Good morning Paddlers. Are we all enjoying the clement weather?
Its been a glorious few days here and regular visitors will know how excited I get about seeing my smalls flapping in the Sun.
Hope that you all enjoyed John's shows. It was a real flower fest! Suits me though as I love making flowers lol!!! Thank you for your kind comments on my hydrangeas. I will make some more to fill up the vase when I get time as they were time consuming.
Now today's creation is a wreath I made for the shows. It is one of my favourite projects so I'm hoping that John will give it back to me as I want to put it on the wall at Chateau Canard.
A few photos of this one folks.
Ingredients
Hobbycraft 25cm polystyrene ring
White, cream and green card
Green florist tape
JND Blousy Poppy die
JND Camellia die
JND Hydrangea die
JND foliage dies
Crafts Too stamens
Inks
I prefer to colour flowers myself with inks but I did use green card to hand cut the larger ivy around the edge.
I may make another of these as I really enjoyed doing it.......We could end up with one in every room lol!!!
Another semi busy week at The Pond. My lovely friend Elaine has fractured the bottom of her tibia when she fell whilst out running (see exercise is NOT good for you) so I'm taking her to a couple of hospital appointments today and possibly later in the week too.
Then later in the week, its out with Davey and another friend for a Malaysian lunch..............sooooooooooooo looking forward to that and seeing how authentic it is (for those who don't know, I am half Malaysian), I can almost taste the Rendang Daging 😊😊😊.
Hope that you all have a wonderful week and thank you, as always for taking the time to visit and comment.

Wow what a stunning wreath.. it must have taken ages. Still have to watch John's shows. I was at the make it show in Farnborough on Saturday and yesterday I played with the goodies I purchased. Not too many I was quite good ... take care xxc
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang, oh my gosh how beautiful is this, I saw it on the show but the close up photos on here really do show how wonderful the dies cut out and your colouring is out of this world, John is always praising your flowers and he wa certainly not wrong.
ReplyDeleteI was at a workshop yesterday with Martine Smith and Hellen Pearce and Martine showed me how to make the poppy foam into a small bud, I was blown away, will have to nip to the florist wholesalers to get the green tape, I didn't even know that you could stretch it, what a dimbo I am.
Enjoy your Malaysian meal, you will have to take some pictures of the dishes for us to see.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
I loved this wreath when I saw it on John’s shows. It’s gorgeous and must have taken ages to make.
ReplyDeleteIt’s so good not having to wear loads of layers to go out and seeing all the spring flowers out in the garden. Trimmed wisterias back to two buds during the week. Have you?

ReplyDeleteoh my word what an amzing wreath and it's so gorgeously created and very stunning.
Your flowers look so beautiful and so real like amazing colur you have added to them.
I bet this was so time consuming and such a labour of love.
You must have the patience of a saint.
Hope your friend soon gets better and is pain free.

Hello Ang, all the samples you made were stunning for the shows. WakeyL
ReplyDeleteHi Ang I did manage to catch some of John's shows and saw this lovely garland ( a wreath sounds too funereal for me!! ) I'm not sure what it is you are looking forward to the dish conjures up a modern dance or something!! But anyway, enjoy xx
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Ang. Did see it on John’s show but good to see it in more detail.. hope you get it back. Have a good week. Enjoyed the snake It Show at Farnborough. Bought a few goodies. Thought about some but then decided I didn’t really need it.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs D, The wreath is absolutely stunning and I hope Mr L returns it to you.You sound like your week ahead is going to be busy but enjoyable so I hope you make the most of it and I hope your friend recovers well.Take care Lots of Love Barbara D xxx
ReplyDeleteThis wreath is stunning. I absolutely have three thumbs with paper flowers (June, lucky you took that class with Martine) so no way could I get anything close to your beautiful blooms. I do appreciate looking at them and I love the brave, hearty flowers that make it in our yard. Plenty of daffodils, iris and azalea which seem to survive living without much care.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to conquer one paper flower and then make it in every color no matter how authentic!
Have a wonderful week,
Stephanie K
PS. If you do think of making pictures of your lunch, that would be great. We have no Malaysian
restaurants and I love to try new dishes.
Beautiful, as always xx
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning, Ang. Looking forward to Sunday.

Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are always lovely but you have excelled yourself this time! The wreath is goegeous and would cost a small fortune in a nice gift shop!
What I liked about your hydrangeas and forgot to say was that you used hydrangea plant colours.
Have a lovely week and enjoy your Malaysian meal. I’m waiting for my younger son to arrive as we have yet more “ things” to sort out!
It’s beautiful weather here and I hope it is with you too!
