Good morning mon petit champignons. Hope all is well with you on this fine Friday.
I am, thankfully, pretty much over my cold. Still have a silly cough, especially when I lay down but otherwise ok.
Managed to get out for lunch with friends this week, which is always nice. Nesta and I had tacos before she jetted off to Spain again for 3 weeks.......lucky madam.
Now, Sir John of Lockwood has some new dies out today so I have been beavering away in the craft room to make some samples.
One of the dies is a hydrangea, one of my favourite shrubs. The first thing that came into my head was "balls"...............the polystyrene ones to make actual paper hydrangeas.
Ingredients
White and green card
JND Hydrangea die
Polystyrene balls
Pins
Pearl seed beads
Pinking shears
Inks
I hand cut and scored the leaves. I used green card then dabbed green ink over them.
The flowers were made from white card and then coloured and shaded, then pinned into the balls.
As you can imagine, this was a labour of love lol!!!
I love how they have turned out and will make some more to join them in the vase, when I get some free time to do some...........at these ones won't need watering.
Hope that you get chance to see the shows today and tomorrow as I'm sure that you will love John's new dies.
Be good.

Ps.....June, always happy for anyone to have a go at making anything I have come up with.
Me, a classy bird Wendy? I know there's those who would disagree (Cue Maureen).
Stephanie, I do already use Maureen's remedy as my Mum used to give it me when I was at home.........obviously they're of the same generation........old!!!
Morning Ang, oh how wonderful these look, ye they are a mixture of small flowers but as you say a labour of love and I can understand why, they really do look lovely. Looking forward to John's show tonight, love watching him demoing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your permission.
Pleased also that the cold is now in the last stages and that you are back to full healthy soon xx.

These are beautiful Ang and a great idea. I have an oasis ball that I have been going to put flowers on for a while but think these Hydrangeas fit the bill nicely. Whether I will get round to it is another story. Glad your cold is much better.
ReplyDeleteHi Ang I am so glad that you are feeling a lot better. Those dies look amazing and I just love what you have created. I too love Hydrangeas. Those dies are going to sell out. Have a great weekend. Take care. Hugs Jackie

ReplyDeleteHey, hey, hey, watch who you're calling old! I'm of that genera- oh, wait, I AM old, lol! I just love your paper hydrangeas, Ang! It's one of my favorite flowers, too. I think this is brilliant and well worth all the hours you put into creating it!! Hope your cough goes away completely soon. Huge hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are absolutely beautiful! They look so real!!!! Really amazing!!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
well Hello my old friend, such a wonderful design, love hydrangeas and you have done a beautiful job with these. I know its been a while since we spoke, got so busy lost communication with a lot of people then the last few months have given it all up now gradually coming back into it but still not got a lot of time with so much on at present, exams, course etc not crafting sadly lol! Anyhow I hope you are well my friend xxxx
ReplyDeleteHave caught a couple of John's shows and will catch up today. Yesterday was a lot of errands with the hubby between rain bursts. We are soaked in South Carolina.
ReplyDeleteI did see this beautiful flower arrangement. These are probably the types of indoor flowers I should stop at as I mostly kill the real ones. I do have several hydrangea bushes in the yard where Mother Nature can care for them. These were beautiful and John brought so many gorgeous samples to the shows.
Have a wonderful weekend. So glad you recovered from your cold. They are the worst.

Hi Ang, back from Glasgow now and knackered!!! Loving your beautiful flowers, you really are amazing at what you create.
ReplyDeletePleased to hear that you are over your cold, take care, Kate x
Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteI noticed the vase on John's show and admired it as it's really lifelike. The cough is shocking, isn't it. It lingers on - like a bad smell. (Ask me how I know - go on, ask me, and I'm talking about the cough, not the bad smell!!)
Now some people are born old, and others like Darnell and I were born to greatness and youth. I will not include Myra in this as she isn't old yet. (See Myra, I can be polite at times, untruthful but polite ha ha ha ha).
love Maureen xx
Beautiful flowers Ang. I like there one's as they do not fade, and die xx
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteI really love your vase of flowers ! What a great idea! I know I’ve been a bit quiet but I will make up for it soon, perhaps!
As for Maureen - well - say no more!
Everything you did for John’s Shows was lovely.
Thank you,
Ove Myra xxx
