Good morning everyone. Hope all is good with you. Barbara, I hope that you are feeling better now.
Its been an interesting week at The Pond. I went to the NEC last Thursday and met up with a few crafty chums.
Didn't spend too much but it was quiet......good for shoppers, as you don't end up manhandling folk or getting your shins bashed by a trolley but probably not great for stallholders.
I have bought some more wool too. I will put a pic of the blanket I crocheted for The Girls, when I can get them off it. Next project is a top for me.
I have also had a bit of a niggley tooth. I had been dosing up on paracetamol in the hope of limping it through to the check up I had already booked for next week.
But, twas not to be. I finally had to concede defeat and got an appointment on Weds but with another dentist at the practise as mine was off.
the x-ray machine wouldn't work properly (a problem all day, not just me lol!!!) so she guessed, from the symptoms, that it must be an infection and has put me on antibiotics......deep joy, 3 more tablets to take every day along with 8 paracetamol as the pain is still there. Fortunately, I can't take Ibruprofen or I would be necking the as well.
Now, back to the matter in hand. An oldie from last Summer. This was a sample on John's cracker show. I was left with a pile of waste from making a cracker and thought there must be something that I can do with this...............so, you know me and flowers lol!!!
Ingredients
Crafts Too watermelon card
Black card
Silver mirror card
JND Proper Cracker die (waste)
JND Star Stream embossing folder
JND sentiment
Bling
Sorry its been hiding in my annals this long but making so many samples, there are a lot to go through.
Looking forward to the weekend as Sunday brings a Coventry workshop with John, our first of the year so should be good fun and great company and a jolly good carvery too.
Talking of food, here is last night's dinner......Moth Bean Dal (yes, that is Moth!!!) with homemade mooli and lime pickles.
I'm sure that the name will illicit a comment or two but it was very tasty. Yes Kate, you know me too well, I like my food like my men, hot and strong lol!!!
Jenny, I too have Indian blood. My Mum's dad was from India and my Grandma was from Malaysia, which is where my Mum was born, Consequently, I have had to add chillies to everything from a very young age..........even a cheese sandwich has to have a chopped green chilli on it.
Littlelamb, this is a veggie meal so you'd be safe this time.
On that note, I shall leave you good folk to enjoy your Friday and your weekend.
Be good.

Morning Ang, beautiful creation today, I think we all have left over things that we have put to one side when we make something, they always come in handy don't they.
ReplyDeleteHope your tooth is feeling better. I had one of mine taken out about 2 months ago but there is still a piece of the tooth in there, I can feel it with my tongue, got an appointment on Tuesday, ouch not looking forward to it, I hate dentists, I am terrified of them, had so many bad experiences when I was a child, remember the school dentists, oh they did hurt, it has left a lasting fear of them to this day.
Anyway, have a great day. and enjoy john's workshop, say hello to him for me.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Gorgeous card, Ang. I was disappointed with the show but still managed to spend a bit! Sorry I can't join you at the workshop - next time hopefully.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Anne (Northampton)

Good Morning,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card and made from discard which makes it even more special. The food pictures are making me want to visit our favorite Indian restaurant with a terrific buffet so I can sample different dishes. My sister has been visiting and we usually get there but this trip we didn't have a chance.
Good luck with your dentist appointment.
Take care everyone,
Stephanie K
You are very innovative Ang. You and your Indian food, yum yum, xxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs D, I am on the mend now Thankyou. This card is very striking and a great use of left overs !! Hope the tooth gets sorted, maybe a hot green chilli applied carefully will numb it into submission, just a thought. Take care Lots of Love Barbara D xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeletewhat a very beautiful card and that colour card is gorgeous.
Love your wonderful design it's so fab.
Your meal looks really good I am a lover of that type of food myself.
Did you know Iceland does a lovely Slimming World Veg Dahl side dish which is very yummy and good if you want something in a hurry.
I mostly make my own but this was nearly as good as mine just needed some chillies if you want it hot like me, that's the meal not me LOL.
Hope your toothache doesn't give you too much jib.
Lots of crafty love and hugs, Jenny L.
Hello Ang,
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I hope you manage to get some relief soon from the dreaded toothache. I'm like June and terrified of the dentist, the School Dentist was bad but not as bad as the Dentist in the Sanatorium where I spent a year as a child and he filled just about every tooth in my mouth. I wasn't the only victim, he must have been paid for every tooth he filled or extracted.
Your card today is really lovely and even better when it's made from left overs.
I have to say that your Moth meal looks like left overs. I'm not sure if I could cope with something really hot, at my age I have to be careful ha ha.
Look after yourself, you're a one off!!!
Love xxx
Hi Ang, beautiful card, I love the simplicity of it.
ReplyDeleteBummer about your tooth, just what you don't need, hope it gets sorted soon.
Interesting looking food, I'm a korma sort of gal, creamy and mild, then an upset stomach, but sometimes it's worth it, Kate x
Lovely card Ang. Thanks for letting me know there is a veggie version of the Dal meal. Hope workshop goes well. Too far for me. I am sure everyone will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Ang and your meal looks scrumptious I like spicy foods but OH doesn’t So I rarely get to eat curries etc
ReplyDeleteI hope the workshop went well If only I could get to one
Hope the toothache is easing
