Good morning lovely crafty chums. Did you miss me?
I honestly don't know where the days have been going recently so I apologise for it taking me a week to get back on here.........mind you, its a weeks break for you from my inane ramblings (thought I'd say that before anyone else does).
I can hear Bing Crosby in my head singing "Busy Doing Nothing" as that's how it seems sometimes lol!!!
I did get out for my Malaysian meal with Davey and it was very nice (photo at end) and made me get my spices out to make the rendang at home too. Did make me miss our trips to see the family in Malaysia though 😢.
Also managed to meet up with a crafty friend on Saturday too, which was lovely.
Now, back to the card.
Its a sample I made for John last year using his gorgeous butterflies and also, the first Scene Box die, used to create an Art Deco style frame.
Ingredients
Cream, black, gingerbread, terracotta blaze card
JND Butterflies dies
JND Scene Box die
Embossilicious Leaves embossing folders
JND sentiment
Bling on a string (on my website)
Pearlage
I have a few more older samples yet to be blogged so watch this space.
There are also quite a few Christmas cards from last year to show too so I apologise if it confuses the elderly from the North East 😀.
Off to the NEC today, hopefully meeting up with a few crafty pals and a mooch around the stalls. As always, there is nothing that I really need, except some forest green coloured card, but I'm sure that there will be plenty of stuff I will want lol!!!
Here's the Rendang Daging snap. I served it with plain rice, pineapple and cucumber salad and satay sauce............yum!!! Takes about 3 hours to cook but so worth it.
Have a great Thursday.

Morning Ang, your card is really lovely, such striking colours. And wow that Rendang curry does look very yum. Maybe you should start blogging some of your recipes too. Enjoy the NEC, I am sure there will be some purchases made. Take care all. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang I envy you going to the NEC enjoy your day. A lovely card I like the colours you have used xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Ang, such a beautiful sample, love all your work, it is also nice to be reminded of dies and things that are not too recent because I tend to forget some of them, so this spurs me on to check mine out. I don't mind Christmas samples, we all have lots of them to make so get in early I say.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you enjoyed your meal.
I am envious of you going to the NEC, it is so far for me to gt too and I would have to rely on someone driving me and my mobility scooter up there, then we would have to stay over. I used to go up there for 4 days and attend every day but alas I can no longer do that, say hello to John and anyone who you think knows me.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Love the way you have used the embossing folder, Ang. Keep going with the Christmas cards - I love seeing them.
ReplyDeleteHope to catch up with you later.
Anne (Northampton)
Gorgeous card Ang. I do envy you going to NEC, a friend from Spain is going tomorrow, xxx
ReplyDeleteA lovely sample again. Love to have ideas for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteNot going to NEC this year - too tempting to spend money and there’s nothing I need ( though have asked Anne to look out for one die for me). Hope to catch up soon.

Hi Ang,
ReplyDeletethis is such a delightful card and the colours are very lovely.
Love that beautiful Butterfly it's gorgeous.
oooooooooo! I wish I was going to the NEC it's been quite a few years since I went.
You do get some lovely bargains there and sometimes you just need to see things that you forget to buy online which is my way of buying as there is a very limited craft shops in my area in fact we only have a very small Hobbycraft.
Fab plate of food as there is Indian blood in my background I love anything spicy and very hot.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteIs it really that long since you last posted, I hadn't noticed!!!! I am available any time to come for some Ring a ding curry, just name the time and place ha ha. (I can't remember its proper name, Rendang something!).
Today's card is unusual and I like the Art Deco design.
Did you know that the song came from "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court"? It was a favourite of mine when I was quite young.
love from the Bewildered and Confused xxxx
Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteSometimes it’s hard following Maureen other times it well nigh impossible!! I had never heard of Rendang until last week - I’ve now come across it three times! Thank you for the photo - it looks very tasty - the rendang not the photo!!
Since this is blog about your lovely cards I have to say this is very stylish! Love how you have used the box as a frame. I love those butterflies and use thema lot.
Many thanks,
Love Myra xx
A lovely card Ang. Sorry I am late but a lot of my emails were missing today. They have just all come now. Don’t know where they have been. Curry looks good but as a vegetarian I wouldn’t eat it.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks great but the card is even better
ReplyDeleteI’m a bit of a sucker (steady!) for butterfly dies and have both of John’s sets now (courtesy of Stamperama in Stevenage) I may have to borrow this idea I love how you’ve stacked them all I only ever do a solid and one layer of the filigree
Have fun at NEC xx
