Good morning everyone. Hope that you are all still healthy and well.
We are ok so far. Mr D has taken to sitting around, doing b%&&er all like the proverbial duck to water and I have shown remarkable restraint and fortitude by not strangling him........as yet!!!
I had hoped to do a bit more blogging but other things have a habit of getting in the way.
Sadly, a very dear friend of ours passed away in the middle of April. Although she had been ill for a few months, with cancer, she had been relatively ok but then took a sudden turn for the worse and after a few worrying days, she sadly passed away.
It has been devastating for all of her friends as we had not been able to see her for a few weeks, due to her shielding and now, we are also not able to attend her funeral.
She died on the anniversary of my Mum's passing, so I was already sad not being able to visit the cemetery.and her funeral is on the anniversary of my Dad's passing so I'm set for another extremely emotional day.
This week, another dear friend sadly lost his Mum and so that was another sympathy card to be made.
This is the grim reality of the situation that we find ourselves in at the moment, jokes about loo rolls and pasta aside.
Anyhoo, on a lighter note, I am back with my DT card for the new challenge at MAWTT and the theme for this month is ......................................
Well, I certainly didn't have to look too far through the files for cards with flowers lol!!!
As you may have a little extra time on your hands, why not join in and enter a card into our challenge.
Ingredients
White and yellow card
JND Camellia die
JND Swirl Leaves
JND Swirl Sentiments
Crafts Too Flower Lattice embossing folder
Crafts Too stamens
Distress Inks
This is made from an A4 sheet of card, folded into thirds for something different. I embossed the outer thirds only to give a decorative effect to the sides. It obviously still folds flat.
I must get myself back in the craft room. I had been busy making lots of samples for John's last show and for his next one but have lacked a bit of mojo this past couple of weeks.
I have still been doing plenty of walking, though not the past couple of days as its been too cold and too wet. Here's hoping for some warmer and drier days again as it had been lovely basking in some sunshine. Having been taken off some tablets 6 months ago, which made my skin photosensitive, its been fab to be able to spend more than 10 minutes in the Sun and not having itchy and sore skin if I did without factor 50 sun block.
Its the first time I've had a tan in 3 years lol!!!
I'm trying to encourage Mr D to get out for a bit of exercise too. He normally does a fair bit of walking as part of his job but for the past few weeks, he has only been walking between his chair and the fridge lol!!!
Just before I go, Karen, I don't glaze any of my flowers at all. I occasionally glaze leaves, if they are naturally shiny ones......... and thank you for helping keep the NHS wheels turning chuck.
Donna, thank you for dropping by. Hope that all is well in Colorado.
And, hello to my new followers. Thank you for clicking that button.
Hope to see you soon. Keep well and safe my friends.

So sorry to read about your friend's passing, it is extra sorrowful when you can't visit the lady as well as being unable to attend the funeral

Beautiful Card Ang....So sorry for your losses, sending hugs from a distance...Caz x
ReplyDeleteHi Ang,
ReplyDeleteoh I love this gorgeous card and those flowers are so pretty.
Very stunning make that's for sure.
The colours are so fabulous too.
I too am walking every morning all be it around the house I am up to 1,800 steps now.
Makes me feel so much more livelier and it keeps the blod flowing.
Mr D sounds like my Daughter's fiance she has to work and he sits around all day playing candy crush.
At least he does make her tea for when she gets home so I shouldn't grumble.
Life in lockdown on your own is hetic as I have to do all the things that I was helped with myself so not as much time to craft and blog.
I was a bit down for a while as I had a sore throat for a fortnight and imagined that I had the virus, but I'm still here thank goodness.
I know what you mean about people passing away my DIL's mother passed early in April and she found it very hard not being able to comfort and cuddle her relatives especially her Daughter.
Glad you and Mr D are okay though look after yourselves.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Hi Ang this is a stunning card those flowers are gorgeous. I am so sorry for your loss. The situation we are in does make these things seem worse. My hubby is working from home and somehow we are shopping for six lots of people. Life it strange. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteHi Ang, sorry to read you have been having such a sad time. Being unable to visit makes it all the harder as well. Mr D definitely needs a hobby - perhaps a bit of woodworking or metalwork with accumulated bits and pieces in the shed? Just a thought!! It's a lovely sunny card you have made, I like the design. Take care of yourself now, love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteHello Ang. So sorry to hear your sad news. It’s made worse by being in lockdown. Love your card especially the yellow flowers. Really reminds you of Spring although the last couple of days here have been v cold. Today we had rain, hail and thunder. Been self isolating for 7 weeks now. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry for all your losses, Ang. It's especially hard when new sadness lands on top of old. Big cyber hugs to you, my friend. I think of you often and I'm so relieved to hear you are doing well and able to get out and walk in the sunshine like you haven't been able to do for three years. The timing on that couldn't have been more perfect. We need to get out in the fresh air whenever possible and have a change in scenery! And I'm happy you haven't succumbed to spousicide yet. I feel your pain! 😯 Finally, wow, what a sensational 3D sunny yellow card you've made! I love it!! Take care and keep safe!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteA beautiful very elegant card ANG
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about recent events and nothing I can say will make things better I am thinking of you
Thanks for the information about what you do/don’t with your flowers
Fortunately I am able to work from home which I feel a little guilty at as many of my colleagues are frontline but hopefully I am able to help with their admin
Take care all xx
I really love that these flowers are 3D.

Blogs seemed to have passed me by during recent weeks so I’m catching up now. Seems like you’ve had a rough time with friends for which I’m sorry. Somehow or other it’s affecting everyone in different ways. Fortunately I can FaceTime my Mum in care although it is so hard not visiting her.
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely. I’m doing some crafting though you’d have thought that there’d have been time for more but gardening takes up a lot of time and keeping exercise going. The wisterias have been glorious . What about yours? Big virtual hug. 😷😷 x
I just did a catch up through the posts I have missed. I am glad that you and Mr. D are well (so far for him). We will come out of this eventually if people are patient. Americans are poor at this making going out scarier than it has to be.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful samples have brightened my day. Stay well, everyone,
Stephanie K
