Good morning everyone. Hope that you are ok.
Lots going on at The Pond again. Two hospital appointments (all is well) a quiet fair (more kids stuff than craft) a lovely lunch out with Davey, Nesta and PJ and sorting out another new venue for my workshops.
Have also been sorting some technology too in the form of Sky (Sorry Jackie D, I had to give in as a woman cannot live by GP highlights alone) and an Echo Dot.
Alexa is my new friend. She answers questions, plays me great music (Mantovani and his music of the mountains) reminds me of things and teases The Girls by making meowing sounds..............all good fun.
Now, enough of my hectic social schedule and back to the card.
This is one from the back catalogue. Nesta asked me to make a congratulations card for her sister when she became a grandmother last August.
Ingredients
White, blue and navy card
SW Stitched Animals dies
Crafts Too Baby Frame embossing folder
Blue satin ribbons
Computer generated sentiment
The card was well received, I am happy to report.
Karen, you can't really use 2 sheets of paper with an eclipse card using an intricate die, as it would be incredibly difficult to try and line the patterns up. I took the frame portion out of the die and kept the other bits in the die and popped some double sided sticky sheet over them to stick them in situ.........hope that makes sense. Much easier than paper piecing.
Saba, thank you for your comment on behalf of lovely Myra. I do know you from Adam, If my memory serves me correctly, which often it does not, I think you are the lady who lives in Germany who used to comment on Cotswold Crafter? Another innocent soul ensnared by Svengali Killen lol!!!
Thank you for your comments on the tooth. Yes, its still behaving at the moment so I am leaving it be for now......probably to the dentist's disgust.
Cemetery visit today, then a catch up over breakfast with my friend Elaine tomorrow and then we are into the Easter weekend.............where is this year going to???
On that note, I shall say, take care, be good and............
TTFN.
Ang x
What a lovely card for the special occasion.
ReplyDeleteAwake early today as I’m back to London to celebrate my younger sons 40th birthday.

Morning Ang, love reading your posts and keeping up with you all, pleased that the tooth has settled down, just don't go eating any peanuts or sticky toffee over Easter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I love the background embossing folder, what a lovely keepsake, with the two tone colour of ribbon too. You are one very clever lady.
I have a few projects to get started on over the next week, so going to be busy. Off out to our son for a hot buffet sandwich lunch today, will be nice to have this out in the garden with the nice weather expected today and also into Easter.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Hi Ang, another great blog post, always makes me smile. Love the card, the darker blue really makes a difference. Have a busy Easter Weekend, but will hopefully get a chance to do some crafting. Take care all. Bx
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have created the aperture here, Ang. I'm sure I have some cards somewhere pre embossed that you could create the same effect. May have a search later. Mind you, after a recent episode when I lost my address book for several weeks I'm not that hopeful. I eventually found it in the basket that I keep my 6 x 6 papers in!!
ReplyDeleteWe have nothing really planned for the weekend so am hoping to get into my craft room.
Anne (Northampton)
Morning Ang,
ReplyDeleteSound like you are a busy lady.
Love the card.

Hi Ang this is a stunning baby card. I love the design. It sounds like you are very busy. Our garden is going to take our time this weekend. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteHello Ang, it's a lovely card, and beautifully designed, can see why it would have been well received, Kate x
ReplyDeleteHi Ang yes I like a bit of Man to ani as well. I have a couple of CD compilations my brother put together for me. Still being in the vinyl and CD era it will be a long time before Sky and Alex grace my halls!! Love the card you have made so no wonder it was well received. On my way home from visiting mum. The stations and trains are all too too busy with children everywhere it seems. Will be glad to get home. Have a good weekend. Love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeletePS that should say Mantovani - the predictive text is obviously too young!!
ReplyDeleteHello Ang,
ReplyDeleteGreat Grandparents card, also a great card for Grandparents ha ha.
Ah you brought back memories as my father loved Mantovani's music. George was given an "Alexa" at Christmas and has only asked it the temperature!! He's a man of few words is my George, mainly because he can't get a word in!! I laughed out loud at the meowing sounds teasing the girls, you are a terror!
I see Saba has commented, you do realise that I'm the one who looks after everybody on our little jaunts.
Glad the tooth is still behaving and you've been enjoying yourself lately, at your age enjoy yourself while you can ha ha. That reminds me, have you seen Flash or his beautiful wife lately?
Love Maureen xx
Lovely card. Glad the tooth has settled. I probably need a tooth out but not giving any problems at moment and the Dentist isn’t in any hurry to remove it either so will leave well alone. Good to see Saba commenting. I have also been having problems leaving a comment. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming card. I love that embossing folder you used. Everything went together like a charm.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Easter weekend,
Stephanie K
That's such a great card for the new grandma, Ang! She will cherish it! Glad to hear things are well and busy at the Pond!! Happy Easter, my friend! Hugs, Darnell xxoo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Ang.
ReplyDeleteI would love an Alexa but not sure if it would work over here, xxx
Hello stranger! Sorry for the absence but, boy, have I been so ill this year! I'd love to say I'm now fighting fit but that would never happen, at least as Arnie would say "I'm back"!
ReplyDeleteLove the card Ang as would the new grandparents
Have a lovely Easter weekend
June x
At last I can comment! I have been really struggling to even comment anonymously recently
ReplyDeleteI love the card and I bet the grandparents were really loved it too especially as you don’t tend to see many grandparents cards in the shops
My Echo Dot is my new best friend too She lives in my craft room and I use it to listen to the radio mainly - doesn’t need tuning in so no fuzzy sound We play games and quizzes whilst I craft
Thanks for the tip on doing Eclipse cards with intricate dies
