K

Morning Ang, your heart is beautiful and I'm sure Nesta loved it.
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to see a photo of you as it's nice to put a face to a name. and it also helps with planning the Wisty Raid, as we now know who to look out for. The kittens are beautiful but with Junes Bells attached wherever is appropriate I don't think we have anything to worry about.
Take care Ang, keep fit and well.
